It's a crazy combo to run, and I solo'd most of the way to 50 on it.

There is no cure ........you are DDDDDDDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMEEDDDDDDDDDD!!!! 
I may not be the person you want advising you. I have 147 characters.
But of my 11 blasters I really enjoy the secondary Energy Manipulation and my current favorite primary is Dual Pistols but Fire Blast is an old favorite.
I'd recommend heading down to the Blaster section and read some guides until one strikes your fancy and give it a whirl.

I think I may have found a possible cure for alt-itis: Traps/DP Defender.
I'm having so much fun with mine that I have a hard time imagining myself ever making anything else.
Throwing my suggestion out for a Warshade. They're not for everybody, but my warshade was far and away the most enjoyable trip to 50 of any character I've ever played.
And what do ya know? I've got a guide for them in my signature.

If you have yet to try a Dominator, I'd definately recommend it, and if you can come up with a concept to tie a costume change to activating Domination, it gets a lot more fun. Mind is a great Primary, although I've heard great things about Plant as well. (I have yet to try it, but probably will eventually)
