  1. When AE first came out, you actually could have multiple primaries but then they gimped it. So was really fun creating characters with power combinations in AE that you couldn't even do in the regular game.

Well, we've got Ninjutsu. Maybe the devs could work on something more gadgety and less ninja...ey...somewhere down the line.
  2. This sounds like a pretty cool idea! I also have to say that your posts on this subject are extremely welcomed. I have a lvl 50 AR/Dev blaster and it took me awhile to get him there. But exactly as you stated, I found him to become more and more useless on teams given the evolving playstyle as many have said, no one pulls anymore given how powerful our toons have become. So this toon basically sits unused for quite a few years now.

I do wish they could do something with the recharge and casting times as outside of the gun drone and caltrops, most of the other powers I just don't use at all (and don't get me started on the lack of damage with AR); but so much for my "marine" style toon.

I do recognise that this might make the power overpowered, though.

Then again, I was also convinced that making Assassin's Strike not suck when used out of hide would make it overpowered and that's evidently happening, and I'm sure someone at some point made the argument that Elude would be overpowered if it didn't make you "only affecting self." But like I said, I doubt that would be an easy sell.
  3. Yeah, I've got quite a few out there now that I made from my Mission Architect stories and when specifying the type of license, there is that restriction referred to earlier that you would need to own all content. In my case, I ended up using music from CDs I purchased so it was also limited in that way, however, I know Youtube also has its own music you can apply. But when you do, it overrides any sound effects you may have already in the video (e.g. sound of tank stomping on someone).

Also, you are limited to 15 mins initially but I think once I got past I think it was 10 videoes (might be less), it now lets me put up longer ones (got a few that are 40 mins, etc.

As an aside, what software did you get? I've been using Microsoft Live Movie Maker which definitely has some drawbacks so was looking for something a little more polished; would be interested in your experience with the software you purchased (and how much it cost).
  4. Thx Dave, i appreciate it..so I'll start a separate thread for my arc..ty!!!! (btw, dave clark 5 rocked!)

You'll have to do things like I did and most others did I think - start a thread about your arc here in the AE forums ("My New Arc: 'Awesomeness McAwesome' #blahblah" is a good title for such a thread) and then listen to players' comments and suggestions (odds are, some will be worth taking and listeing to carefully), keep reworking it, writing more etc. etc. etc....

and hope someone likes your work enough to recommend it here.
  5. I had started to play but my wife came home..eek.. so will finish it up tomrrow and provide a reply.. so far I like it and the writing is interesting (plus heck, stories of heaven/hell are fun).

    Looking for feedback & ratings

    Synopsis
The battle of Heaven and Hell never sleeps. It has no beginning. It has no end. The clash of Angels and Demons is an unstable balance both sides fight violently to hold. And When Helena, Lieutenant Commander of Heaven's Army, asks you to ascend to Heaven as mortals in the flesh to fight among both combatants and help General Athanatos, you are more than willing to accept. However, it'll start a chain reaction of events that will take you from Heaven to Hell and from now and 2000 years ago. Find out if Athanatos is who he says he is. Do what is necessary.

I put a lot into the story, so please read it. I did what I could with popup dialogues and windows to help teammates follow along with the story since only the leader has access to the contact.

    Enjoy! Rate! Tell others!

Oh. And take a friend or 2 with you. Several AVs/EBs. Not all at once tho, so if you want to solo them, it is possible.

    Please Rate! Thx!
  6. So if you are not part of a supergroup, then how do you get someone else to suggest your arc if there is no way to introduce it to the AE user base? Just trying to figure out how to get an arc initially played so that someone could later, if merited, suggest it for this forum?

    Thanks!
  7. actually looks like mine are em/inv, and ss/wp... anything for energy melee?
  8. Arc Name: The Praetorian Conflict II: Galactic Convergence
    Arc ID: 531887
    Morality: Heroic
Faction: Freedom Phalanx, Praetorian Clockwork, Devouring Earth, Longbow, Vanguard, Rikti, RuLaruu,
Custom Faction: Terran Military Authority (TMA), Paragon Protectors SG, Praetorians, Arcosians (based on CoX lore)
    Creator Global/Forum Name: @DeathSentry / DeathSentry
    Level Range: 41-54
Difficulty Level: Medium - Hard, though possible to solo if using your allies
Synopsis: With the continual Praetorian incursions into Primal Earth, and the recent invasion of the Shivans, the Freedom Phalanx are stretched thin in trying to protect Paragon City and so have reached out to local supergroups for assistance. However, members of both groups have gone missing while investigating recent Arachnid attacks. And to make matters worse, Numina has detected extraterrestrial signals of an ancient origin, could they be friend or yet another foe for our heroes to battle? Also, how are they related to the imminent Coming Storm? And will the interpersonal conflicts for control between the TMA, Freedom Phalanx, and Paragon Protectors doom Earth to failure?

Mission 1: Contains two Arch-Villains, and a group of Elite Bosses
Mission 2: Contains two Arch-Villains, and a group of Elite Bosses, a group of Giant Monsters
Mission 3: Contains three Arch-Villains, and a group of Elite Bosses, and a Giant Monster
Estimated Time to Play: 1-1.5 hours

    Notes:
Players will have optional allies including healers, namely the Paragon Protector called DarkLight so she should be contacted first in each mission. Also, for the outdoor maps, because of location limitations, allies initially are using the casting animations to make it easier to find them (as well as the enemies, etc). In addition, while the mission contains challenging enemies, if using your allies, they can be defeated (also in Mission 2, as you encounter monsters, be sure to steer them towards ally groups)

Looking for feedback on if the missions are too challenging; also please review the story text itself as well as back stories for the heroes and villains to help add context to the missions.

    And finally, note the link below for the The rPraetorian Conflict part 1 arc and associated Youtube video in the signature;
  9. looks like I can use them now after the last patch
  10. I have a similar machine to the original poster and also want to upgrade. Can you get an antec that would perhaps support larger wattage lets say 800 watts in the same case?

Also, is there a card that could still fit into 1 slot that would have enough power for ultra mode? I thought AMD had come out with something recently.

The Antec if physically the same size as the PSU that comes in HP Pavilions plus it provides a lot of 12 volt power (384 watts), which is what both the CPU and a real video card.

The GTX 550Ti is listed as using 116 watts.
The GTX 560 is listed as using 150 watts.
The GTX 560Ti is listed as using 170 watts.

The AMD Athlon II X4 650 is listed as using up to 95 watts.
  11. Agreed, I cannot use any of the IDF sets on my critters; I should look to see if its been added to the list of those that can be unlocked. Also, though I purchased Beam Rifle and Street Justice, its a given that they would not be available in AE given that they are powers not costume pieces. But IDF and the incarnate costumes are ones i cannot use there.
  12. Looks pretty cool, hoping to try it out with willpower for a totally natural character
  13. Thx!! So its weird, its available for everyone but not in AE
  14. Does anyone know if we can use the imperial defense costume set on our toons? I've gotten errors with it and wasn't sure if it was just me or have others seen it too. I can use Celestial (purchased via paragon rewards), not ascension, and not ID.

    Thanks!
  15. Ditto! have never been to one and was hoping this would be the year :-(

  16. DeathSentry

    titan weapons

Saw something on the net about Titan Weapons, any idea what they are and when/if they will be available?
  17. Also, if you didn't create your build in Mids, is there any way to export it from CoH and import it to Mids?
  18. I will look at your post then, my first priority is my Inv/SS, then I'll work on the WP/SS after that.

    Thank you!!!!!!

I suggest that you post your current build in a separate post and ask for suggestions on how to improve it. If it's an Invul/SS (or any Invul tank) you're looking for, reading through my first post in this thread would probably be useful since I was pretty specific about why I recommended certain sets over others.

    Hope that helps!

This group includes the Numina, Miracle & Regen Tissue uniques, the Stealth IOs and the Kismet +Acc, among others. They will be active for 120 seconds after a click power is activated, but will be on as long as a toggle is active and always on in a passive. Consequently, it's much better to put them in a passive or a toggle you use all the time than a click or a rarely-used toggle. (N.B., Stealth IOs can't be slotted in passives, since you need to be able to turn off Stealth on occasion.)

As Sailboat said, set bonuses and global IOs like the Steadfast +Def and the LotG +Recharge follow different rules. It doesn't matter where you put them and they are always active unless you exemp more than three levels below the level of the IO.

Agreed on both. As in shown in the build I posted, I dropped ResEl, not ResEn, and HOs are a fine choice for Rage.
  19. This looks like the right place, please bear with me. Been playing for over 7 years but only made tanks in the last year or so. Have an Inv/SS and WP/SS set of tanks which are very squishy (have mostly played blasters/trollers/defenders).

Ok, here is the embarrassing part; I tried to read about IOs on some of the web sites and perhaps I have a mental block but still don't understand IO sets, etc. Does anyone have a build for INV that they could share that could help me to make these toons more resistant and uber?

Specifically, if you could list each IO for each power that is required (IOs for dummies level); then I could just go buy or try to get them through trials. TFs etc. Would really be helpful. For incarnate levels, was going to do the branch that has endurance and 20% dmg resistance. Thank you all!!!
  20. What I've found is that its tough on an outdoor map given you have no real control over where they end up, you almost have to find the DH first then proceed. So I sort of wish there was a different way to do it (maybe an extra field on the character definition for an ally).
  21. Unfortunately no; you can include them in enemy/ally groups but no, cannot create a custom khledian critter unfortunately.
  22. Am a bit confused about beam rifle; isn't it going to be included in the issue for free for VIP players?
  23. Am going through the character creation screen, BIG IMPROVEMENT!! much slicker than the previous one. Only question would be is if once I select an item, could it just advance to the next page vs. me having to select <NEXT>?
  24. Sigh, thx Chad... was hoping AE would get at least a little love this time around...
