  1. Hurt that other ethereal beings such as Numina and Ghost Widow had entire arcs or Task Forces, War Witch and Mirror Spirit began a funds drive to drum up additional work for themselves. Ghost Widow 'persuaded' Black Scorpion to 'deter' them... except she briefly forgot that his usual methods would be ineffective.

    Lessee...

Trouble Magnet (Justice) - The name gives you an idea of the concept. Now that I think of it, she was the en/en blaster precursor of a far more fun character, my mind/FF controller, Cluster Flux.

Distraction (Liberty) - Extremely tall, extremely stacked, strapless black dress with thigh high boots and the battle cry "MADE YOU LOOK!" (If you've seen my TIME TO START video, she's the redhead dancing in the black dress.)

Rabid Spoo (Triumph) - Ever seen BABYLON 5? He's short, squat, bright blue, ONLY moves at a walk (kid you not - he has no travel powers and even for a "huge" body, he moves slower than molasses in January), and his battle cry was *sigh*. He drove his teammates insane, but they LOVED the concept. (He was also the star of my TIME TO START video.)

  5. There are so many... I don't even know where to begin. I wish to God the devs would hold a contest where players could submit ideas for story arcs that build on existing lore, and have them implemented in the game (within the realm of reason - for example, even though God knows HOW many people would love to see Brass Monday, they can't do it because of the sheer amount of art assets it would take to do it properly).

Would be even cooler if the big screen in Grandville showed your toon instead of Recluse
Would it include a cutscene of a mob toppling Recluse's statue?

    C'mon Newb!

My favorite newb moment was what I used to inflict on other people...

When newcomers would show up to the game, wondering why some heroes could fly (and they couldn't), I explained that they had to train for it.

    "Oh really? How?"

"You see that really big statue behind us? You need to keep jumping off it..."

So I'd port them to the top of the globe, and watch them swan dive, over and over and over, and they were MYSTIFIED at how long it was taking them. Then someone else would explain how it really worked... (at that point, I'd usually give the poor sucker a good chunk of inf or somesuch for being a good sport).

He should be proud - HIS stuff is worth coming after! Otherwise we'd have the Neuron Incarnate Trial.

I've always felt that things should be restricted in order a bit, since they do build off of one another. Something like this:

    Apex: No restrictions
BAF and Lambda: No restrictions (see note below)
Tin Mage: Requires completion of Apex
Keyes: Requires completion of BAF, Lambda and Tin Mage
    Underground: Requires completion of Keyes
TPN and MoM: Require completion of Underground

For BAF and Lambda, contextually, they would require completion of Tin Mage. However, since they're a functional path to Alpha abilities required for Apex and Tin Mage, doing them out of order would be more beneficial than otherwise. Don't want to force people to grind Shards first just to run Incarnate Trials
I could go for this... be spiffy it doing all the iTrials got you an Accolade, a la Task Force Commander. How about "Trial By Fire"?

    Hmmm... okay.

I regret that the /demorecord feature, a holdover from Cryptic and one of the few really spiffy features their code gave us, isn't utilized more by the players as a creative tool.

I regret that when players DO use the feature, they're more likely to use it to find out stuff we're not supposed to know yet, pounding one more nail into its coffin.

I regret that because it's a holdover from Cryptic and because it's not really utilized and because sometimes when it IS used, it's to skate around those troublesome things like NDAs and EULAs, Paragon Studios and NCsoft no longer support or troubleshoot it - in fact, I have it on good authority from more than a few rednames that having to keep it in the game breaks the coders' cajones. So those few of us who DO actually use it can't ask for either help or additional features, because more rednames than not wish the damn thing would just go away.

I regret that at this rate, they actually WILL make the damn thing go away before I get to finish all the videos I want to make.

    2. What happens to the Furies after the the events in "Web of Arachnos"?

    3. According to "Web of Arachnos" the Well of the Furies/Fountain of Zeus was not the source of power, but Pandora's Box. Where does the current Incarnate system fit in with this lore?

    4. It also mentions that the 3 Sisters had opened the box 4000 year prior to Marcus and Stefan, so would mean that they are the same as them - Incarnates. How do they actually become the power which enables them to control the "fast path" incarnates?

    5. Where is the box originally from if it wasn't from Earth?
Just a player here contributing, but a major lore geek, so take what you see below with a block of salt.

    1) Dates are one of the single most contradictory thing in this entire game - and that's just when you use the in-game info! Add in the novels, the comics, and even the calendars posted by Paragon Studios, and it really goes nuts. :S

    2) It's never really been discussed, unfortunately, which is a shame, coz it's a neat storyline. Strictly for myself, I wrote an AE arc that explores what happened to them after Recluse's rise to power (HELL HATH NO FURY), and then went on a bit further in my COH novels "The Course of Superhero Romance".

    3) It seems to ignore or combine the power of Pandora's Box in with the actual Well itself.

    4) Not quite sure I understand the question...

    5) Chaos, perhaps?

I have a video in mind, but I need to see how arcs #5 and #6 play out first.

  16. Not sure if it's going to get a wider US release after Dec 23rd. I hope so.

If it does well, I'd love to see them do the rest of the Quest for Karla trilogy (Honourable Schoolboy and Smiley's People). ESPECIALLY if they can get Patrick Stewart to reprise Karla!

  17. I read this ages ago - then my hubby and roommate came home from seeing something or another and said, "Did you know they're making a movie of it?"

Then I took a look at the cast list and said, "Oh, HELLS, yes."

I am so there next week... and I think it'd make an absolutely fantastic COH story arc/TF/VF.

    Anyone else going?

  18. 1) THE DEMORECORD FEATURE. Oh, thank you, ye gods and little fishes. One of my greatest outlets for creative expression. (If you're not sure what this thing is, click the link in my signature to check out my YouTube channel. You'll see.) Of course, most of this wouldn't have happened without...

    2) THE COMMUNITY. Oh sure, we have our fair share of dopes, dufuses, and all-around malevolent weirdos. But I've also been blessed with making friends with some truly amazing people in this game. They know who they are.

    3) THE LORE. I have had a field day with my AE arcs and my books, telling stories to fill in the gaps in the game's tapestry of lore.

    4) A SELECT FEW AMONG THE REDNAMES. I've been called a dev fangirl. (Actually, I've been called far worse than that but I can't post that on here.) But I don't blindly accept everything they do with no criticism whatsoever. When I think they're schnooks, I tell them so. And yet, a few of the folks with the scarlet sobriquets have been wonderfully helpful when I'm researching or filming or whatnot.

He had a go against Lusca solo on his 50 PB, with predictable (to me) results. We're doing TFs with him to get those, and today I logged in and got skype running, and as we were playing he told me of an encoutner he had earlier that day with a GM.

He spotted said GM whilst hunting ghosts in Croatoa, tabbing for the next mob. He told me that he'd never seen this particular monster before, and hadn't tried soloing one since he became T4 incarnated, so he figured what the heck, he'd have a go. He thought it best not to take any chances, so he buffed up, ate a full tray of large inspirations, got all his pets out (even his Shivans and Warwolves), charged in and unleashed his Judgement for an initial strike...

Poor Sally didn't stand a chance, really.

I laughed like a drain when he told me this. He said that only then did he check out Sally on paragonwiki, and after hanging round for half an hour, he defeated her the second time with a shot from his tier 1 attack.

Love the DBZ reference... admittedly, they went a bit overboard, because then we missed gems like this:
