What do YOU appreciate?

Greetings everyone!
Browsing through the forums, I come across a mixture of appreciation and disdain towards different things. Some people enjoy and love all things being cranked out while others look at it with disgust. This leads to long conversations turned arguments, allowing us to focus on things we might not appreciate in our game, City of Heroes.

So, I figured it would be a stellar idea to create a thread focusing on things we appreciate.

Personally, I appreciate almost everything in this game. There are only a few bumps that bug me, but alas, the things I enjoy overpower that.

Here are some of the things in-game and out that I appreciate;

1) Character Creation; Since I began, this game has rocked my world with how intensive character creation is. The sheer amount of variables you are allowed to change to fit your character is ASTOUNDING.

2) Task/Strike Forces; If you knew me in-game, you would know my love for both Task and Strike forces. I don't exactly know what it is about them. Maybe it's the idea of getting a team together to take down a threat given by a Signature Character or just the awesome-ness of it all, I just am in love with them.

3) The Development/Community Team; Where would this game be without them? They're the force that creates all that is our world and keeps our community updated.

And last but definitely not least

4) The Community; And where would this game be without US? I want to go out and say that this community is full of absolutely wonderful people. Not once have I played a MMORPG with quite this quality of people. Keep it up, folks! ;D

SOOOOOOOO, tell me people, what do YOU appreciate in City of Heroes/Villains?

The whole game. This is pretty much the game I have always wanted. A comic book world. The game that meets me halfway, then lets me create my half. A game of universes within universes, some of those being MY universes. My only regret is taking until 2009 to check it out.

1) THE DEMORECORD FEATURE. Oh, thank you, ye gods and little fishes. One of my greatest outlets for creative expression. (If you're not sure what this thing is, click the link in my signature to check out my YouTube channel. You'll see.) Of course, most of this wouldn't have happened without...

2) THE COMMUNITY. Oh sure, we have our fair share of dopes, dufuses, and all-around malevolent weirdos. But I've also been blessed with making friends with some truly amazing people in this game. They know who they are.

3) THE LORE. I have had a field day with my AE arcs and my books, telling stories to fill in the gaps in the game's tapestry of lore.

4) A SELECT FEW AMONG THE REDNAMES. I've been called a dev fangirl. (Actually, I've been called far worse than that but I can't post that on here.) But I don't blindly accept everything they do with no criticism whatsoever. When I think they're schnooks, I tell them so. And yet, a few of the folks with the scarlet sobriquets have been wonderfully helpful when I'm researching or filming or whatnot.

I appreciate the character creation/customisation and how it has continually been developed over the years.

I don't want to put them into any order of significance, but if I had to point to just one as the most important to me, overall, it would have to be the player community. The fact that teaming is so commonplace and accepted that it is the de facto standard structure for experiencing the content makes CoX by far the best MMO I have ever played. And the fact that it is also extremely solo-friendly puts it unreachably beyond all the others for me, even with all its flaws (especially in the "end game" stage).

I guess the only thing I miss from the early days of the game (the first year or so) is that nobody seems to form teams for the regular missions anymore. Teams are formed all the time for the repeatable content, but not for the regular stuff. Maybe it's because most of the low-level missions have been removed with the destruction of Galaxy City and the elimination of the origin-based starting chains. Now it seems that everyone just grinds Death From Below to level 20, grinds Tips and radio missions--with the occasional side trip through the TFs--to level 50, and then grinds the Incarnate trials until boredom sets in. Everything else seems to either get mostly ignored or run solo. That's a perfectly valid way to play the game, I suppose, but it makes me nostalgic for 2004 for some reason.
