Nope, as long as they don't mez you, they'll have to hit you through your debuffs, while it's easier for you to land attacks and deal more damage to them. Just keep moving and try to stay out of melee range, and don't be afraid to use inspirations as needed.

Earth > Mind when it comes to stalkers, mind only has levitate..and that's pretty much it. Earth trollers give me hell on my stalker...mind is pretty easy to kill...earth on the other hand.

An Earth/ForceField/Stone Controller is BY FAR the most annoying combo out there for a Stalker. Heck, it even proves the most deadly since it can take and keep Stalkers out of hide pretty easily. Nasty nasty combo. I haven't seen that particular combo yet, but I have seen those two sets used together while on my Stalker, and it's a tough cookie to crack. -

Dev's you really need to bring the old PVP back, the current nerfed PVP is total garbage.
People who are new to the game don't know the difference but thats besides the point.
Defenders arent defenders anymore, have low damage and get squashed, Controllers dont "CONTROL" anymore all they have are a hold or immob that lasts a few secs & does minimal damage.
Other classes that have Hold, stun, immobilize ect.. resist's are useless now!
Healers, you don't see healers in PVP anymore because of heal decay.
I refuse to play your GARBAGE PVP anymore!
This is what your new changes have caused in RV!
1) all you see are corruptors and stalkers, "WHY?" because you gave them the heroes HIBERNATE!
3) All they do now is attack a few time Hibernate, then phaseshift, then run away!
What kind of garbage pvp system is this???????????????
There is a easier way to balance pvp.
1) Take away inspirations in pvp!
2) Dont allow phaseshift in pvp! or give phaseshift / or any type of crafted phaseshift a global daily use limit say 3 times total for any type of phaseshift used for the day.
I REFUSE TO PLAY YOUR GARBAGE PVP SYSTEM ANYMORE!
I'LL STICK TO PVE UNTIL THIS IS FIXED.
I'M TOTALLY SHOCKED YOU DIDNT LOSE HUNDREDS OF THOUSAND OF CUSTOMERS BECAUSE OF THIS RETARDED CHANGE!
IF THIS GARBAGE PVP SYSTEM ISNT CHANGED AND CHAMPIONS ONLINE PVP IS BETTER YOU CAN BET YOU'LL LOSE ALMOSE ALL YOUR CUSTOMERS!
I USED TO LOVE THIS GAME, BUT NOW I PROB WONT RENEW AGAIN!

I have never played it but numbers wise it looks like a great set, two AoE res debuffs looks sexy for teams.
[/ QUOTE ]
Acid Arrow is only a 7ft Targeted AoE, but if stuff is crawling around a corner due to Glue Arrow it's more than capable of hitting multiples. Other than that, good for bosses. Personally I just want Ice Arrow to sync up with the actual arrow and maybe the Poison Gas Arrow have a more substantial debuff, maybe even Flash Arrow having a bit of a debuff to it too, though then I'd have to drop Slug....
All that aside, it's a little less effective than it looks. It looks like, "Oh dood, -Damage, -ToHit, and all that -Res?! I'M IN!" So long as you don't realize the -Dam is less than half what a /Traps user can do, and only ~20% larger -Dmg than a /Rad can do (If you don't count the mitigation in -ToHit is like 1/5 what Rad can do).
[/ QUOTE ]Flash Arrow actually gives about the same -ToHit on an AV that Rad can do, because Flash Arrow's is unresistable.
[/ QUOTE ]
And that can be enhanced by Power Boost too...correct? PB'd, it'd be pretty sweet.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not really. Against an AV, 5% to-hit debuff is still rather underwhelming. I think that's what it slots out as. Can't remember. I know it's extremely low. Stacks well with thug enforcers thoughEvery little bit of chance to hit reduction helps them.
[/ QUOTE ]
Right, but again, if power boosted, it'd be an unresistable 9-10% tohit debuff, which wouldn't be that bad imho. Not awesome, but not bad. -

First and foremost any of you flaming can pretty much kiss my shield wielding [censored]. I didnt make this post to be flamed or to be insulted. Just because Ive been PvPing a few months doesnt make it alright to say "you are a n00b" Ive PvPed in other games not just this one. So you can go blow that smoke up someone elses [censored].
Ive killed my fair share of stalkers, brutes, doms, etc. This is why the PvP community sucks as it is. People who flat out think they can insult people and then wonder why no one comes to play with them in PvP. Who'd wanna play with a jackass who has 0 respect for anyone elses views.
The stuff Im talkin about prolly will never be changed. OK so be it, but it still doesnt mean that the community as a whole couldnt address the issue and it sure as hell doesnt give you the right to mock and insult me for having my personal opinion. "Ohh he said somethin about my power, GET HIM!" Screw off.
Sorry guess Im just not in your league of "Uberness" and I refuse to sink to it. I play on the level. Obviously you dont, and thats why PvP is in the state that its in now.
Hell sorry for tryin to have a intelligent conversation with morons. This is my last post on the PvP forums due to the A-holes in here, but you can be damn sure I'll be seeing you in RV. Oh and be sure to list your name if you play on freedom just so I can shove those rude and senseless comments right back down your throat.

You were ridiculed due to how you brought your problem accross the table. You immediately started to thrash about and cry your eyes out about things that you did not understand.
A MUCH better approach would have been to come in here and simply "ask" how to better deal with Stalkers and their high levels of stealth. NOT run in and start being a fool. I've read MANY posts asking how to deal with Stalkers, and for the most part, they get real answers based on their AT's and level ranges.
Had you approached the problem this way, you wouldn't have 50 people from these boards serving you your genitals on a silver platter after they find you in zone later, but...alas....you did not....so
...see you in zone...ON my Stalker lol.
Btw, not sure if you gave us your toon's names or globals yet, but that could help some, so we know for sure that it's YOU were are ripping to shredds. Kthxbi -

What gives? Has Super Reflexes been completely and utterly nerfed or what?
I've achieved close to 200% defense on SFs or on ITFs, etc, and it means nothing. I remember when Defense used to actually keep you alive, and now I might as well run toggless for all the good the endurance cost does me.
I implore the devs...please fix Defense. As it stands right now my SR Brute is almost utterly worthless. There are so many enemy groups that have accuracy enough that they can hit me right through my toggles. SR should have the same level of survivability as any other secondary brute set, and it simply does not. Either up the level of resist that gets afforded by the innate defense sets, or stop giving such ridiculous accuracy bonuses to enemies which turn our brutes into one-shotable nobodies.

This whole complaint is just...well...bs.
Now, if it was in the context of "pvp" then I "might" see his point...but definately NOT in pve. -

Ok, so the three AoE's (Lightning Rod+Thunder Strike+Chain Induction) doesn't equal the power of FS? Wow I knew FS was good but I didn't know it was that good!

The problem with LR and SC are they are both on ridiculously LONG recharge timers. Even fully IO'd out, you'd need a Kin or two to make sure they were up and useable just as OFTEN as possible. Otherwise, you're looking at about a 30 to even 40 second downtime between refreshes on those two powers, in that amount of time, do you know how many Foot Stomps could STILL be going off? Alot.
It's mostly the massive high refresh rate that hurts LR and SC, if it weren't for that (and they were useable say..every 30 seconds 'base') then hell yea Elec/Shield all the way.
Furthermore, LR (and I believe even SC) don't get the "full" benefit of a good Fulcrum Shift, since they are pets. This means that they both will cap out at only a 400% +dmg boost. Meanwhile, Footstomp, FSC, etc will all be able to get a FULL damage boost from a couple Fulcrums. This means they'll be dealing with an 850% +dmg boost. This can be a BIG difference in mob clearing.
Coupled with the long refresh timers, and you can see why while Elec/Shield IS awesome in it's own right, it can't quite touch Footstomp/Shield or */Fire.
Also, Chain Induction isn't the most dependable AoE imho, it can be quite unreliable somtimes. -

The thing is that we shouldn't have to do these workarounds. They should pull whatever caused this problem. Fix it. Then republish. They should also acknowledge that there is a problem and make some sort of statement about what they are doing to correct the issue. At the very least just say "We are aware and working on a fix. Please be patient. ETA for fix is(whenever)"

And FYI /elec now needs to use all 3 melee attacks just to equal the two melee attacks of /eng. All while /eng has a full ranged attack chain by lvl 10 lol.
/elec and /psi were bent over pretty hard. /psi might have deserved it, but /elec never hurt nobody other than in pvp.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh? And did you forget that */Elec still has Build Up...whereas */Energy still does not?
Cry moar later. Test and attempt to "adjust" for now.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ya that amazing 7.5% damage increase (14.3% with 95% enhancement) sure is awesomesauce.
/eng still has powerboost, ya that single power that Castle has publicly stated he dislikes because it trivializes so many things.
I'm not crying, just see no reason why /elec had to be nerfed.
Yes on test /elec is killing enemies about as fast (bit faster) out of domination and no where near as fast as live in domination. But had it not been nerfed it would be punchasizing faces to the extreme.
I've already clearly stated my position to Castle in the appropriate thread:
[ QUOTE ]
Hey Castle, looks like you might be watching this thread for a bit.
Few questions/observations:
1. Is domination in pvp having the +dam stripped? if so is there any plan to work some of that boost back into the base numbers as was done for pve?
2. Would it be possible for you to post the pvp numbers because they are very different than the pve numbers.
3. If one issue doms had was a lot of click powers available so they said they liked higher rech/higher dpa attacks (which seems to be the direction you went for most st stuff) how come /elec went the opposite direction? Was it overperforming to warrant such a nerf? Why move it away from the /elec manipulation blaster model that was very well received by the dom community?
4. Regarding /psi; I'm not convinced moving it to 4th place for ranged damage, last for melee and middle of the pack aoe is really "compensating" it for the PSW nerf and its former #1 in aoe position.
5. Are mental blast and subdue not basically the exact same attack now? Should subdue have its rech increased to be more like Bitter ice blast as was done with the other T3 ranged attacks?
6. /fiery was recognized as being the "ranged" set for players because it was so easy to form a complete ranged attack chain without ridiculous amounts of recharge. My earth/fire is a perma dom so will likely be very happy with the new fire, but it appears that a dom will need very high recharge to form a full ranged attack chain with fire. Wasn't the goal to move doms away from feeling the necessity for high recharge and the perma domination it led to?
7. Finally, these changes make it very apparent that doms are not intended to do anything more than low aoe damage and are intended to be st damage dealers. Basically: hold a room>kill them one at a time. If you consult your datamining records for the game how do st damage dealing specialists compare to aoe damage dealers in terms of team popularity? I'm just curious because you said popularity was a goal of these changes. I'm concerned that making doms a "solo" specialist won't go very far in buffing the popularity.
thanks

which from where I sit is about 6x more constructive than anything you've had to say on the matter.
So just like when telethons are on TV I now challenge you to meet or beat my feedback
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, what I've had to say IS about 10 times more constructive that what you've had to say. Why? Because you have NOT fully tested OR even digested the changes yet. Nor have you even begun to attempt to "adjust" to them either.
I called you out on that and I basically told you to attempt to try out the changes "first" (datamine, adjust, number crunch, [u]experience[u]) AND THEN come to your final conclusions on that matter. Jumping the boat, as you've done, is just fool hearty, and show's very little competence on your part.
So I have, indeed, added more to this thread than you and your whines/concerns.
Now, go test. -

Hello everyone,
My Fire/Cold corruptor recently hit level 41 and I'm having trouble deciding on what APP I should choose. I initially thought I would go with Mu Mastery for Power Sink, but I find that in most situations, my endurance is manageable. On the other hand, it still might be nice to have for times when Heat Loss is down.
Anyways, I'd appreciate any advice on APP selection. What powers are really good to get, and are any of the pets good? Thanks in advance.
[/ QUOTE ]
One thing that people need to include in these questions...is whether or not this is a "pvp" centric build or a "pve" centric build...because you will get two COMPLETELY different answers unless you do. So it's very important to include that in your question.
So, is this a "pvp" build or a "pve" build? -

I've seen it happen to Stalkers "after" an AS on well built Blasters too....the Blasters survived the AS (standing still...) as well as the couple follow-up attacks, they didn't heal and still killed the Stalker before Build Up + Aim was even expired...its pathetic to watch, but it happens. Squishy +res is outta control imho, but ymmv..
[/ QUOTE ]
Bad stalkers are bad...when i AS a blaster and they know its me..they run like hell or hibernates right away. I love when a blaster "thinks" he's going to attack me when i as him.....i just placate and AS him again. lol But yea that res is not that bad vs stalkers anyway....the critical part of AS is currently unresisted. Unless the stalker is bad and does not AS that res should not really matter to him.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yea, the AS hits decently hard, however, many/most Stalkers only have about 1-2 "good" follow-up attacks, and after those are spent they're pretty dry from what I've seen.
If they're sill alive it's Placate then continue attacking or leave, or Phase out to hamper the return fire. And those "1-2" good attacks are what get them screwed against the massive pvp +res for squishies. The experiences I've witnessed, are of course, against only Blasters due to their larger HP pool than most other squishies. I'd have to guess that the Blasters in question specifically built for some +HP values to survive at least 1 AS, and then the follow-up attacks are taken care of by the "remaining" +hp and the massive +res. Played correctly, most will not even have to heal after the AS, just return fire and attempt to kill the Stalker as he's exhausting his final two attacks, before he runs/phases, which is very possible given how much dmg a Blaster can deal.
Of course, this is when there's only "one" Stalker attacking them, add any other sort of damage into the equation, and that changes pretty quick haha -
[ QUOTE ]
i love hibernating stalkers in pvp.
i mean who doesn't love a power that allows a stormie to set up camp on top of you while you can't move.

Hibernate then roll off into Phase right out of it seems to work just fine for my Stalker vs. Heroes. Now...versus "other" Stalkers that doesn't always work out too well haha, if they time their attacks just right that is lol -

I've done this before, and for a "super fast" concept, nothing works better than Dark Melee. Period. DB is decent and "almost" appears to be fast, but it's really not, at all. If you want super fast speed attacks, DM is the winner, hands down.
I'd pair DM with either */SR or maybe */ELA to complete the "super fast" theme. -

I concur. PvP-wise, you might want to opt for an ice/cold. The ice attacks nicely minus the recharge time of your enemy and have some decent holds. Immobilise his/her attack rate and speed, decimate his/her defense and resistance, hold him/her, then kill kill kill kill!
[/ QUOTE ]
For PvE, this works.
For PvP, the damage in Ice Blast was completely gutted and it's one of the (if not the) least damaging sets. Rad Blast has some amusement value, especially given all of the procs you can load into it and how fast you can cycle the attacks (procs are, the last time I checked, unresisted damage in PvP).
Dark isn't too shabby either, though. If nothing else, it's better than Ice.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have to agree.
I have a lvl 50 Ice/Cold Corr that I pvp with frequently, and lets just say...Ice (and that particular combo) aint what it used to be...at all. It's decent, sure, but nothing to write home about. I'd pick Fire/*, Rad/*, or Dark/* over it any day honestly.
Also, slows in pvp are REALLY gutted, like crazy. Your Ice Blasts won't do hardly a thing for you in terms of -rech on your victim. Hell, Infrigidate barely slows pvp recharge down at all even...
Ice/Cold had it's hay-day, but I think that's the past now... -
[ QUOTE ]
so elec/sd brutes can be decent in pvp if built right?

Not really..
however...everytime I "mess around" with mine in pvp and actually land an "off-chance/lucky" kill with Shield Charge or Lightning Rod...it "almost" makes all the pain and suffering worth it haha, cuz it's sew funny lol
