I could swear he quit acting before that.
Yeah, Wikipedia confirms (insert standard [citation needed]):
Quote:Also, apparently he has definite plans to return on Fringe. In 2003, he announced his retirement from acting to concentrate on photography, but subsequently appeared in several television commercials with William Shatner for Priceline.com. He appeared in a commercial for Aleve, an arthritis pain medication, which aired during the 2006 Super Bowl. -
Quote:Given how many fixed points the Doctor seems to be involved in, one might conjecture that the Doctor's entire existence is a line of fixed points. But then you start getting into arguments about free will.I can understand a fixed point being something you can't go into and directly change.
But as pointed out, there gets to a point when you realise that any change can effect everything. Especially when earth's destruction was at stake, what if, in The Empty Child the Doctor hasn't been there and the whole world was recreated by the Nanogenes?
A whole host of fixed points would not be able to exist.
And since the whole concept of non-fixed points in time is that time can be changed or rewritten, there was no guarantee that the Doctor would be there to set things right.
I had a thought today: what happened to the Doctor and the Tesselecta crew when the Tesselecta Doctor was burned? They never had the opportunity to leave without River, Amy and Rory noticing. -
Quote:Yeah, there was the Doctor's rebellious teen period where he decided to stop defending Earth...River also has Rule Number One in her book. So anyone reading it knows it's very possible that the Doctor could have lied to her about how many regenerations he's been thru. The Doctor is famous for keeping secrets.
No the Atraxi are only aware of 10 incarnations that defended the Earth. They have no idea how many other incarnations existed.
And why would he lie to River? The entire point of the guide was so she would always be able to recognize him. -
Isn't this the same guy who quit acting, then appeared in Star Trek 2009 and Fringe?

they can't handle your funky phresh style and in-your-face attitude

Quote:Except for the fact that River Song has a book containing a list of incarnations 1-11 (minimally), complete with pictures.Well, only from our perspective. Since the Doctor's a time traveler and stuff anyway, the rest of the universe sees him with all sorts of different faces at all sorts of different times. There's really not much "outside" way to tell which Doctor came when.
The Atraxi also seemed to only be aware of 1-10, so if they saw a new Doctor running about they'd know it was 12+. -

Quote:You always could have "purchased" extra point bundles in Beta to bump yourself up to Tier 9.Nope, that's not it. Nifty-looking, but not it.
I was only Tier 7 in the VIP beta anyway, so I wouldn't have had access to the celestial stuff unless they did a global test unlock of it sometime while I wasn't looking. Despite my global account's May '04 creation date, I've had some long unpaid downtimes over the strange aeons, so the new tier system regards me as a bit of a piker.
I'm the same way with my account. I wasn't here in the beginning, but despite only having 3 and a half years of paid time I actually registered shortly before Issue 5.
Quote:I remember that mission from back in the day. I thought I also remembered hearing that the Powers that Be had 86ed it for being so eminently farmable, but if that's not the case, well, so much the better. It's still a rather silly badge requirement. Not as bad as when Zookeeper required, what was it, a thousand Rikti monkeys? Ten thousand? It was originally some truly laughable number... -
Quote:Hey, just like graduating college! It wouldn't be so bad if you were directed straight to Twinshot right out of the tutorial. Instead you get directed to someone who gives you missions but doesn't really teach you anything, and who introduces you to other contacts who also don't really teach you anything. You kind of have to go out of your way to pay attention to Twinshot, and yes, by that point you should already know most of what she teaches you.

Shouldn't it be "The Facepalmening"? The answer is yes.

Making direct reference to competition games (especially linking to wikis about them) is quite verboten by the forum rules, so don't be surprised when your post gets gutted.

They're for unlocking the ability to use capes and auras at level 1. I don't know if the Astral Merit version of the unlocks are account-level or character-level, but since the Market version is account-level then yes I think it would be pointless.

Is this someone who left ages ago, or are we talking about the person who was a long-time PinnBadger until he was silenced, banned (from the channel, not game), and then up and left Pinnacle a few months ago?
-
The glaring flaw in your plan is that it requires running Synapse.

Quote:The Doctor was inside controlling the droid, so it was still the Doctor saying it, just by proxy. So...Also also also... why did the doctor say he was 200 years older when it wasn't the doctor at all?
1. He actually is 200 years older, which may have happened in between episodes at a few different points during the past half-season
or 2. The Doctor lies.
Quote:What did the Doctor tell River? We've been lead to believe it was his name, but she says it isn't, but the only thing that makes sense with their reactions and such was that he said something about how he beat the time problem... but then what identified River as doctors wife if that's what he did say... -
Another still-hanging thread: Who was building the TARDIS in Craig's old house? Seems like if it had been The Silence that thread would have been resolved by now.
-
There's already missions in the game like this involving Syndicate, Destroyers, and Legacy Chain (although in the latter case, the Legacy Chain aren't weaker, you're just much much stronger).

Quote:Um, yeah, I don't know why I said unread, I definitely meant marked as read.Still happens to me occasionally when I log in.
Edit: Sorry misread that. What I was referring to was all posts being marked read, not unread.
And I take it back anyway, when I logged into the forum just now after getting up I found everything marked as read. So screw you, forum. -
Quote:I had the same thought on my Corruptor. Again, it's purely anecdotal, but it definitely doesn't feel like 50%.I'm wondering if anyone has noticed anything off about Defender spread values? Specifically Lancer Shot doesn't seem to spread half the time as the latest figures suggest.
Haven't done any scientific tests with it but I was hunting spawns in Talos using Lancer as a follow up to Disintergrate and it seemed a lot less than 50%
