Quote:There are plenty of people who play the trials for fun. There are also people who play just for the rewards. Welcome to the game.I believe content should stand on its own merits. You all seem to accept that the I-Trials are lacking but think that the solution is to drag other aspects of the game down to keep these above water. Which is because you all know in your heart of hearts that the I-Trails are being kept alive by people playing them for the rewards, not for FUN.
I seem to be the only person that thinks thats mad. -

Quote:The OP is slightly confused and so are you. He's referring to the Super Packs.Wait, what???
I haven't seen any mention of a CCG within the Power Packs (I also haven't had a chance to read every thread and there is a lot of new news popping up today). Can you please link to something or tell us where you heard about this?
Sounds interesting to say the least!
OP, maybe you should try becoming more familiar with an upcoming feature before making suggestions, it's not anything like what you've put forward.
The Super Packs are only available on the Paragon Market. It contains 5 "cards" (no, it's not actually a CCG, just styled after one), containing items of varying rarities (one of which is a guaranteed "rare"). Contained within the packs are a number of consumables (unslotters, XP boosters, team insps, etc.), as well as a pieces of a costume set exclusive to the packs, and the much-anticipated Archetype IOs. You can get duplicates of everything except the costume pieces, and the Archetype IOs will be sellable Wentworth's/Black Market/whatever the hell Praetoria's trading thing is called.
Many are understandably not happy with the prospect of items being made exclusive to a pack that must be purchased with real money. Making the ATIOs tradeable mitigates that a bit, but you know they're gonna end up as expensive as purples/PvP IOs, and the costume pieces would still be 100% exclusive. The packs aren't tradeable, and I'm not even sure they'll actually exist as an item unto themselves that could somehow be represented as a thing to be traded. It sounded like all you're buying is a random roll for 5 items. So no, there's nothing to collect here, unless you are Paragon Studios and the thing you want to collect is money. -
*shakes fist at complete inability to temporarily lose access to the game despite canceling sub*
That's really the part I hate about Freedom the most, I can't take a break from the game anymore, even when there's no Loyalty program. -

Inferno works in a similar manner (drains zero endurance besides its cost if there's no enemies around).
Reason? *shrug* Variety? Balance? -
It's not a straight port.

I think there's stuff still on the official site's public FTP, but ParagonWiki has an article with most of the music in the game (including some that isn't currently used): http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Music

Quote:You understand that the last two can be the same, right? You can have content that is perfectly soloable but still allows a team to attempt it. See: the rest of the damn game. You profess the ideal that the game should be inclusive of many playstyle preferences and in the same breath tell both the Raid lovers and the soloists to only play the way you like.
Guess what, this game is big enough to have all playstyles represented. We can have big raids, regular team sized content, and purely solo content.
You're being bizarrely obstinate here and I'm not sure why.
P.S. I'm also a mostly-solo player (no objection to TFs and trials, but anything else I usually play solo). -

FTFY
Anyway, meaningless comments about in-game art aside, I still don't see them killing off the character that drives the franchise, especially when we've still got his Mirror Universe counterpart waging war on our universe. Maybe if the two of them ended up killing each other off Superman/Doomsday-style (and we all know how that turned out), but we know that won't happen since Who Will Die? will be resolved before Praetoria is (and it seems WWD is pretty much entirely separate from that storyline anyway). Also, who are they going to give his Task Force to? Back Alley Brawler? Statesman's Task Force is the signature Task Force.
No, it just doesn't add up.
I'm liking Back Alley Brawler for this. He's not a contact anymore, and all of his current appearances could be said to be set prior to WWD (but let's not even get into that spaghetti mess of interlocking continuities and timelines; wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey). I could also see Synapse buying it, with BaB stepping in to take his place, giving the devs an excuse to revamp Synapse's Task Force (although this seems somewhat unlikely after the Player Summit, but who knows, maybe the devs didn't tell us everything).

Doubt we'd get that in a rated T game, but yeah, Slime colored red works great. On a semi-related note, I've also found that coloring it blue can make it look a bit like water dripping off your character (I guess it doesn't make much sense to have water perpetually dripping off your character, but it's just the idea that your character has recently risen from the sea, like some sort of sea creature).
So yeah, red and blue look great. Brown though...not so much. -
Quote:My disbelief was mostly focused on you applying "gorgeous" to her looks, although I'd admit to a little American conceit in there.I'm not a North American DG, so forgive me for not knowing who that was. I just liked the long face she has, much like Celine Dion, and the big round eyes, much like Alison Harvard. Having read who she is and what she does, yes, gorgeous as applied to anything but her looks isn't a word I would use to describe her. My apologies.

Look at it this way, your post here will help future people who see your post and realize there's nothing else of value here.

There was also a lot of laughter and applause, standing in stark and hilarious contrast to the gloomy and pathetic mood of the marketing panel.

Nobody can, it has nothing to do with your browser.

Quote:I don't even care about "pay to win" because there's no way to win in this game. It's the randomness and not knowing what you're going to get that bugs me. I'd be furious if I got 5 unslotters.Just an incidental tidbit of insight from an "Evil EA" entity. Not that I necessarily disagree with the idea of stuff being exclusive behind the random packs, just it's an interesting general aside with regards to the pay to win mentality and forum interactions.
