  1. I think it's pretty telling that both people in this thread who are taking this so "seriously" have "PvP Bootcamp Mentor" as a title.

Move along folks, nothing to see here.

    A Crash Blaster.

Don't forget Endless Destiny when you reach your Incarnate powers.

Not with ambushes like those described by the OP.
  4. Definitely been suggested several times. I believe the devs have said that it's not technically feasible or even possible, but I could be making that up, especially since it's April Fool's Day.

They remedied that "catastrophe" before it even went live so I don't know what you're talking about. The CoT also isn't the only revamped enemy group now, we now have new Banished Pantheon and Tsoo (and Knives of Artemis, kinda-sorta). This is what I'm suggesting, not really a wholesale revamp of the original group like the CoT but rather additional mobs encountered in the endgame.

In one particular MMO that's themed after a long running series of scifi TV shows/movies, you'd get some contacts that'd read their mission text... except it wouldn't be ones that were main characters or anything, it would be some random side character that you'll never see again. Now that's a "wtf?"!

Voice acting of a similar quality to that of the newest games like Skyrim (I always have subtitles on as well) would be nice, especially for that mid-mission text that just flashes on your screen, or during the cut scenes. But, at this point, that's really not a reasonable thing to do. Having only new content with voices would be a bit weird... especially when they bring in an older character that we've already developed our own voices in our heads... it would be jarring!
Yes, I'm certainly not suggesting that voice acting in video games is always bad all the time, but MMOs don't really tend to have the budget for non-terrible voice acting. Some of the voice acting in the game you described actually isn't too terrible (the recent cut scenes were neat to watch, even if it was jarring for your character to have unspoken text-only dialogue in the same scene), but then some of it is just bad, and it's not really consistent when you encounter it.

Then you have City of Heroes, which is a first-tier superhero MMO (not that that's hard to do), but certainly not a first-tier MMO. Paragon Studios can't even justify localization expenses anymore, they're not gonna splurge for voice actors, and no offense to the devs, but I don't particularly want to hear them trying to voice their own characters.
  7. Last night I had a dream where I was playing CoH, although I was half-playing and half-actually as the character (you know, one of those dream things). It was my Ill/Storm Controller, inexplicably a recently-made character street-sweeping in what I can only assume was Kings Row. I wanted to get a starter apartment (which I guess was a game option, basically like a base), so I went into this building that was filled with Vahzilok. Long story short I ended up being chased down a stairwell by the Vahzilok hoard, desperately trying to hold/confuse them one at a time, until I was saved by Adam Scott from NBC's Parks & Rec (yeah, I don't know either). Later he ended up showing me this place where you could get a base set up and it was right next to everything you needed (trainers, auction house, crafting stations).

    ANYWAY

My point is that the Vahzilok in my dream looked sort of like what we currently have in-game, only a lot more varied, and a lot weirder-looking. Grotesque creatures composed of a few disparate body parts (a head with arms and legs, for example), that sort of thing. With the advent of Incarnate-level versions of enemy groups, I'd like to see an upgraded Vahzilok somewhere down the line. Not content with his current progress, Dr. Vahzilok has turned to new ways of raising an undead army, perhaps mystical and/or Well-derived sources (fallen Incarnates risen to do his bidding, perhaps?).
  8. I couldn't not read that in Takei's voice. Oh my...

Why are you assuming they're at all related? No name changes for pedantry, thanks.
  10. You jest, but there are people who would seriously prefer text to be replaced with (ugh) voice acting.
  11. Yes, I'm set at GMT-5, but with corrections always on or auto, the time at the bottom of the page displays as GMT-4.
  12. 1. Automatic detection isn't working properly, at least not in the United States where it is observed. My time is showing as 12:01 AM when it is actually 11:01 PM.

    2. Turning corrections "always on" changed nothing. Turning corrections "always off" changed it to the correct time. These two settings may be WAI but the intention seems off; since we're currently in DST, it seems like the correction should currently be on, then turn off (whether automatically or manually) when DST ends later in the year.

He's going to. His point is that he wants to be reminded when it will be available for Flashback. Which, eh.

I agree, arc completion bonuses would be nice.

    Two points:

    1. Clearly the devs literally cannot do anything right; give the playerbase what they've been begging for after 7 years and a month later they start complaining about it.

    2. damn you for that pun, DAMN YOU SIR

One thing though, this *should* be a true level 50 incarnate zone, but until it's level gated and VIP only it won't be.
Although non-VIPs can go there, they can't do any mission content there, not even teamed with VIPs.

I'm disappointed that City of Heroes even exists.

Which is sadly why it will probably never happen. A bunch of other games with point systems work the same way, if not indeed all of them (Wii Shop, Cryptic Coins, I think XBox Live; just to name a few).
