Base Raids aren't dead because PvP is dead, they're dead because pathing was broken to allow people to be creative with their bases.

Quote:Watch that slippery slope, the same argument can be made for the real world.(Or ignore it, because you've got bigger things on your plate now and another starting-out hero will surely be along to save this person... or for the coldly practical, meta reason that due to the way spawns work in this game, you literally can't clean up the streets, ever.)

Quote:I think the intent is not to replace Statesman but merely to match the loading screen of the game post-I23, which I suspect will be changing with each issue thereafter. As much as I like Penny, I really think you guys are pushing her way to hard.
If she was to become a major player within the game, there really needed to have been a gradual build up to it.
You could have put in some tip missions or something where she helps you out as a budding young hero. That would have at least given some measure of visual advancement for her character.
The way it is right now she goes from a virtual nobody to replacing THE face of the game (Statesman). That's just too big of a step. -

Is there an option for "non-broken forum software"?
EDIT: I wasn't actually going to vote because they both look sort of crummy, but then I saw what option 1 looked like full-size, and I'm mortified to see that it's winning (and by such a large margin). Look folks, I know Penny's face looks dumb in option 2, but do you really want her staring DIRECTLY INTO YOUR SOUL every time you view the forum??
I am begging whoever is in charge of this, if it must be option 1, please please PLEASE at least fix the eyes so they're looking to the side or something. It's incredibly unsettling. -
I have to agree, I was expecting something a little more interesting than the standard Nemesis spawns that were first introduced 8 years ago. Seriously devs, you couldn't even give us the War Horse??? THIS WAS THE PERFECT TIME!!

Quote:This seems to be how the game handles characters teleporting away upon defeat. They don't actually teleport away, they just do the teleport animation, turn invisible, and are supposed to no longer attack you. This was especially obvious to me recently when I ran The Magic Man on my Stalker. After defeating one of the boss' duplicates, I ran off to re-Hide before the next duplicate showed up. Got back into position for an Assassin's Strike, and noticed a to-hit debuff had been placed on an invisible entity right where I had defeated the first duplicate.
1) Why does she stay at all? Shouldn't the game forcefully remove her? You could fix that.
Quote:2) Use whatever code the game does to remove defeated NPCs after a certain amount of time, if it really removes them when they disappear. That would make her disappear completely.
Quote:3) Make her "con" as an ally. Obviously, she attacks because she is an enemy. -
I say we get Adam West back and cast him as Old Bruce Wayne in a Batman Beyond movie set in present times with Bruce's heyday as the 1960s. The entire movie would be played totally straight but retain its campy history (Bruce becomes disillusioned as the 60s fade into the 70s, Joker goes from being goofy prop comic to actual psychotic killer).

Tier...5???
Anyway, I wouldn't count on it happening. The Incarnate System was specifically designed around us crafting multiple powers. -
Quote:It doesn't matter what kind of shirt/pants he's wearing. That's not spandex. It's armor. Hence the rivets. Its a model of the armor from the Arkham series of games.
He is dressed like a bat. Realism went out the window 73 years ago.

Anyway, what I'd love to see is the setting of Batman Beyond brought to live action. Probably couldn't happen at least until another reboot since otherwise audiences might think it's a continuation of the Nolan films andbe confused

Can someone explain what "amplifiers" are supposed to be? Kinda can't answer that on the player survey without knowing what it is...
EDIT: Never mind, found the feedback thread on the Beta forum. Ugh, good thing I went with my instinct and rated is the lowest for interest. -
Yes, because leather is clearly more silly-looking than spandex.

It's honestly sort of baffling there hasn't been a badge for it, although the current way muggings are set up may preclude the possibility of tracking them. They might have to retrofit them as mini zone events or something, which would prevent them from being used in any zone with phasing tech.

Quote:In fact...wasn't the Well missing when we went on that mission to the Cimeroran cave map?I'm pretty sure the Well was in Cimerora at the time. Ergo, the mission where you try to become an incarnate by going to a cimeroran map. Since Requiem was in the place at the time, it is quite possible that he managed to contact the Well and gain incarnate status before it left Cimerora.

Quote:Which is still not why Superman stops muggings. He doesn't do it for the acclaim, he does it because it's the right thing to do.But in this game, influence =/ dollars. Influence is a reward for doing something that helped the world (infamy = the opposite). Getting even 1 inf for defeating a hellion would say "hey, this isn't worth much, but it means something".
Also, sorry, influence in this game is money. See Memphis_Bill's post.
SinisterDirge has the right idea actually, a random inspiration drop would make sense thematically and isn't really anything that could possibly be exploited. A good deed is its own reward...in that it inspires you to continue doing good deeds. -
Yeah, no. I know it seems like it can't be exploited if it's just 1 inf, but I'm sure someone would find a way.
Even assuming it couldn't be exploited, I'd still say no. Heroism is its own reward. Superman doesn't stop muggings because he gets a dime every time he does it (which he doesn't, by the way), he stops muggings because he's a nice dude and despite his nigh-godlike abilities (depending on the writer), he's not above helping an average person. Victims already thank you when you save them, if you're really a hero that ought to be more than enough. -
Keep in mind that a lot of people have selected the Helper title simply because it makes their character name yellow instead of blue (same with people choosing Help Me! so it will turn their name purple). It's a totally broken system and the colors really should just be removed entirely so that only people who actually want to help are designated Helper.

Wow, revisionist history right in the first sentence. Amazing.

Get out now, while you still have your sanity!!!
More seriously, for when you get to Ouroboros challenge badges, the wiki has a handy checklist you can use to keep track of which challenges you've already done so you don't have to look at your badges and try to figure out which ones you still need.
Color B&W -
One of the Nijitsu toggles does it too (the second one IIRC, too lazy to check the name), which honestly looks cooler with that animation.
As for why the Power Pools don't have customization yet? You're right, it's not a huge technological hurdle to do that, considering we already have both color and (limited) animation customization in the main powersets. The main issue is developing an interface to do it, since Power Pools aren't granted at character creation. Incarnate powers (those that can be customized) let you customize any of the powers per slot once you unlock it, but Incarnate powers aren't structured the same as powersets and power pools (no respeccing, can have multiple crafted albeit not slotted). So do you just make it so every character has the option to customize powers from pools that may never use? Is that even possible? It's a development issue and the devs know we want it, it just needs all the kinks worked out of it. Think of how long it took for us to get regular customization.
And after writing all that, I realize you're not asking for customization, you're asking for wholesale replacement, so that answer is even easier -- because some people like the animation for Tough the way it is. I honestly don't care one way or the other (although if you swapped the animations for Tough and Super Strength's Rage I wouldn't complain), but I'm sure plenty of folks do like it and would scream bloody murder if it were changed. -
Yes, that's what I was referring to.
