I23 Launch date! Maybe...

Seems there has been some changes w/the WST listings. This one is of interest:

Quote:
May 29th to June 4th - The Ms. Liberty Task Force (from Ms. Liberty in Independence Port)/ The Lord Recluse Strike Force (from Lord Recluse in Grandville)
Now we know, from Beta discussions/leaks, that Ms. L was gonna be taking over State's TF. Can anyone honestly think of a better way to reintroduce that TF than have it as the Blue-side WST the week I23 would be realeased?

Thank you for the time...

Yeah because that premature slip up wouldn't be because they're planning to release the issue and they corrected it to not tip off people or anything.

The issue, sans Hybrid, is pretty much done. There haven't been any glaring issues with the costumes (that haven't been fixed) No problems with Nightward. They're still fixing the personal mission in the new incarnate arc. The Magisterium trial is pretty much done save some tweaking. They're decided on what to do with the STF and won't be switching Babs around in Atlas til a later issue.

That's pretty much I23. Updates on beta are growing fewer and farther between, just like I22. And there's no Power sets to hold up anything.

I think we're going to see a patch this thursday or next thursday on beta then the following Tuesday the issue will launch.

After that they'll probably throw the three announced power sets onto the beta and switch it over to I24 in a month or two.

And hey if I'm right, new shinies! if not, oh well, more waiting!

Well the Chainmail pieces are still weird for those of us with low-end computers, but I assume they're working on that.

Hm, thought that had been fixed last patch. Still, I expect there's going to be at least 1 more beta patch before the release.

Y'know, I forgot to look at the chainmail pieces we can buy in the store. The Black Knights' chainmail I saw in beta yesterday still had that error and I just assumed it was the same for players. I need to check this out now.

Considering that i22 was released on top of a very popular space soap opera, I'd say i23 coming out on top of another big release makes sense.

Okay, checked out the player chainmail and it still has the same issue:

Yes the chainmail textures do need to be fixed and they are important to those who want them fixed ASAP. But those problems only exist for people who aren't running with Ultra-level graphics settings. For what it's worth the chainmail already looks great on my main gaming computer.

If they plan to push Issue 23 out the door by say May 15th this current chainmail problem will NOT hold it up. They'll simply fix it as soon as possible -after- I23 goes live.

I agree that it's not something that should hold the issue back, I was just commenting that it's still a costume issue that hasn't been fixed.

It does make me wonder though... would the same be true if a costume looked good for people like me but didn't look good with Ultra Mode graphics?

I would say more than likely yes. A few brand new costumes items (that no one has ever "needed" to play the game for 8 years now) that are only "broken" for a subset of the players should never by themselves be enough to hold any Issue back from being launched. This is far from being a "critical game bug" that would prevent anyone from otherwise playing the game.

was the chainmail set coming out with i23 or was it just gonna be a market item? if its only a market item then they wouldnt have any reason to hold i23 back aside from the hybrid incarnate slot (which i still HATE the click buff setup of it)

The Chianmail & Leather Armor are "VIP Free" sets for I23, So I'd imagine they might want to make sure they are 100% good-to-go for I23.

Thank you for the time...

No one's saying that this costume set will not or should not be ready by the time I23 launches. Obviously it's probably safe to say that everyone wants it good to go on launch day.

All I'm saying is that a few graphics problems with a few new costume items are not, by themselves, going to be critical enough to delay an entire Issue for. The Chainmail & Leather Armor set is hardly the defining feature of this new Issue. We've already seen in the past several instances where "broken" costume items have been pushed out the door only to be quickly fixed by subsequent patches.

Sure it would be unfortunate if I23 launches with broken costume items. But it would hardly be the end of the world if it does.

Well that's also assuming that if the costumes are still broken they do let them go live instead of letting everything else that -is- working go live while letting the costumes get released in a future patch (probably 1-3 weeks down the line).

I hate to be the naysayer, since I'm as eager for i23 as anyone, but I doubt that Hybrid is going to be ready for release in the next couple weeks. Arbiter Hawk's latest discussed changes haven't even made it onto beta yet, much less tested sufficiently. And testing Hybrid at all is tricky, since you can only unlock it via Magisterium, and after the first few days of the beta it's become difficult to gather enough players on the beta server to run the trial.

Be the naysayer. The Magi Trial unlock for Hybrid is just another form of "new salvage" for the Incarnate system only now it's the ixp that's new instead of the components.

Costume parts - Ultra mode isn't exactly the running standard. And since it has been such a long time since proper armour has been put into the game; best to get it patched-up asap.

For now; there's the 8th anniversary celebrations going on and we have no idea what's left on the plans for world domination by Nemesis.

Also: I want the i23 launch delayed because a friend who has wanted the Celestial stuff for almost a year is just one token away from the full set. Launching at the end of May would be after token day for her and I really want her to get it.

I'd just give her the 15 bucks to drop for the points and the token with it, why leave it up to chance if she wants it that bad? >>
