Yeah sorry, the DataLink worked for me so I assumed it would work for everyone.
Code:And holy crap yeah, somehow I forgot about the ridiculous cost of Death Shroud (I'm not actually running this yet, I'm still on mostly SOs). I could probably free up other slots somewhere else, although from the way you're talking it sounds like I should abandon the idea of defense entirely since it's going to bork my build (which from the sound of it is already borked, as most of my slotting is unchanged between the two builds).| Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1407;714;1428;HEX;| |78DA9D93D96E52511486F76128050E5329435BE9484B8142DB3B870BA31DD4A6243| |58D43AA11911E0B11A18183D63B1FA0CE89266A1DDEC2E82B698C7A63E2806BFDEB| |D0B4B79EC0FF9DBDF6DAFBDFACB529EC2CEA4ADD3FA934EF42ADD46A154F37DBA6E| |12C94B6AA657DC1ACB46B95F6E842A9597329A5A2982C168C9A61E4174BCD5BF21A| |97F0A271D3A8B7AC8953CDDB8D66E85CBD62348DBA99EFBEE86B8D462DBF5C35EB4| |6AB258355A3B45DAD6F793058DF368C4D9F95B455316922B6B45D2DE7C562BDD1AE| |150BA5966934EFC5E94069FA7E56DDA763534B8484EA5906F433C04B9ED390E0541| |97A49295B563003F8731AE7C5F3847935368BD197EE225AA5FDB2F14CCF6F40FF03| |4CFC05521D20A3EC8CD7946FB7BCECE2E5102FC701AFD421AF947252719DB24A397| |38A67BE92BAC4DEEE0A63EFDE7E410488C6803DCA705B866E31F488A1470CA36238| |2C86E959204A5B7B2D43EF4F54C945219F8434DF0A4A307F114BDF502CA0796011F| |0D97926E8170480E120900C01993EE01BE58750C18E33B48B1AF53D103C04861F01| |A38F054F805E3A45584E610F3F45A8FF99E039907B01C4282F22E551912154E2150| |D62D66F8ADD4111BF930E682E9C61407A38283D1C941E8E490F27A48729E9E1382D| |18928D6C43596C74E41078C784986B89B3A85E6E05F8413A22338E91EB481E2D03C| |91212923730CA6C02EF49C7C5C931DE42CD274C20D506D277A5113B809D7C27ADE2| |4CC6109A8A0B92E8D4D43450A69F316D9D6F7A0F4EE9B7C03BD2AC659875A14F33B| |D02B7C003E4BCA884830CF3567ADE839B33EB15E8023F301F000C5A34673565EE83| |54CCB1FFE7A40F3D6AF56044EEFA9A63FFAFA634242D7392B6C1918E3B885425EBF| |FEBF9A8773DDDE7E91E6BEB7C992FB05CE2E165960D962B1CBBCA728DA5884BFF69| |7F75E0289FEB18CB7196132C113A9FDAE54C9797C4CBA2B3F858FC2C0196204B986| |590658FA5F30FE7EEF0D9| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|

Quote:Even weirder, 30 months was on May 17th, 2009 (pretty sure there was no inactivity there...). Oh and also 27 months is missing from the list in my account info, even though I do have the badge for it.I'm a little confused as to how your account lapsed on the 15th while you were earning rewards on the 26th, unless you simply meant that you shut off payment on that date.
I'll submit a petition then. -
I got 33 months on September 26th, 2009, then let my account lapse on November 15th (the day the Loyalty program ended). I renewed on February 10th and my account has been active since then. Seems like I ought to have hit 36 months by now. I know when it's getting close the 36 month reward will appear on my account page grayed out, but so far nothing. Am I doing the math wrong or is something screwy?

Quote:You consider a text-only version of the game and visual sounds to be believable???Just remember, the Devs love to pull a believable gag on April Fool's Day, so no matter what they post, take it tongue in cheek. Unless, you know, a patch comes down the pipe, and it actually happens. Then I'm, like, totally wrong.

Remarks: The original version of this build emphasized recovery in the set bonuses for obvious reasons, but I wanted to see if I could build up a decent amount of defense with set bonuses and Weave. Death Shroud suffered for the former, and Darkest Night was removed for the latter. My hope is that the Theft of Essence and Performance Shifter procs will make up for the lost recovery (0.76/s is the difference between the two builds), along with Dark Consumption of course.
Thoughts?
P.S. I also ended up moving the Steadfast off Dark Embrace and into Tough so I could get the 6x Titanium Coating bonus; I'm uncertain if only having +4 KB protection from Karma will cause any knockback/down issues for when I exemp below 33, can anyone confirm/deny this? I assume the only things that might cause issues are AVs and GMs, but I've never really been clear on critter KB magnitudes. -
-
I dunno about soloing AVs but War Mace suits Shield Defense quite well. It's a bit of an endurance hog though, since War Mace is as end heavy as Shield, but damn is War Mace worth it.
-
Caveat: the LotG 7.5% recharge unique is separate from the regular 7.5% recharge bonus, so you can have 5 7.5% bonuses, and 5 LotGs 7.5%s.

Quote:What about having him unlock his maximum genetic potential and/or become more in-tune with time itself (along the lines of Doctor Who, where it is said that a Time Lord that absorbs the heart of the TARDIS becomes a mad god)?Me? I'm a time-travelling genetic experiment. I ain't becoming an incarnate. That's why I'm hoping this system is related to incarnates without simply being 'become an incarnate. yay'. I can see why some people would want that, but in-game incarnates are currently meant to be the ultimate. If everyone's an incarnate, then just how powerful are Statesman and Recluse anymore?
If it is becoming an incarnate, then I'll be making a new character specifically to do so, but not using it on any of my existing characters. It may cause my namesake to not be maximum awesome, but he'll make more sense in my head.
I know I'll definitely be taking my first villain (Bots/Dark) incarnate, since its power was always meant to grow without limit (although like others have said, I'll only do this if being incarnate isn't the same as being Incarnate). -
Quote:There's actually no boundary between Peregrine and Talos.I don't have a huge issue with them, but they do seem like they're only there to establish zones and boundaries. More than anything else, it kind of mars the skyline.
Take Peregrine (or the Rogue)Isle(s) for example. There's no sudden giant wall visually blocking you from the edge(though, the Rogue Isles do have walls that appear when you reach an edge), it looks more open, even though you know there's a boundary, it doesn't readily look like there is.
It's entirely an aesthetic thing to me. -
Quote:Just goes to show how little I pay attention to the History badges.Yeah, they went out of the way to make it clear. However if you looked at the history tab with unfinished badges, it would have been obvious.
Also, whenever I do go for them I always grab the plaques all at once, so there's never any reason to look at the badge meters for those.
-
I wouldn't bother thinking about builds for this, if base raids do come back it's not gonna be for a while and they're probably not going to resemble the old style base raids (and even if they did, the game has changed a lot since then). If you really wanted to be prepared for the return of old style base raids, work on a PvP build for your character, since that's what base raids were.
EDIT: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Base_Raid
EDIT x2: My original post is slightly inaccurate, I didn't realize base raids were only turned off with I13, I thought it was much sooner than that. -
I've gotta be honest, a melee set with tons of knockback seems like a bad idea. How often do melee toons complain about Energy Blast teammates? Hopefully it's mostly knockup/down.
-
Have they always had meters (since there were meters I mean)? I don't recall noticing that before.
-
Quote:Which is why I said "admittedly unfounded" -- I also do not know what gave me this idea. Possibly the assumption that I never remember which ones I've clicked, so why should the game?I have no idea what gave you that idea. It flies in the face of evidence of the badge progress meters.
But I don't see how badge progress meters make me wrong.
EDIT: Whoa wait, history badges have meters? Since when??? -
What you want would end up costing you $10-20 from the NCStore anyway. if you can find it that cheap on Amazon or eBay, there's no difference, either way you're upgrading your account with a code for access to goodies.
That said, it would be nice if they put that pack up, it's the only "perk" that is currently unobtainable. -
Footstomp, of course, does not work while flying.
-
That's the thing though, I can't really think of any significant problem that Mids' even has. A few bugs and oddities, sure, but that's software for you. The interface is pretty easy to work with. Besides, this tends to be the sort of thing that is better handled by the community. It's low priority, yet it's a relatively simple enough project (and I don't wish to diminish the work of Mids, St0n3y, Steiner, or anyone else) that can be handled by a player with a sufficiently intimate knowledge of the game as well as programming ability.

Quote:"Not gonna happen" has different reasons behind it depending on what the thing is. Power Customization wasn't gonna happen because it was a Cryptic (at the time) resource issue. Paragon Studios has greater resources. So it happened.I may just get stuck with having to do this. Suck starting over level 1.
But it may happen, I never thought they would do multiple builds and although people like to say, "never going to happen" a lot on these forums, things tend to eventually happen.
For a long time even the Devs would say the Power Customization wasn't possible now we have it.
However this? I don't see it as a problem, I don't see how it would be hard to do after allowing multiple-builds.
Web-slinging (Never going to happen, even I believe that one.)
Dual Archetypes isn't gonna happen for the reasons people have already laid out. It's pointless, and unless you're expected to earn double experience it would result in a bunch of people playing level 50s they don't know how to play. -
You know, it's never really wise to preface a suggestion with "please don't flame me if you think my idea is dumb". It gives the impression that you realize on at least some level that the idea is dumb, in which case you've wasted everyone's time (including your own).
Anyway I agree with basically 0% of what you've proposed. The micro-transactions we already have are iffy for me, tying in stuff that has a significant effect on actual gameplay (no, Mystical Fortune and Self-Destruct don't count) to real money would be disastrous. Expanding respecs to change your powersets would also not work for so many reasons that have been rehashed ad infinitum on these very forums. I would definitely like to see the Shard revamped in some way, but not in a paid expansion. As for an official offline character builder, there's no reason for it. We have Mid's. It's updated pretty quickly; maybe not on day 1 of a new issue, but what makes you so sure you'd get that with an official builder? I doubt it would be very high priority for the devs, as it would drain resources from the actual game.
For some reason you don't want any criticism of your ideas (going back to my first point in this post), but even if this were in the right subforum (it's not, you want Suggestions), this is the Discussion forum. Simply discussing what we perceive to be the flaws in your ideas does not equate to flaming. -
Does the game even remember, from session to session? I was under the impression (admittedly unfounded) that the game would forget which plaques you had touched if you logged.
-
-
Maybe they can put a few Task Forces in there.
-
I was just thinking this as I was scrolling down reading the new posts in this thread. You can make an RP justification for just about every powerset in the game, save a few exceptions, but I can't imagine a way to do the same for a set whose very definition of magical spells -- unless you tie it to an EAT whose origin is always Magic. Only thing with the Vanguard Wizards, though, is that their origin would probably be Tech.
