...Was I the only one whose mind immediately went to Rush Limbaugh when they read the topic title?

Emphasis mine. I strenuously disagree with your statement that Infected Anti-Serum is "useless" (what?!?) and threaten legal action if you persist in these clearly nonsensical statements.
-
Reshaping the world to fit his ideal? Yeah, that fits pretty soundly under the classic megalomaniacal behavior of a Villain. Although frankly, I would say that Hamidon at this point transcends mere villainy into some other category.
-
Another thing you can do is grab powers that can be used as IO mules.
- Combat Jumping and/or Maneuvers as a mule for a Karma KB or LotG +Rech (or even Kismet +6% Acc if that's your cup of tea, although that one is unique).
- If you like to do a lot of Task Forces (or even just regular teaming), Stealth and Recall Friend would be two good powers to take that wouldn't need any slots (Stealth would also be another place to slot LotG: +Rech).
- Air Superiority might be another option; although you wouldn't be slotting it, the knockup and -Fly would both be handy mitigation tools for a Blaster.
-
Would it really kill you to not play a non-CoH game for 15 minutes? (Less, really, I usually end up with 8 minutes left on the timer by the time I finish the mission. Personally, I like spending those 8 minutes circling the mission door using the power as much as possible. SPLODE.) If you happen to want to take a break right at the moment you're doing the arc, just don't take the mission until you return to the game.

Superman is as weak against mental attacks as anyone else, I think, so along with Psychic/Mental-based powersets he would also succumb to Illusion Control.
I disagree that Masterminds would be weak against him, he's struggled against robots before, and if you take demons to be Magic origin (which they aren't necessarily, but usually are) he would be particularly weak against them, the same possibly with Necromancy. The Poison secondary might also affect him, depending on which interpretation of Superman it is and precisely what sort of poison we're dealing with.
In the DCAU, he's shown a vulnerability to electrical attacks.
Kinetics would probably slow him down quite a bit if given the chance, same with Gravity Control.
It could be argued that a Kheldian's power level might be on a cosmic-level scale, in which case they might prove a tangible threat.
Given that Soul Mastery seems to be magic-ish based, he would probably not be able to stand up to Soul Storm on his own, much as no single player character can against Ghost Widow's version of the power. -
That's the 3-month Veteran Reward, you definitely should have it.

*shrug* Looked fine to me. I don't understand your ridiculous hyperbole.

I don't think I have a build for that yet. I haven't had a lot of time to devote to any aspect of this game recently, and frankly I'm kind of dreading having to partially rebuild all of my characters post-I19 (although it will help some of them).
I certainly don't plan on the Medicine pool as it breaks with my concept (which is a shame but what can you do), and Acrobatics would be a waste since I already have two KB IOs slotted (BotZ in Fly, Karma in Hover; these are your best bet for KB protection by the way). Hmm...yeah, looking at it there's really nothing I want to do to change this character (and he may be one of the ones I leave un-respecced, hopefully he won't need one later down the line). The only things I could imagine taking at this point are Super Speed, Lightning Field/Clap, and/or Surge of Power, but I probably wouldn't slot any of them beyond the first slot since it would requiring either losing set bonuses or gimping other (better) powers. -
Only Cosmetic Surgeons will let you change gender. They can be found at any tailor.

Looks almost exactly like my Blaster's build, except with Super Speed swapped for Fly (concept reasons).
I focused on ranged defense: 6-slot Thunderstrike x2, 6-slot Mako's Bite x3 (the third one went into Shocking Grasp, although you could easily swap with Lockdown since the bonus is the same), 6-slot Lockdown, 4-slot Basilisk's Gaze (only because I didn't have the slots to 6-slot another set of Lockdown in Shocking Bolt), 2-slot Blessing of the Zephyr, 3-slot Eradication. This brought me up to 29.6% ranged defense, which is not soft-capped but still quite respectable. With Charged Armor slotted you've got 27% Smashing/Lethal Resistance for those melee occasions.
Disclaimer: I haven't tested thus under very heavy conditions too much, but it seems to hold up well. -
Quote:That would be pretty redundant since they already did that with Bizarro.I also can't help but feel that Smallville's "Darkseid" is going to literally be Clark's dark side manifested in a terribly CG'd form. I always expect to be disappointed with this show. I'd drown my bitterness in Flash cakes if I could find any around here.
Did you see the first episode of the new season? We've already gotten our first look at Darkseid. -
Quote:Let's put it this way: what power would you replace it with? Because I can't imagine what else might be so much better than a pet that heals, holds, debuffs to-hit, and even draws aggro.Well i understand all that, but with dark servant being so unpredicable on what powers it will use...healing, holds, terror,ect....is it even worth having with a mm build
Fluffy is an awesome pet, just because it doesn't do damage that doesn't make it worthless. And it's a hell of a lot more predictable than most Mastermind primary pets, anyway. -
The theme to Superman: TAS. (This is an extended version of it, for some reason I couldn't find the original on YouTube. Thanks, Warner Bros.!)

Not sure about Coz but PinnBadges will require you to have a channel op unsilence you before you can say anything in channel.

Quote:I don't think it'll necessarily be a long time if enough people complain about it. Remember that they completely reworked the visual effects for Sonic due to similar complaints.the developers are never going to completely remove some power effects. E.G. Fire Aura is always going to wrap your avatar in flames, and Dark Armor is always going to wrap your avatar in shadows.
That being said, the developers are open to alternate animations and lessoned effects. It's probably going to be a long while before the teams lead by Noble Savage and BaBs can put together new animations for things like pulse armors, if they ever do. -

Yes and no. You can register on the forums well after you've created your account. Note my forum reg date of February 2006 -- I started playing July 2005.
EDIT: And what wonderful forums they are. I just got logged out while attempting to edit this post. -
It was Blood of the Black Stream, not Black Islands in the Stream. I think the only other rumored EAT was Incarnates, which of course we are now getting in another form.
Vet rewards came about in Issue 8 (October 2006), so I believe Jack was still with the game at the time. -
I'm not a big fan of soda but I've become quite fond of Johhnie Ryan. I'm not sure how widespread it is though.

Mine were by e-mail. Definitely sounds like different reps are using different approaches.

To be honest I didn't fully read your list, I skimmed it and saw a bunch of fairly silly and even some outright wrong criticisms (New Posi isn't really new? Try running it before you make this statement, it may be a rework of an existing story but a good chunk of it is new and it clearly demonstrates more work put into it than the original TF).
It probably helps your point of view to imagine me as a fanboy who loves literally everything the devs do but it's not true. I've been extremely vocal about my dislike of the new market interface and the ridiculous (and unchangeable) difficulty of Praetoria, and the Mission Architect was handled pretty badly too (they are taking steps to remedy this, but it shouldn't have been necessary to begin with). I'm also not fond of how they seem to push some features before they're fully tested or sufficiently debugged (again, MA).
The main issue I had with what you said was this:
Quote:If you seriously still stand by this after that ginormo-list of new stuff that has been added to the game then man, I don't know what to tell you. I can't imagine what your expectations are.Something occurred to me while writing this post. I really wonder if not having a direct competitor has actually hurt this game lately. Champions On-Line came out and proved to be such a joke that everyone seems to be laughing it off. I think Paragon Studios has too. Heck, even DC Universe On-Line won't really be a direct competitor since it is a console game adapted for the PC and that rarely works out the greatest. Without a direct competitor though, this company may be doomed to stagnation since there is no other game to out do, nothing to push it.
