  1. I'm sure it's all the devs' fault and has nothing to do with the endless BAF and Lambda Sector trials that have been forming up in RWZ since Tuesday.

This is clearly the fault of the devs rather than the individual internet connections of the users having issues.

Both are Incarnates, neither have Accuracy Shards because given the previous evidence, I can't see the point.

So yeah, I want to know what's up here, too.
This is a perception thing. Track your actual combat numbers with HeroStats and you'll probably find everything working as expected.

It's tough to tell when someone's making a joke with ludicrous statements when there are people who are making the same ludicrous statements seriously. I'm honestly at the point where I'm not even sure who I am anymore.
  5. I can't believe you missed the obvious solution, which is to reduce its length by about 80%. That alone would get people running it again.

I agree with bumping the level range up to 50 though, it seems weird for it to be 40-44 when the rest of the Shard TFs aren't.

    'Nuff said?

Yeah, they should just code something up, toss it in there. I don't understand why the devs don't just whip up a fresh batch of code and toss it right into the game, then everyone would be happy.

Non-sarcastic version: Content takes development time. You're talking basic concept design, concept art, actual coding (which is not as simple as everyone makes it sound), testing, more coding, more testing, maybe even redesigning half the stupid thing because it turns out the original design was partially or totally unfeasible.

It -- takes -- time. If the devs had added in this extra hypothetical content, Issue 20 would not be out right now. Sure, you might be happy to wait, but then there would be another group of people angry that the Issue had been delayed for content they have no interest in.

P.S. This issue actually does include two brand-new TFs that have no connection to the Incarnate System (okay, the Strike Force has a connection, but it's tenuous at best). So go enjoy those.
  7. I consider myself a casual player (I only really get to play on weekends, maybe a task force on a weekday evening after work if I'm lucky) and I have two 50s with Very Rare Alphas slotted. So it doesn't really require that much of a grind. (Of course, I don't really have an active social life on weekends, so I guess maybe take that with some grain of salt, but I don't grind out TFs all weekend either.)

I find it very interesting that you compare the current state of the game to The Unspeakable while at the same time lobbying for more zone-wide non-instanced content (by the way, check out the zone events in the 3 Praetorian zones, they're quite fun and don't need a large gathering of people to complete, they're even soloable for most 50s). My understanding has always been that instanced content is what sets CoH apart from its competitors, while at the same time leading to the misperception of low population due to zones seeming "empty".

None of this should suggest that non-instanced content doesn't happen, by the way. I don't know when you left the game, but in the past several years chat activity has moved out of Broadcast and into global channels (usually themed to a specific server, but not always, and still global anyway). Try joining your server's most active global channel (for Pinnacle, you want PinnBadges or Cozmic's Playground); although you will still see a good amount of TF teams forming, you'll also see teams running tips missions, newspaper/radio missions, and running other badge content, which yes does include GMs. One night a year or two ago I actually put together an impromptu "Giant Monster Death Panel", bringing a team across Paragon defeating every GM blueside (except for Jurassik, who had very rudely not spawned). It was loads of fun, but it was put together in PinnBadges.
  8. I still cannot understand the rationale behind wanting solo access to powers that are most useful on team content and would completely trivialize already-easy regular content. The best argument I've heard is that your interests are not being met, but you know what, neither are those of the base-building and PvP communities. You can't always get what you want. It sucks that you're not getting any new stuff, but you are making the choice not to play the new content, and the devs can't do everything at once. Right now they're focusing on Incarnate content. 5 years ago they were focusing on Villain content. Priorities change.
  9. Liver failure would be my guess. Had to happen eventually.
  10. Not really related, but in your Announcement post the "Join in the discussion here" link doesn't work, it seems like it's a link to a hidden subforum because I'm told I don't have access to it.
  11. Prepare yourself -- you will never match the level of power you exhibited in Mender Ramiel's first mission. The powers you were granted (such as Limitless Radial Freeem) were never intended to be previews of actual Incarnate powers and you will never be able to curbstomp a map full of AVs. Although IIRC one of them did actually grant your damage powers an additional damage proc similar to the Interface slot.

This type of grind and tediousness is just not fun. 6 hours 14 trials.. 9 Lambdas...5 BAF...not one even REMOTELY successful and in 6 hours.. 21 threads........................................... ......
They'll be trivialized before you know it, believe me. Think back to when the ITF first came out and people were raging over how HARDDDDDD it was. Now it can get speedrun in under half an hour.

P.S. Can I have your stuff if you do quit?

Unfortunately, the planned "City Vault" feature (which would have done what you describe) was scrapped by the devs as too resource-intensive. However, the playerbase has stepped up and created its own character tracker in the form of City Info Tracker. The only catch is that in order to track your characters you need to be running Titan Sentinel while you play. Once you get it all set up though, it's a handy way to keep track of stuff on your characters, from XP levels, to influence/infamy totals, and soon even what salvage your characters have stored (I'm looking forward to this feature, personally).

If you're an obnoxious braggart, I guess. I'm not a show-off person, myself, but that still wouldn't stop me from inviting a non-IO'd character.
  15. Presumably for the 4 Incarnate slots and the Trials, probably also the turnstile system. Why would they need an NDA for costume pieces or power proliferation/customization?

It's a good thing I was being totally serious, I would hate to have you think I'm insane for no actual reason.

I mean, I have seen Master Runs where the leader says "we need x and y in order to start", but x and y are usually a powerset or even just an archetype, not like "we need a Trick Arrow/Archery Defender softcapped to all 3 positions or S/L/N/E or we can't start".

I have never seen someone rejected for a TF/SF because they don't have sets. I'm convinced this is a myth propagated by people who don't understand how to use sets.
  18. Look, it's not that this isn't a great service, it is. But I keep getting matched with Rikti Monkeys. Now, if Rikti Monkeys do it for you, then fine, whatever floats your boat. I don't judge. But it's just not my thing, okay? Seriously considering deleting my account because of this.

Really... quaking in terror at *caltrops?* walk over them and freaking follow me, don't make me stand around for several minutes trying to make small talk and pretending to admire the bizzarre paintings on the wall while waiting for the damn things to despawn.
I don't know about your experiences but every time I encounter a Decoy Phantasm it keeps attacking me until it desummons, which it should do because like you said it's a decoy -- a distraction from the task at hand. If anything, the decoy SHOULD prevent you from rescuing any hostages. As far as its summoner being gone, there's nothing that establishes the summoner as maintaining the decoy's presence.

I'm not arguing against caltrops, they're annoying but I'd rather see the decoy stay than the caltrops go.
  23. Okay, so what do you suggest to alter them?
  24. Server rollbacks aren't unheard of, if the Brute is brand-new I could see it disappearing due to such a rollback. But if it is brand-new, there's no reason you can't recreate them.

I would recommending sending a petition. I dunno about restoring characters but if "Mark" can tell a GM exactly what he lost (or exact-ish) they can probably restore it.
  25. The wiki shows two screenshots of a Cabal minion, and they do look slightly different.
