I've only got Piston Boots on one alt and I've never noticed any kind of effect, coloured or otherwise. Then again, the alt in question is /Dark Armour so it's unlikely I've been able to see it anyway.

I'll have to have a look later and check it out.

I tried an experimental Fear heavy build on my Kat/DA but it sucked End like a Hoover.

So for me it's just the one character, my Stone/SS Tanker who uses Provoke as a back up when in Granite for extended periods of time. I've considered further use of the pool but not bothered so far.

As I have about 24 active characters, that's a fairly lousy percentage.

Having become quite disillusioned with the MA myself, I rolled up a new MA/Regen Scrapper on Union tonight and kicked him off in Galaxy because I've never started from there. Now he's level 6, I'm off to The Hollows (no temp travel for me mister!) followed by Faultline, Striga, Croatoa and then who knows where...! And so far, I'm loving it.

If you see The Antarean, give him a nudge.

Maybe we need to set up a channel for this kind of thing. Call it 'Canon Only' or something better.

It's a nice idea conceptually especially as the temporary Halloween costumes showed that the game can just reference a different character model.

I guess the biggest complaint about it might be the one you hear about Kheldians which is that you never get to see the great costume you spent so much time preparing.

I'd love to know the answer to this too. I'm not someone who massively IOs out all of my toons, but I like to close holes where I see them such as overcoming the run debuff on my Stone Tanker.

On my SS/Fire Brute, even with Fire Shield and Tough, I'm still only just over 50% resist to Smash/Lethal. I'd love to be able to get an extra few percent on that if I could but its something that the inventions system just doesn't seem to be geared for. Sure I could go for +Def but it doesn't fit with the concept of the character.

Maybe, if we're lucky, this is something that the rumoured 'global slots' might be able to cover in the future.

The very first toon I rolled up here is a Kat/DA. Even after four years, he's still sitting at level 39. I just can't summon the enthusiasm to play him when I have other, far more interesting toons to play. The endurance is definitely an issue though.

Yes but as stated, it doesn't display correctly. No-one uses it in game correctly when using the $name tag plus it doesn't display on the character selection screen, the team window or even when viewed through my second account. It's the inconsistency that bugs me.

I thoroughly support this suggestion. I'm tired of having to wait till level 15 to get the name to display correctly above me but all in game references to my characters always drop the 'The'. A shame.

It's certainly possible to build a Blaster for Defence but I'm not a numbers guy. My Sonic/En uses three 6-slotted Thunderstrikes, 1 Positron's Blast and IIRC, I've got Mako's Bite in her melee attacks and Scirroco's Dervish in the nuke.

With CJ running as well I seem to recall seeing numbers like 20-25% to ranged defence but I'll have to check that when I get home. It sounds slightly too good to be true. Certainly as a Blaster, playing at range most of the time, ranged defence is a good thing to build for.

Yes I saw them the other day. Problem is I know next to nothing about them and haven't bothered to do any research since I found them. Otherwise I may use them in an arc when I can think of a good reason.

I guess it depends on what the Carbon Law applies to. If he is who we all suspect he is, who's to say he's even human?

Third Degree Byrne - SS/Fire Brute - So corny it just had to be used.

The Atavist - Mind/Ice Dominator - Atavism is one of my favourite words. This one gets the most 'huh?' comments from people.

Revenant Star - Warshade - If there's a naming convention, I like to play ball. I like the way this trips off of the tongue and hints at redemption.

The Dolmen - Earth/Storm Controller - I still can't believe this one wasn't taken. Not named after the band by the way, good as they are.

Dryadora - Plant/Empathy Controller - Sounds pretty, means 'the gift of trees'. Almost managed to persuade my other half into giving it as middle name to our daughter.

Thorndolly - Spines/Regen Scrapper - No idea where it comes from, but with her small scale and torn clothes, the character does look like a little disheveled ragdoll.

QFT. I look forward to more interaction with our American cousins. As a long time reader of their boards, I know there's some intelligent, thoughtful and funny people over there and it's going to be great to chat with them at last.

I've played briefly on the American servers and I found the people there no worse that the average PuG over here. A server list merge would be a good thing eventually but I'm in no rush for it.

There's few things as joyous as the birth of a new baby and I know exactly what you mean about being up to your ears in love. Enjoy every moment, take lots of photographs and revel in the fun of a newborn.

I think that perhaps we've become used to them being every 6 months which may give the impression that we're due another one soon. I agree with Shadowe though, with everything that's coming our way soon (presuming it's not too far away) there wouldn't appear to be a need for one.

I'd be happy to be proved wrong though.
