    Costume Codes

Hmmm, not seeing any on eBay and as it is, I'm not sure they'd work on an EU account more's the pity. Hey ho. Maybe I'll just have to roll a Kelly Uqua equivalent until then.

This would be awesome. As I think the Rikti hold the key to defeating the Coming Storm, I don't think the Devs are quite done with our extra-dimensional friends just yet...

    Costume Codes

Given that I would do pretty much ANYTHING to get hold of those Rikti codes (short of, you know, a flight of £650 over to NYC etc), I fully support this suggestion.

I don't care how tough the trial is, if it gets me a code so I can play as a Rikti, I would do it.

Even another underpants dance if I had to.

Wow, colour makes it even better.

As for a Wonder Woman equivalent... hmmm... Miss Liberty is a good bet but the most often featured woman on CoX merchandising tends to be Sister Psyche. But then she's less Wonder Woman and more Jean Grey IMHO.

And I must do more drawing myself, as you say, practice makes perfect.

Yes, yes, YES! I knew I'd forgotten something! This would be awesome!

    Yes to high collar trenchcoats.

And as for full length robes, I would settle for more designs for the trenchcoat tail piece, textured to fit existing tops and enabled to use separately, similar to how the fur from the mystic robe is now available separately.

Welcome aboard! Add another talented artist to the CoX fanbase for me to be jealous of.

And as for hero or villain, do both, get the best of both worlds. Whatever you do, enjoy.
  7. Hi, thanks for this topic.

An idea I had a while ago was to tie some of the costume pieces to defeat badges, keeping in with some of the weapon unlocks. I know this might not be a hugely popular idea but might act as a challenge as, with a few exceptions, most defeat badges are not unreasonale in their demands.

    Personally, I'd like to see:

    Hellion symbol
    Vahzilok aprons and bone hats
    Primal Earth Clockwork parts
    Council uniforms
    Troll faces
    Freakshow parts
Lost skin texture & TV heads

I'm sure I'll think of more later...
  8. That was a fun evening. Again, much thanks to Bunny for organising it and to the SG owners and members for hosting such a fun occasion.

  10. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks his appearance needs work. When I first saw it, I thought I was looking at a player created character, not a Dev created one.

It's not far off hitting the Random button on the costume creator IMHO.

Unfortunately, that kind of speak is all we get these days. Gone are the days of fun interaction with our community staff I feel.

Goodbye BaBs, you did some cracking work while you were here and made a lot of people laugh with your offbeat humour. Good luck to the guys who'll be trying to fill your shoes, it won't be an easy task.

I reckon the Coming Storm is a multi dimensional threat, much bigger than Cole and his robot army. And only the power of Incarnates will be able to stop it, hence their introduction at this point.
  13. Hell's bells, I completely forgot to mention that.

Yes, a major thank you to NCSoft for footing the bill so the players didn't have to spend a dime on the place (aside from coke and Pringles). That really was an unexpected treat!
  14. Fair point. Who knows what Rommy's been drinking while we've all been in Praetoria?

As for the Rikti, I think they know what the Coming Storm is because they've fought them before.
  15. Last I looked, I don't think Romulus is an Incarnate. He's just been filled full of Purple Nictus Love (tm).

As for the Coming Storm... I think we should ask the Rikti.
  16. I smell the work of middle management myself. Some person brought in to shake things up and the first thing they do is change the one things that worked really well: the community. The nuking of the Hero/Villain Culture forums was unneccesary and reeked of desperation and now the silencing of the OCR team all just suggest a manager desperate to make their mark in the company. I know, I've met enough of them.

The chances are, there is little they can say or do compared to how things used to be despite everything they wish they could do. But this is a tangible change that some veterans have picked up on. And it's not a change for the better.

Teaming with the community is all very nice but when we've got a 'serious' concern, who do we address it to? Or will we just be met with a wall of silence? The EU community is one sub section of these forums where there's been significant concerns for quite a while and nothing substantially said to allay those concerns. In trying to get these concerns to a representative, we were told to use the forums for feedback as they are the 'official' route for such things. Since then, nothing.

So you see, it's not about needing cuddle bunny hugs every five minutes, it's about knowing that our feedback and our concerns are being listened to. And given that we barely even see an acknowledgement of issues when they are raised, it's no wonder that some folks are getting concerned.
  17. I don't think it's the Coming Storm. I suspect that it's more to do with Incarnates given that there are two in that picture (if speculation about Hami having become one is true).
  18. Phew, this thread got a bit political fast... Anyway, IMHO, humanity is best accepting its place in nature and working with it than trying to rule it. By trying to do the latter, Hamidon falls into the villain category.

My Druid toon actually spent some time as a part of the DE but these days he's in tune with the real nature of the planet, not Hami's.

Man, I wouldn't mind devouring a Devouring Earth pizza.

Devourminos. The box with the tentacles.
Funny, I'm actually in a plot doing something like that right now. Of course, the customers don't know that they're going to turn into DE creatures after eating enough of it but hey... I am a villain after all.

Still, I'm not completely convinced that Hamidon is the villain he's portrayed to be in Praetoria. This is Cole's version of 'the truth' we're dealing with here. Do we even know if the Praetorian DE are the same as the ones on Primal Earth? From the description of Hamidon's fight with Cole, I think not. It appears there were tentacles involved.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out later that the release of the Will of the Earth virus was an accident or that Hamidon was set up in some way. Something about him being the 'Big Bad' almost overshadows Cole and makes him look like more of a hero to the people. I smell political jiggery pokery here.

I didn't get that out of it at all. Maybe I was too busy looking at all the greenery and wild animals and thinking how beautiful it looked to notice the voiceover.

As an ardent greenie I kinda like the Hamidon's ideals but appointing himself as arbiter of how the world should look is just a step too far.
  20. No matter how much you throw at Blazing Bolt, it will always act like a snipe and really slow down your attack chain.

As for Fire Breath, I don't know if you realise but it is mostly all Damage over Time. The initial hit is not that strong but if you watch, you'll see big ticks of damage fly off of your foes. If you're doing like I do and following it up with Fire Ball, it can easily get lost in all the pretty orange numbers.

The best use of it is on a team with a Controller or a good Tank to get mobs herded together. Then with one application of Fire Breath, Rain of Fire and Fire Ball, the mobs is pretty much toast.

    I am back...

    I remember your honourable self.

Welcome back and enjoy catching up. A lot's happened.
  22. After 50 levels and gods know how many hours of playing my Sonic Blaster, I still can't see what people are complaining about. Maybe I'm just lucky but the sound fx are appropriate to the set and have never bothered me one bit.
  23. I have a dedicated AE character who never steps outside other than for trading and levelling. Unfortunately, level 50 looks like being a long way off due to the hefty xp penalties applied to some missions, regardless of how good they are.
  24. Ah, that seems to make sense. Thank you.
  25. Six posts saying that DB is better on Scrappers than on Brutes. Would anyone be kind enough to tell me why?

I have a DB/Elec Scrapper and Brute at low levels and only one is going to get levelled so I'm curious to know what 'more effective' means. So far, I'm finding the Brute more fun as DB's quick attacks seem to build Fury really fast. But then, I am a bit of a slave to Fury anyway.

Any insights into why it's simply 'better' on Scrappers? What makes it less good for Brutes?

    Thanks.
