    Rikti Beam Rifle

I've yet to get the Watchman Accolade for my Beam/Rad Corruptor but I'll admit, I'll be disappointed if Beam Rifle misses out on that unlock.

Given that she runs around in the Rikti Costume Code, the corresponding gun would just be ace. If it hasn't already been coded... please?

    Thank you.

--then why is he called Doctor Who?
He's not. He's only called the Doctor.
So why is the show called Doctor Who?

    and

So he has this living ship that can travel through space and time--
Oh! That's good! Let's see some design sketches.
*holds up a picture of the TARDIS*
    ...what's that?
The Doctor's ship, called the TARDIS.
But it's a box. Where are the engines? Lasers? Those sorts of things?
It doesn't have that. The Doctor doesn't--
--so what does he do in it if he doesn't fly around in space battles?
He travels through space and time.
Hmph. Well, how big is it? Don't some villains on Star Trek fly around in cubes?
It's about the size of a police call box.
    A what?
*explains, and points to the words on the TARDIS*
    Uh-huh.

And if you stop and listen, you can almost hear the internet screaming at the thought of Bay-formed Daleks.
    I laughed.

And this sums up neatly why I hope this never, ever comes to pass. Either leave it in the hands of the current team or not at all.
  3. Personally, I'll be going Elec. TW/DA will just eat your endurance for breakfast.

I'm glad that this is a question being asked because I honestly do not feel like much of a VIP these days. I could go into a long list of things that I have disliked since Freedom launched but apparently, that's 'entitlement' according to some posters. On the whole, Freedom has been positive but as a tier 9 veteran, there is little I would lose from dropping to Premium. Access to the dire Incarnate system (although I am hoping the revamped DA will fix some of the issues I have with it, despite it still being stupidly complicated) and the Tier 9 armour (which, being pre-tinted, I have little interest in) is all I think.

What bothers me most is how VIPs are treated exactly the same as other players when it comes to purchases. I have no problem with buying costume packs and powersets but there seems little benefit to being a VIP when doing so. As much as I despise the proposed Super Packs, the idea was announced with no concessions for VIPs. Surely as a VIP, I shouldn't be forced to gamble like the rest of the playerbase to get these exclusive items? Although I welcome the proposed changes, this was a place crying out for VIPs to get better treatment.

The same goes for Titan Weapons. This set is going out with a tiny amout of options so that you can charge us more for further options. Instead, how about VIPs get all the skins thrown in for free, just because we're VIPs?

It's this kind of thing that's frustrating to me. There are not enough places where it seems that being a VIP carries any perks. Sure, we get a whole server to ourselves and if you're lower down the reward tree, it's more apparent and I won't deny, £5 worth of points is nice every month. But there needs to be more places where being a VIP has apparent and obvious rewards. If you're looking to convert more Free and Premium players to VIP accounts, those rewards need to be more obvious and ongoing.

For each new marketing initiative you guys come up with, consider how VIPs could be treated differently. You've already got our money, stop trying to squeeze more out of us by treating us the same as everyone else.

    Have a great holiday season.

I can recommend that thread. Since the Atlas Park revamp, I've come to use it a lot more often. I think a couple are broken but I can't recall which ones. They're all fun and none are of the dire standard of Dumbshot's arc.

But I will agree with the OP. The old arcs were a bit naff but they treated you as a real hero from the word go (as does, admittedly Habashy's). Dumbshot's may have been intended as an extended tutorial but the manner in which your character is treated makes you look like an idiot. The villainside one is just as bad.

I also don't get why all the contacts were moved from Galaxy, retained their contact rings and yet do nothing. I think only Azuria takes part in later missions.

This is the one thing I really hope the new Dark Astoria has less of. They're so overused now it's silly. I can handle them when they make sense to the mission but they really are so tiresome. Captain Ambush needs to tone this down a lot, ambushes are not a 'Go Faster' button.
  8. Does this mean NCSoft can sue them for a change?
  9. You can have my name in gold but do we still get to keep our forum titles? I lost my unique title when the EU and NA forums merged but some people have worked hard to gain those titles and it would be a shame to see them replaced with a generic 'VIP'.

I certainly don't feel like a VIP these days so I'd rather remain as a Legend thanks.

That way, OOC chat channels remain OOC.
This is how we often run Militia nights when we have two teams going. As long as you sort out an IC reason for how they keep in touch (in our case, portable communication devices), it can really help to keep the chatter and interaction going between both teams even though you're on separate missions.
  11. Sorry to see you go TBA. Although I never got much of a chance to RP with you, your opinion was always one I respected and looked forward to reading be it on roleplay or the wider CoX universe.

Safe journey and best wishes for the future.

Don't get me wrong, I love the art of CoH. But there's a pretty big flaw in the process, especially if you open a feedback thread regarding art assets in testing (in addition to a bug report thread) with little to no intention of actually using any gathered feedback. Feedback threads are customarily created to immediately address concerns the playerbase may have with items, not as a "circular file" for players to send feedback into a vortex.

I think that's the big problem a lot of players see with this issue. You've basically admitted that, even if there were issues with pieces, such as the pre-tinting or lack of options, nothing could have been done before the set was launched. If that was truly the case, there was little to no need for a feedback thread at all. It's like trying to give feedback on a ship that's already careening down the slipway ("Oh wait, there's a hole in the bow? Oh well..."). It makes a feedback thread an empty, futile gesture at best.
I think this is the thing that I find most depressing. That they ask for feedback but it doesn't seem to change a thing. It makes a beta test for art assets a pointless exercise, nothing more than an opportunity for VIPs to test out the new pack but not to change it.
  13. Dark Miasma. So much control. So much debuffing. At high levels, I can ruin both entire spawns and AVs. Brings so much to a team and rocks solo.

Sonic Attack. Great on all ATs and has so much capability.

Kinetics. Makes a team amazing. I love pushing a good team to superhuman levels of damage, speed and recovery.
  14. Ah, the old 'going forward' line. I heard that a lot at my job. It was management speak for brushing old issues under the carpet and hoping that no-one would notice.

So does this mean that all new costume sets that are being worked on at this moment will benefit from this change of stance? Or can we expect two to three more sets packed with pretinted sexism?
  15. *Must not go squishy over babies.... must not post pictures of daughter...*
  16. I think you've proven the point very well TBA. This is a trend that we keep seeing and it's a) disappointing to see such gender difference and b) extremely disappointing that all the feedback given on these packs has been ignored.

I will admit to buying most of the packs, including the Steampunk, Magic and Barbarian guilty parties here but I barely use them on female alts. However, I will be keeping my points from now on and considering carefully each new pack that comes out. If enough players feel the same about the pre-tinting and gender difference, they'll know about it soon enough.

COH:Freedom - The Cash Grab has put a higher emphasis on RL money than ever before. Not buying it is about the only feedback listened to these days.

Probably because most of the feeback in that thread can be summed up as 'PLEASE DON'T!'

    Which I completely agree with.

Going to leave it there, but....flawed logic is flawed...
And yet the sexism in the Cowboy and Strumpet set that's just gone live is forgivable. Yep, logic has no place here...

  20. Only just seen this thread. It is a real bug, not a feature and a fix is coming.

    It's been confirmed here: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...=278807&page=4

    *punches the air with joy*

Thank you very much. Apologies for missing the acknowledgements.

Very pleased that it's going to be fixed. I was worried it was going to be turned into a feature.
  22. Totally agreed.

I've bought the last few costume packs (the guilty parties mentioned in this thread) and I've found that I barely use them because I can't get them to blend with other pieces.

I was excited to gain access to the Celestial packs recently then growled in frustration when I found that again, they've been pre-tinted. Please, customisation is one of the biggest selling points of this game. Pre-tinting pieces so that they don't blend in with anything else is like shooting yourself in the foot.

For what it's worth, I'm now guarding my points carefully and I won't be buying any new ones if they appear to have yet more pre-tinting on them.

And yet I'm not sure if I've actually seen it acknowledged as a bug yet. Or if a fix is on the way.

Credit to the programmers, they managed to address most of the bugs from 21.5 swiftly but this is one that is really annoying and making some of my characters unplayable. I'm sure others are loving it though.

Just some confirmation that a fix is being worked on would be a big comfort.

Seconding this. For what reason is it ok to offer NA subscribers a 12 month subscription plan (+2) and yet deny it to EU players?

Discrimination? Bad exchange rate? Or perhaps an archaic hangover from when NCSoft EU were pulling the strings? Time for a change. Time for EU players to have access to the same deals. This has been asked many times and yet all we've ever had is stony silence.

    Please.
