So, is the KB Bug still in effect?

I feel like it is. It seem my PB still doesn't knock things all over the place like she used to, but there still is KB, so I'm not really sure. See, I've gotten so used to how it is now that I've (purposefully?) forgotten how it used to be.

It appears so. If a mob is mid-animation and is "rooted" KB doesn't always function properly. They move a fraction of the distance they should, land on their feet, complete any animation they are in the middle of and then continue with their next attack.

This is especially annoying if it is an AoE and you "notify" the spawn by missing one of them. Some of them will start animations before the KB hits. This seriously curtails the mitigation that KB is supposed to provide.

Well I've built my PB to not need the 'mitigation' provided by KB. Truthfully I never liked it, though I know others do. Personally, I'm hoping this 'bug' becomes a permanent feature. It's been live quite a while for a bug that caused such a radical difference - and it would be a downer to remove it completely, especially now that we KB-haters have gotten used it

I still feel the best thing is to allow some sort of choice between the two.

A choice to reduce KB would be great, I've long advocated a -KB IO. That way you're making a sacrifice to alter the functionality of a power as it was intended.

Under no circumstances should they leave the bug as is. It's depressing to land Crushing Uppercut and have the target's feet barely leave the ground.

Slot it for KB?

There was an update to the physics engine that inadvertently gimped KB. Unfortunately, there's no ETA for a fix yet, but it's a Known Issue and will probably be higher on the fix list than other bugs.

You'd think that changing the gravitational constant of the universe would be something that would require a design review at least.

And I'm pretty sure that wasn't just a joke either, since I've known for a while the bug had to be in the physics engine and it explains how knockup has subtly altered as well (as if everything was noticably "heavier.")

Wouldn't that be considered working as intended? After all, things usually get heavier when knocked up.

I know someone that has a simple fix for this bug.

Yeah for a long time, my gales seem to randomly just not have any oomph, hurling enemies all of 5 or 6 feet. I couldn't put a finger on when, because my dates with storm summoning, until recently, have been torrid and brief, and infrequent, but some time between my Storm/Energy defender and my Illusion/Storm controller, something happened.

I ... think?

Issues like this are why I've always put myself on the "Doesn't like Ragdolling on living targets" list, though I've no issues with it for corpses. It's a hotbed for difficult to quantify problems, and inability to quantify often means complaints fall on deaf ears or are handwaved.

I still yearn for the pre-ragdoll days, when knocks could be chained, knockback was unsupressed, and trolls didn't hide inside walls. ; _ ;
