I feel like I just speed drank a slurpy... brain MUST die NOW!

Every time I would delve into a new powerset... bad build city.
Just for chucks and wiggles, let me tell you about my fixation with my Mids Notebook.
I have a notebook. It's filled with information on IO sets and hand written builds. Why?
I refused to use Mids. That was cheating. -
Had that happen to me on STF. The leader had the temp power and quit. Disconnects are one thing. Quitting with the temp power is another.
-
Fire/Fire/Fire... hands down. But, you'd be joining a large swath of fire/fire/fire blasters with a 7 year jump on you. You'd be like the little brother that never quite made daddy proud.
I'd say Ice/Energy, but I'd be lying. Just to prove a point. -
One time I read this whole series of Marvel Comics called Secret Wars... yeah. That was awesome.
-
Scrapper. I'm not giving any reasons. Anything I say will be anti-stalker. Nothing personal. Just don't like that AT in teams.
Again, I'd never refuse one, but forced to choose? Scrapper. -
Quote:Levels everything. Is up every spawn.I find it unlikely that AIM BU NUKE (yes, even RoA mini-nuke) levels everything and is ready for the next spawn, unless for some reason that spawn is more than 200 yards away. Leveling spawns implies that you're moving to the next spawn in the next 5-10 seconds, it's why two (or more) elec/shield scrappers leapfrog spawns (or just go seperate directions).
Also, BU SC LR arguably hits spawns just as fast as AIM BU NUKE. (and recharges faster than the long recharge nukes. Since it recharges equal to buildup and aim, the AIM BU miniNuke has no advantage over the BU SC LR combo too.) -
I love Task Forces. It's my favorite type of Group Content. Anything that drums up interest in Task Forces across all levels and zones is a good thing in my opinion. Heck, anyone remember doing these when there was no real reward? I used to do them for badges and souveniers. Then people got bored and I couldn't get a group for them anymore.

Rogue Isles = Evil
Paragon Cit = Good
Praetoria = Gray Area
You want to always choose good? Run blue missions.
Always Evil? redside
Want to pick and choose? grey side then float back and forth.
Morality is not consistent across cultures in the real world. Morality isn't cut and dry in the real world.
I find both groups in Praetoria to have good and evil parts to them. And some of the choices leave a lot to be desired if you want to choose a good versus evil path... but those are the choices.
You can't choose which choices to choose. You choose the choices you think fit how your character would react. -
I'm that blaster, lurking in the back, watching everyone run in, pop their specials to do something soo cool, and then...
AIM BU NUKE.
I do it on purpose.
I build for recharge to do it every spawn.
Your tricks are great, but my trick is leveling everything before anyone can do tricks. Just relax and watch your rewards window. You do have a rewards window set up, don't you? WHY NOT?
You could always play "Inspiration Tetris" while I do the heavy lifting. -
STF. Ahhh, so, we get all set up. Leader is friendly and helpful, we are cooking right through it. I'm impressed. What a great pickup group. True professionals. Even those with little experience are keeping up. Leader is very happy. Say's we're awesome.
We get to Dr. Aeon. Leader quits. Leader had the temp power. No goodbyes. No reasoning. Not a disconnect. Then, one team members says he was warned that said leader is horrible and he should never have joined.
It irks me. We were doing so well. Why? Why did he do that? At first, I figured hey it must have been a huge crisis. I've had that happen before where I had to log without warning.
But this was a quit, then log. Plus, a few people said it was typical of this leader.
I still can't figure why, if we're rolling and going to finish way ahead of schedule and get shiny rewards, would he just drop close to the end (or there abouts). No wipes, no runs no errors. -
I haven't decided. I like the idea of 4 Rares to swap in and out first, then maybe pick one very rare to work on, but I might skip it.

Quote:That's how I build too, mate. Defense, yeah I get it, but not everyone plays their blaster the safe way. I live on the edge. Death = nothing to a level 50. Defense is over rated.Ah, thanks for all the replies. I took that rule to mean five of the same sets (like 5 Obliterations) instead of five set bonuses. Now I've read it thoroughly, so I'll respec and extract two of the sets right away.
And thanks also for the advice on splitting them. That will be useful.
Incidentally, this character is all damage and a fast recharging self-rez, so defense (and death) is not a concern... -
Quote:Ah, got ya. Didn't realize the Apoc was different. So ,yeah, split that and pick up the sixth for damage.Okay, looking these up:
Ragnarok - +Recovery, +Fire/Cold Res, +Accuracy, +Recharge, +Psi Def
Hecatomb - +Recovery, +Fire/Cold Res, +Accuracy, +Recharge, +Toxic Res
Apocalypse - +Regeneration, +Health, +Damage, +Recharge, +Psi Def
Armageddon - +Recovery, +Fire/Cold Res, +Accuracy, +Recharge, +Toxic Res
Fortunata Hypnosis - +Recovery, +Fire/Cold Res, +Accuracy, +Recharge, +Toxic Res
Unbreakable Constraint - +Recovery, +Fire/Cold Res, +Accuracy, +Recharge, +Toxic Res
Gravitational Anchor - +Recovery, +Fire/Cold Res, +Accuracy, +Recharge, +Toxic Res
Absolute Amazement - +Recovery, +Fire/Cold Res, +Accuracy, +Recharge, +Toxic Res
In that case, he could split Apocalypse into a set of 2 (2x +Regeneration) and a set of 4 (1x +Health) in different powers. These wouldn't overlap with any other bonuses. It would also be possible to pick up the 6th piece of Apocalypse to either get the +Damage, or another +Health boost.
At that point, two of the other sets would still be going to waste. -
-
Ouch! Three sets above the 5 limit??? Well, at least you can sell them all after 2 respecs and buy whatever the heck you want forever, including more respecs....
-
Anger duly noted. We'll all try harder next time. Sorry. Wait... what's this perp mad about again?
-
I didn't read the guide. I make it a point to never read any information about games I play. Information is for suckers.
-
I've read a couple of comic books.
I think the Incarnate system is kinda in line with what I read in those comic books.
I feel better. -
Okay, so with stamina at level two, the summary is...
1. Make Brute
2. Point Brute in any direction. Attack.
3. Fury
4. Slot Stamina and end reductions
Noice. -
Somewhere, every second of every day, a Game Developer is crying due to lack of appreciation.

Quote:You can always run at 50, get all your Alpha components, make your enhancements, and be ready when the bug is fixed. That's better than NOT being able to get the components at all.See, that's the nice thing about actually *testing* stuff before pushing it live. You actually get to find out about potential game crashing bugs that render content unplayable *before* they become a problem. No crystal ball required!
And lets all bear in mind Avatea's suggested work-around: Don't slot Rare Incarnate abilities. So we have a bugged publish that, according to the patch notes, serves no purpose other than unlocking the second two tiers of the Alpha slot, and the suggestion for dealing with it is don't use any enhancements from the second two tiers of the alpha slot?
I reiterate my position that these problems all could have been avoided if this publish had been adequately tested and that whomever is responsible for pushing it live dropped the ball big time.
"We're sorry. The Well of Furies is unavailable at this time..."

Now, with the T3 and T4 Alphas out, methinks a rehash if this entire discussion might be necessary. Very necessary. 45% damage above ED cap? Uhhhhh.... hard to pass up if I can get the perma hasten without the alpha...
Might keep recharge slotted until I can achieve that and immediately switch. Just a thought. -
I played one a while back, but ditched him due to concerns over bad build, bad knowledge, serious Blaster addiction (which I'm recovering from). I have a level 50 DM/Regen scrapper and loved him.
So I made a shiny level 1 DM/Will brute. I've read the guides etc, but looking for some forewarning an my sets, my life cycle, and my playstyle. Anyone wanna give me the downlow in ADD fashion?
