  1. ...the NCSoft employees already do the judging, because the players don't actually do anything other than say "Hey, this probably should be looked at".
  2. You assign the mission an enemy faction, and when the mission is spawned, it will populate the mission with that faction.
  3. Catch up on the backlog. I still have to finish Red Faction: Guerilla, play Odin Sphere and Rogue Galaxy, dabble with Evil Genius and other stuff...
  4. However, the flag can and does unflag itself, and CS can't help you if it does..
  5. Some powersets are better against some critters than others. Really, you've been here for years, you should know this. (I probably should have said "unintentional optimization" for more accuracy, though.)
  6. [ QUOTE ]

The L1 character was a Blaster. He was caught out in the open, and used tactics like getting under cover and spreading the foes out, keeping out of melee range and such.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And we, the tag team of 10 defender and 10 blaster, could not outdamage their output before reinforcements beamed in that would eventually cause, for lack of a better way of putting it, an overwhelming horde because we simply couldn't keep up with the reinforcements. And yes, we used similar tactics.

Even in larger engagements, a full team of low-level characters is going to be a drop in the bucket, getting lucky to actually tag the critters for enough for badge credit.

Just because your blaster may have been optimized for Rikti fighting and obviously got multiple lucky breaks during the fight, etc etc..

Every character I've ever created can handle the raids as they are now, and that's even at L1-5 (though some find it easier than others).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Do it solo, then get back to me, please.

As it stands, a solo/duo level 1-20, from personal experience, is going to get stepped on by the raids, because they just can't do enough damage to get rid of the hostiles they have before more teleport in.
  8. And do blues get to go to CAD and blow up that AE building? ;p
  9. Everquest had a Guide system as well, that they wound up disbanding due to liability concerns, I think it was.
  10. It probably was. I believe that "generic police radio noise" the drones use is a public domain stock sound effect.
  11. -rech, defense debuff, lack of self-healing, anything at range, and anything with +acc.

The defense on Shields isn't perfect, and so, once penetrated, tends to have easier cascade failure. Critters at range don't get the -dam, and tend to hit you harder through your very moderate resistances.
  12. Vanguard are pretty lethal, yeah.
  13. Actually, I think it was more "so the average player knows how good they are so that possibly there might be some butts in the seats".
  14. It's not a bug, it's an acceptable consequence of a hostile effect interrupting things. When you're in the jail, you cannot use any ability that can be interrupted.

Walking through the door is the actual bug that probably should be addressed. and if you can't kill it with just your regular attacks instead of your snipe, then you should seriously look at your slotting and powers, because you may have too much emphasis on the snipe.

also, a 5% chance for you to have a bad shot that deflects off something is acceptable, from where I'm sitting. It's not evading. Your attack was just ineffective.
  15. The difference is that we don't have to grind through six thousand other huge powerful bosses to have a fair shot at our huge powerful bosses.
  16. Level 6, either 90 days or one year (I think), and I think they tend to run it without telling us.
  17. What he said.

Some attacks also wind up applying counterintuitive attack typing (Gravity Well is Negative Energy/AoE), for example.
  18. You have to build charges for the temp power before it's usable, by logging out at one of the places where you got the accolade.

And then, like in Arcanum, technology is actually actively strong against magic because it dulls its effects, and an electrically-charged armour was all but complete protection against magic.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    That worked both ways, actually.

Tech malfunctioned around magic. Magic malfunctioned around tech.
  20. Merits are the only things that allow direct selection of recipe.

Ticket rolls do not allow any selection of recipe besides rarity.
  21. Which one? To my knowledge (again, I admit it's mostly limited, I didn't play it for more than a couple of months outside of beta), the major combat changes got reverted.
  22. [ QUOTE ]

But Sony did also completely botch Matrix Online, as was pointed out too. It's a game I was going to buy and play religiously - until CoH came out on time and Mx didn't.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Misblamed, there. Keep in mind that WB sold it to Sony months after release...
  23. There's a lot of misinformation about SWG being slung around in this thread.

SWG never surpassed EQ, for one. It never had near a million. Last I knew, it settled at (these days, I believe) around or slightly more than Cities.

I'm hazy on the precise cause and effect of the NGE, but it was either Lucasarts pressuring Sony to make it more actiony, or Sony making an attempt (and, despite all the bad press you hear about it, succeeding, mind you) at keeping the license by staunching losses.
