AE - How do I place NPCs?
You assign the mission an enemy faction, and when the mission is spawned, it will populate the mission with that faction.

Too many blasted alts to list, but all on Virtue.
Thanks. Is there also a way to access non-enemy NPCs, like people running in terror?

Nope, sadly there isn't.
You probably will want to check out the full tutorials in the game. That and I think there are a few down in the section for MA stuff.

Panicking civilians are locked into certain maps. You can have them, you just have to pick a map that happens to have them.
Also, there are certain NPC "packs" that you have to unlock (along with costume part packs for the custom critter creator and map packs) through the Ticket Vendor up on the top floor. A full list of unlockables can be found here.
"You don't lose levels. You don't have equipment to wear out, repair, or lose, or that anyone can steal from you. About the only thing lighter than debt they could do is have an NPC walk by, point and laugh before you can go to the hospital or base." -Memphis_Bill
We will honor the past, and fight to the last, it will be a good way to die...
There will probably be more options to do things like that in the future, but for now we're kind of limited on NPC placement.
You CAN, however, set roughly where in the mission you want named bosses or custom bosses to appear. With the Front, Middle, and Back options you can set approximately where they will be.
Maybe we'll get more control of spawn points in the future, but I'm not going to say we are for sure because no one but the devs knows for sure, and they're not saying much about it at the moment.

Hi, guys. I'm trying to put together my first AE missions, and, for the life of me, I can't figure out how to place NPCs in the editor. Do you have to unlock them through playing missions or something?
And advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
