Day Job Accolade powers are used... how?
If you have charges for a click or toggle power, the power will show up in the powers menu under Temp powers (but, I think, above Inherent. If not, below inherent powers but above pool powers)
Auto powers are, well, auto.
Ticket benefits are usually used by selecting the "Use discount coupon" option on the screen where you spend money.

Negaduck: I see you found the crumb. I knew you'd never notice the huge flag.
You have to build charges for the temp power before it's usable, by logging out at one of the places where you got the accolade.

This. You need to drag Day Job click powers to your hotbar manually.
One annoying thing I discovered is that if you, for example, need only two hours more to get a Day Job badge which will ALSO earn you the accolade badge... and you don't log on for like 20 days... then when you DO log on, it'll give you the Day Job badge and Accolade Badge ---- but no temp power charges. Until you log off, now that you [u]have[u] the accolade badge.
It makes SENSE to do it that way, I suppose. Just disappointing to get the Accolade badge, find out (from its description) about this cool temp power and realize that ~now~ you have to go offline to let the charges build up so you can actually use it.

Most likely, from a coding standpoint, the day job code only looks at your character at log-in, calculates time from last log-out and applies it to the powers related to the day job location you are logging in at. It wouldn't detect you have earned the accolade badge (and flag the temp power that goes with it) until after you log-in.

Hah. Well I guess it is about time to come up with a new avatar. Current one, I recall, was posted as a response to a thread that has long since been purged anyway...

Just an aside to bring this back on topic and add something useful:
I use this bind to easily lock and unlock the powers in the tray without having to go into the options:
/bind SUBTRACT optiontoggle disabledrag
I assume this has been asked many times before, but I gave up searching for the answer. How the heck do you get/use powers gained from day job accolades? I supposedly have a frag grenade somewhere on my person, but I'll be damned if I can find it.
