  1. Did something change?, seems to me I remember her 1st mission being a 10 Rikti hunt, I just got it on my lvl35 Def and it's a 50 Rikti hunt! Is it bugged or did the Devs up the kill count?
  2. Travel Suppresion... HATE it.

    Lack of player impact to in-game world. After all these years nothing ever changes. Every year should have had a theme that culminated in a MAJOR event that altered the in-game world.

    Lack of "threat", I'd to see the occasional skyscraper sized baddies tearing thru the city ripping it apart... and leave it damaged for a couple of days. As a non-combat diversion you could use your powers to help clean up and rebuild, plenty of history in comic book lore for that.

    Game needs a dynamic map creator. It's time for underwater and space zones Devs. Oh and no more Banks/office buildings in caves...

  4. I know the Devs are currently busy as hell with Rogue, but maybe they have a few minutes to peruse the Forums now and then. I don’t know if these ideas have been suggested before, I’ll assume some of them have. So with that in mind, here are a few thoughts, observations and suggestions from a veteran of almost 5 years. In completely random order:

    1.) Fly is too slow, it should be at least as fast as Super Jump or Super Speed, please.

    2.) Jacobs Ladder animation is too slow.

    3.) Crey Pistol accolade power is pathetic, either increase it’s availability or give it some power or better yet… both.

    4.) Mission Transporter power could have it’s recharge cut in half, a 2hr recharge is just ridiculous, better yet make it 30mins.

    5.) Do away with Falling damage, I didn’t realize how much more powerful my characters felt until I dropped 300’ down over the edge in the ski zone to a mission door and took no damage.

    6.) After level 15 you should only receive DO’s and after level 25 only SO’s as Enh drops.

    7.) Do away with Trains as a means of inter-zone transportation, in a superhero game this is just … well I can’t even begin to say. Train stations could be converted to Tele-portal stations, like a scaled down mini version of Portal Corp only no clicking on it, pick a portal by the sign over the portal off you go, you’d just walk into it. If you have a mission selected in your Nav, any portal would automatically take you to that mission’s zone.

    8.) Independence Port needs to be zoned better in mission descriptions, divide the zone into Indy North, Indy Terra Volta and Indy South. The whole zone is just shy of 3 miles long, presumably if your contact knows where the mission is they should be able to tell you what section of the zone as well.

    9.) Contact cell phones need to be issued after the first mission, almost every contact you have is a referral or has already asked to work with you, why on earth would they not trust you enough to give you their number up front, isn’t time supposed to be of the essence ?

    10.) There needs to be a Badge for taking out Snipers.

    11.) There needs to be a Badge for rescuing people on the street, either that or tie these rescues into character reputation somehow.

    12.) Winter Event Present Inspiration rewards, I wouldn’t mind having fewer drop but actually have them do something special, like Cap an ability for 20-30mins, maybe you can only have 2 things capped at any given time. Maybe a temporary power like SS, SJ or TP Friend or even a Temp Store where you can trade in so many presents for a Temp Power your char would normally not be able to have. It’s only a few weeks a year, lighten up.

    13.) Archery Set, animations are too slow, range at 80’ is ridiculous, speed up the animations, increase the range to 100’ and give the snipe some damage, it’s remarkably weak compared to other snipes.

    14.) Why do none of the Ranged Damage IO sets have any Range in them?

    15.) The Devs need to monitor the Market better, there are whole segments of the market that have ZERO product available. When this happens for an extended period the game should automatically dump some product into the market, or better yet the game should increase the drop rates on the recipes that have depleted themselves. What good is an Invention system that offers nothing to invent?

    16.) The Archery set desperately needs a bow based melee attack, and I don’t mean a pansy Stun, I mean a swing-your-your-bow-like-a-staff-whack-attack that does decent damage maybe even some knockdown or knock back. ( if you’ve seen the movie Avatar, you know what I mean).

    17.) Dump Base rent, it’s dumb.

    18.) How about a Dark Astoria Task Force that culminates in the fog being temporarily lifted from the whole zone for the members of the TF only for say, 12hrs?, along with a reobtainable (like Shivans) To Hit or Perception bonus. It’s a beautiful zone, and I bet most players have NEVER seen it.

    19.) Increase the size of Giant Monsters to GIANT size. I want to see these menaces from half a zone away!, and give ‘em some crazy knock back that sends you flying a couple of blocks away when they whack ya. I’m talking about the scale of the giant mech-man in the Hess Task Force. It shouldn’t be “Where is AV So-N-So?”, it should be “Holy *&%^#$ !! This is gonna be amazing!”

    20.) Now this one might be controversial but, character’s power should scale with age, I know it kinda does, but what I mean is, a level 50 scrapper that’s got 4 years of crime fighting under his belt should be more powerful that a relative nOOb who’s only been a Hero of the City for 1 year. I don’t know numbers, but say a 1 or 2% increase per month after the 1st year of becoming level 50 would be the best “Veteran Power” benefit I can think of, these percentages could go into a bank that you redistribute to specific attributes of YOUR choosing, ie: Hit Points, Defense, Resist, Mez Protection, To Hit, Recharge, Endurance, you get the idea.

  5. I'd be curious to see just how dismal the numbers for AE usage are now, probably comparable to the ghost-town that PvP has become I would guess.

    Just my unscientific observation, but this game seems to be more and more about penalties and limitations, and even though we were promised that in time ED would all make sence, I don't find Inventions to have been such a great boon to the game. It's definitly something else to do, but it's no more than a distraction as is AE now.

    It must really be discouraging to put SO much time and effort into creating and then loudly touting portions of the game that can be, and are, ignored by so many.

    I remember when I first started playing, I was in The Hollows trying not to get killed, when I saw this high level hero casually Super Jumping by me heading for the Atlas Gate. A few minutes later hundreds of baddies appeared like a giant swarm of locusts pouring by in pursuit, flowing over buildings, cars and fences like tsunami chasing after the other hero. It was one of those Holy Shite! moments we don't get to have in this game anymore. And I for one miss it. The pre-ED Heroes of this game could have demolished the Rikti Mothership and rebuilt the city with the scrap metal on their way to breakfast...

    But that IS stupid... there is ALOT of indefensible stupid in this game. So, you CAN attack if standing still or running, but walking neutralizes you powers... fascinating.

    Flash in this universe would be just another idiot panicky civilian walking around flailing his hands in the air, because everytime he tried to activate his power he'd be reduced to a crawl... although he would still have the power to push meta humans around like dust-bunnies, as they wait for public transportation to a contact who doesn't trust them enough yet to have given them his cell phone number, even though they were refered by a trusted source or even better still, requested by that specific contact to come work for them.
  7. @OP, No your NOT alone, more non-"lethal" options would be fun. More weapon skins/options would nice too. When they released Dual Blades I said to myself, "This would be a blast with frying pans". Although I'd settle for the big plumbers wrenches they have in Mace, but I like the staff idea as well.

    New skins I'd like to see for handheld weapons:
    Frying Pans (oh yeah!)
    Leg Bones
    Tire wrench
    2x4s
    car axle

    New power?:
    Beast Controller
    Summons insects, birds, cats, dogs etc..., as it's lvl32 permanent pet power you get lion, tiger, bear or some such sized animal that you could also ride
  8. I have to agree with the article's premise, CoX does need a re-vamp throughout. The whole world feels static, how about some weather?

    The signature Heroes and Villians spend far to much time doing nothing, when they should be out and about. We SHOULD be running into them on the street and in missions, they should not be stuck in one location rain or shine like bad mimes at a street faire. Be even better if they we're occasionally controlled by someone and not just scripted NPCs. How cool would it be if you got a random invite from Sister Psyche to a team to go take out a Rickti Base or some such?!

    For example: Let's say you wanted to run a Positron TF, first, you'd have to find him to talk to, which would mean talking to one of the other Signature Heroes and that would lead you and your team to a mission where you'd assist him in taking a out a troublesome character, only then would he grant you the respect to carry out the TF. Once you've completed his TF you would get an occasional call from him to go "handle" a special problem that would reward you with rare loot-temp.powers-XP-credits... whatever, then that Positron's Ally Badge would REALLY mean something.

    It would also be nice if they got a costume make-over they've been wearing the same tired outfits for years.
  9. I had worked for a few years in the printing trade and knew I wanted a single word name, but my 1st choice "Magenta" was already taken. I tried my favorite color Cyan... also taken, so I took the short-cut of adding a letter and Cyyan was born. She's my Main and my Badge-babe.

    Now 54 months and 17 - 50s on 3 servers later I'm glad things worked out the way they did... although if anyone from Protector would like to give up the name "Magenta" I'd LOVE to hear from ya!

    Oh and while we're at it... making a whole ISSUE out of finally allowing us to customize our power FX colors... lame as well, should have had that 5 years ago.

    Weak ideas like this will not save this game from the mass exodus about to take place to a game that "gets it", and by "it" I mean REAL character customization and a true feeling of SUPERPOWER.
  14. I'm not a PvP person but I like alot of the PvP recipe buffs. I was curious where they drop from? Say... lvl50 Gladiator's Javelin, can you get it running missions in Bloody Bay (mission end drops at your level)? or are they only from PvP battles in RV? Thanks,

  17. I have 2 lvl50 villians on Protector, and a few lvl50 heroes as well. But it seems that while I can build Kelds on all servers, I can't build any NEW Arachnos Epics on any server... is this a new bug I'm unaware of? Thanks.

    AE Teleporter?

    An AE Teleporter is probably the only option here. Which would be a nice step in the right direction. Always thought it was foolish for MetaHumans to be taking the Disney Monorail.


    I think the game sees the AE mission stream the same way it sees an instance door, which is why you can't enter from anywhere. I know the Mission TP'er works on AE missions if your out of zone.

  22. Well, this Boss actually came running around 2 corners to ambush us, so there was no line of sight, he just knew we were there, we thought it was great. Just wondering how to do it.
  23. We had JUST entered a mission the other day and I said to my buddy " I wonder what the Boss looks like?", no sooner had I finished saying it then he came running around the corner and beat the snot outta us, was pretty funny actually.

    Anyone know how to do that?, have an ambush or a Boss attack the door when you first enter?

    I was thinking maybe placing a destructable there but there's no way to actually place it at the door. Is there another way?

    It's always bothered me, but when I saw it in the Going Rogue trailer if really frosted my cupcake.

    All the Signature Heroes in this game need a serious makeover... what do ya say Devs? Shine 'em up a little will ya?
