I was just trying to be helpful, this is how I was told it worked. Obviously I was misled but for all i knew it could have been right. I didn't cause any damage by trying to answer the question because I knew if I was wrong someone would catch it and correct me, I was at least responsible enough to say "I'm not 100% on this" instead of stating it as fact un-like other people on these forums. Nothing wrong with trying to be helpful, but i guess next time I'll just keep my mouth shut =\
  2. In my experience /Regen outperforms all other sets when SOs are the only thing available, but when IOs are brought into the equation /Regen tends to fall off the top because Set Bonuses are more helpful to sets like /WP than /Regen.

Regen has to be my favorite set for one reason, it doesn't matter what damage type your enemy does. With Healing as your mitigation you essentially have resistance to all types of damage.

As the others have said /WP is the set and forget, go smash secondary while /Regen is the watch your health, click quickly set. It's different for everyone as to which set they are "good" at because the playstyles for both are total opposites

I believe it works like this if you are attacked by a power that is melee/lethal the enemies chance to hit rolls twice. Once for the Melee, and once for the lethal damage, so if either one of those misses all the damage is negated. But I'm not 100% positive on that
  4. Elec/Regen, it is a surprisingly powerful combination and you can slot the placate proc in your attacks!
  5. I like the idea, but to many people would complain and bring up the Have/Have Nots argument for the people that aren't or can't fork up the $10 dollars for the pack.
  6. I don't recall them saying you would get a badge for being subscribed for the specified period. Just that you would get to participate in the GR Closed Beta after the 5 year Vets.
  7. I want some kind of tentacles for the Mutant pack =D
  8. Make a D3 Defender, very strong and full of control. And when you feel like flexing your muscles if you take Dark Embrace and your other shields you can easily tank for the team if need be.

My guess would be that his original 50 is on another server. Or he possibly deleted it.
  10. You'll be hard pressed to find a pvp WS build. It's just not a good archetype for pvp. Granted a good pvper will be able to do at least 1/2 decent on it but they wont be raining hell over everyone in the zone.

My suggestion is to lvl up a new character. Try a Scrapper or Brute. They do well for beginners and don't have as much of a learning curve.

Sorry, i haven't had a chance to come back & look at this for a while.
i notice alot of ppl arent really big fans of Numina's. Is that mostly because of the high price? i was also under the impression that over slotting for regen wasn't bad, since that's what the pwer set's based around & there isn't too much damage resistance to speak of. Though i think i might have it almost soft capped anyway & some damage resistance wouldn't hurt... Back to the demon farm...

    Thanks guys
    D
It's not neccesarily that numina's are more expensive but that the setbonses in DW's are more attractive for slotting into heal powers, prolly best if you have to slot it to put it in Integration or a passive +regen

I'm on a mac so no mids, but looking at my toon..

    He's got:
    3.91 end/sec with 116 endurance
    47.5% rech without hasten
    BU->Parry->HS->Parry->Disembowel->Parry->hack rinse and repeat
He usually goes mostly untouched when fighting melee toons.
Attack chain is different when fighting ranged
Defense is good but DR hits it so hard that IMO its hardly worth slotting for unless your already using a defensive armor set. Anyone who is smart enough to slot with accuracy will most likely hardly miss you unless you are stacking some to hit debuffs to go with it. Its even more unnecessary since if you slot parry with defense 3 stacks will have you at softcap in pvp zones wich is easily attainable if you have enough recharge. My attack chain is BU -> HS -> Parry -> Disembowel -> Parry -> HS (BU ends just in time to fit two Head Splitters in) -> Parry -> Rinse and Repeat. Hack is only thrown in if hasten is down.
  13. Here is a build I use as my main pvp character and I find it to be very effective its Built for Regen, Recharge, Recovery, and Max HP. Basically anything to get the Regen as high as it will go.

Edit: Don't ask why some of the numbers came in black; srry if they are hard to see

Not to be nitpicky but this is totally false. My /Regen scrap has IH six slotted with doctored wounds and it only brings my regen to 1800% the hard cap at lvl 1 is 2200% and 3000% at lvl 20+

  16. I have a PB at 50 and a WS at 35. I love my PB, its one of my favorite characters, but I like many other people find them to be unable to take a hit outside of dwarf. Human form is my favorite form and IS is just the coolest lookin attack ever, but i can survive longer in Dwarf with less resistance than i can in human form with Light Form, and this is baffeling to me. In Dwarf i can usually tank as well as the stone or invuln tank but when i get bored of spamming antagonize and the same 3 attacks and i want to play in Human? I'll pop Light Form and its Epic Phail Faceplant with capped resistance.

This has been my experience time and time again and it makes it very frustrating to play my PB anymore and he is just pretty much been shelved since they fixed the Merit Count for the Nictus Insurrection Arc.
  17. Mainly its Slow, endurance heavy, and Slow! It hits hard no doubt, but like the above poster said other sets can do the same damage with quicker and sometimes less endurance heavy attacks

That's what I like about the set as well. I don't think Regen will ever be able to be ported to Tankers and this and WP are as close as it gets.

    D4 tankfender?

Ok i added the data chunk as i wasnt aware the data link wasnt working srry bout that.

Anyways thnx everyone for the replies I've got the character in the high 20s and didnt want to commit to this type of build if it wasn't going to work.

    Again Thanks,

    D4 tankfender?

Hey everyone! I have been wanting to make a D4 defender forever and i got to wondering. With all the to hit debuffs, with a little bit of resistance, could a D4 defender serve as a temporary tanker for a team or TF?

I have experience with a /Dark MM and a /Dark corruptor so i'm familiar with both sets just not together in the same build. So I made a build for my TankFender, and I want you to tell me if you think its even reasonable that this defender could tank, and if so look here at my build and tell me of anything you see wrong where improvements could be made. Thanks in advance! If you'll notice I even grabbed to taunt powers, try not to lol too hard

While this is true *Now* it was not true before the pvp changes. Back then a considerable portion of the community was active in pvp and pvp events.

When you make such a subjective post at least tag "YMMV" at the end of it. This is meant to be a guide and you don't want to be handing biased information to new comers.

You may find that based on your experience but off my experience my melee characters struggle far less than my ranged chars to survive in zone. Anything outside of a duel, I find that ranged chars are at a serious disadvantage as they are bait for any stalker or any scrapper who decides to suprise them and AS/Crit them with such a small amount of Hit Points.

    And of course YMMV
  25. Just some suggestions:

Regen is a very good PvP set there is no doubt about this, but it also has a downside - When it comes to just standard SO slotting regen far surpasses all other sets and is superior, but I should let you know how Regen doesnt have as much of an improvement from IOs as other sets. When IOs are brought into the equation sets like WP can exceed the power of Regen by increasing things like defense and more resistance. In other words Regens can be one of the strongest builds for PvP just keep in mind that IOs may seem as if they arent improving your build as much as they may for a WP or FA. Don't get me wrong - Regen is a fovorite of mine and my best pvp character is a regen, but I thought should let you know that the benefits of IOs on /Regen may not be as noticeable or as strong.

As far as your MA/Regen Build goes, I've never played with MA so I will comment on the /Regen only, everything looks well slotted, but slotting MoG for end mod might not be a bad idea as it can be a lifesaver when dueling Thermals.
