well, we are already in a level pact. That and my girlfriend would always get mad when i played. I have 5 active toons also.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sounds like you need a new girlfriend...

Game trumps relationship? I don't think so.

I am one of the lucky who have a partner who plays, she doesn't play as much as me, but while im playing shes usually blogging or ranting on newsboards, so thats ok.
And boy can she rant -
Roll a second toon that you can solo with.
That will help -

I only do this to get initial seed capital, about a 100k or so. Then it's simply faster and more profitable to flip salvage. I usually have well over 30 or 40M by level 20.
[/ QUOTE ]
I get that seed capital by selling my 2 big inspirations from the tutorial.
Is remarkable how much of a boost those get you at the start -

Because a large part of the function of Ouroboros is to go back and do stuff you missed, like badge missions and such, and there isn't much to miss before level 25.

My bets on this one, makes a bunch of sense
Would be nice to be able to sue the o-portal for travel then, but 25 isn't too high -

Alpha mitigation =\= Tanking

But it's still a handy skill to have in your toolbox when you dont have a meatshield around. -
As a note, you can also unlock these in mission architect , upload your toon as a custom critter and have a look how your characters would appear with them.
Not that i have done that....... -
I drink to the death of Petless pistol masterminds.......
I know people wanted to play concept, and thats cool, but they did suck -
I have seen good things from Sonic/Rad , very good things.

Understandable, it never made any sense whatsoever.

I thought it was in place as a resource management tool, so that WW and the BM didn't get overly clogged with stuff?
Im glad it's gone to -

My immediate concern has nothing to do with mixing AT's. A fair amount of recent content has involved co-op, and it hasn't lessened the roles of AT's. Honestly, at level 50, a full team of most any combinations can accomplish most anything in the game.
My issue is that switching sides does absolutely nothing to fix the glaring disparities in the sides of the game. When CoV was released many* blue side players were unwilling to make a permanent switch from the toons/groups they had cultivated over the first 2 years of the game. CoV is also a far inferior game in terms of content and space. There simply isn't that much to do other than level. Sure, you could take your tanker over to redside if you wish there was a worse market, fewer people (already) to team with, and less to do.
Previously in order for the long time hero players to access the AT's in CoV they had to play redside. As the game gets older and more balanced even that is less enticing. When CoV released most of the AT's were direct ports from the boards.
Anybody remember when blasters wanted to be deleted because their secondary sets were so horrible? They wanted buffs ala defenders? Enter the corrupter! Nowadays though, blasters aren't that terrible, and they've certainly got a place in high damage groups.
Remember when pets got the nerf? Controllers wanted to be proper pet classes? There's your MM >shrug< in the meantime trollers have quietly become overly awesome.
They seem to be dismantling the desire to play redside at all. I certainly can't see an exodus from CoH over to CoV. I can, however, see many CoV toons making the switch over to CoH. Blue side is simply a better developed and obviously more complete game, hence the disparity in population. I understand the lack of CoV specific development and still disagree with it.
[/ QUOTE ]
So, you're suggesting this will cause some sort of mass exodus from CoV as everyone rolls ATs just to play the ATs (not to actually play a bad guy or good guy) and having a better market and more zones would draw them all over to blueside?
I have to admit that is a grim prospect for the redside of the game, but I doubt it is as likely to happen as you think.
[/ QUOTE ]
I may be odd here, but I find the COV missions/zones/content to be a lot more engaging, varied and entertaining than 90% of the blue side content.
The arcs are tighter, a lot less fed ex and hunt missions and you dont have to go to a different zone for every mission.
Just my 2 cents -
Just a quick question
But have brutes or defenders been excluded from ITFs or Rikti raids?
You know, people have been able to team up before -
None approved but I use
- Vidiot Maps (Puts badge locations etc on map)
- herostats (tracks powers and xp per min)
- Glycerine (Tracks badges on city inof tracker)
- Mids hero planner (character design tool) -
Heh, I love the prisoner Trip_hazzard
That show is a complete mind *&^% -

I love dual builds, especially on certain toons.
My AR/Cold Corrupter for example has almost completely different power choices for solo and team play. Dropping those shields and taking less AOE's allows me to include the snipe, acrobatics and a few other bits and pieces.
I love dual builds. -
This is why I have the strictest membership requirements for my SG.
1.) Must know person IRL
2.) Must like person IRL
3.) Must get acknowledgment from person that it is my base and don't mess with it (I don't require my friends to play in sg mode if they don't want to)
4.) None of them get promoted above rank 1, they have full access to storage bins, but I lock 1 or 2 personal ones these days
I am the Dictator of my little world, but as the base started as a personal one for my toons that's fine. My friends just like the fact we have a full teleporter room and a couple of bins lying around. -

Please read some guides and posts in this forum. The market is seriously the friendliest thing to the casual player the game has ever seen.
And if you're actually out beating stuff up, higher prices mean you sell things for more.
The market is not a store. It works fantastically if you don't try to use it like one.

Just a note on Fire Armour
[/ QUOTE ]
Fire Armour is every bit as good as Fire Armor; it just herds on the left side of the hallway.

Yep, I'm from New Zealand, we still speak English here -
Just a note on Fire Armour
It might be way down the list in order of survivability but that doesn't make it a bad set. In smaller teams (say up to 5) I would take a fire tank over a stone tank any day.
A fire tank will probably be doing three times as much damage as a granite tank and therefore contributing more.
Its horse for courses. Running a super hard TF and need someone to tank multiple AV's? Take the granite. Running a speed team where the objective is to get through ASAP against regular spawns, take the fire tank.
My 2 cents.
Edit "Oh sorry, is this "political"? -
"Where am I?"
"In the Village."
"What do you want?"
"Moderation."
"Whose side are you on?"
"That would be tellingÂ…. We want Moderation. Moderation! MODERATION!"
"You won't get it."
"By hook or by crook, we will."
"Who are you?"
"The new Number Two."
"Who is Number One?"
"You are Number Eight."
"I am not a number — I am a free man!" -

Accelerate Metabolism is a must if you go rad. You'll want it 6 slotted. You may not be able to, but it's worth trying for. 3 recharge and 3 end Mod. Recharge first. With Hasten you can have AM up most of the time time once you get Single Origins. I've got one defender and one controller with AM and both have hasten. I don't normally take hasten.
Irradiate isn't a nuke. It's X Ray Beam as a PBAoE. Damage isn't really any better than a first tier blast from other sets, it's just that it hits everything around you. Another issue with it is the damage is done in ticks over time. Instead of 40 damage, it does 5 then 5 then 5 then 5 and so on. That's time for most mobs to get off at least one shot at you, and because of the debuff, there is a lot of hate coming your way. I'd seriously put it off until you get N Blast. The Def debuff in Irradiate will basically add 1 SO Acc to the attack. Irradiate also takes a lot of end, and with the toggles running, you're looking at a very low recovery rate to start with. Basically, until you get a good followup for it, irradiate is a lot like shooting a beehive with a rubber band. It won't do much besides bring you pain.
O2 boost is of limited use on for a soloist. By limited, I mean none. On a team it's a different story as explained above.
[/ QUOTE ]
2 points!
1. 6 slotting AM is a waste of slots when you can slot end/recharges later on.
2. Irradiate is fantastic, while the ticking damage seems like an issue its actually an advantage on occasion. Several enemy powers can be interrupted by it. As for the "draws too much agg thing", thats only an issue if a) your in a team, and b.) the teams aggro magnet is rubbish. I've never had irradiate strip aggro of anyone.
