So I like to tank on corrs.

I have an ice/kin and a fire/storm already. I set them both up to maximize mitigation as much as possible while slotting lots of recovery on the stormy and recharge on the /kin. I like how each tanks spawns. Now I'm looking for a new tanking corr build.

I can't decide between /Pain, /Traps and /Sonic. /Rad looks tempting for mitigation and damage, but outside of the offensive toggles, it fails at defenses.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. I'm open to any primary with them as I haven't decided which primaries would be best to maximize the effectiveness of the secondaries for my needs.

Of all the Corruptors I have made the one that stands out as being strong from the start was my Ice/Dark

At 50 you have access to:
A huge Aoe heal
3 Single Target Holds(+1 if in patron)
AoE slow/-resist
Cone Fear(causes no damage for return fire)
Toggle -damage/-tohit
Pet with AoEheal/hold/cone immobilize/tohit toggle and aura

Grab a defensive shield from your patron and it gets even better

Dark sonic can give you some great resistances/status protection, can heal and has good control aoe damage.

But it's still a handy skill to have in your toolbox when you dont have a meatshield around.

/traps with scorp shield and other defense powers. Right now I'm at 45% S/L 38% E and about 25% or so to everything else. Get a KB IO. You got mezz protection, lots of defense, soft capped to the most common type of damage in the game. You're as close to a tank and you're gonna get. Take provoke haha.

I would suggest /Trap and go with lots of sets and even Tough/Weave if you really want to be "tough".

/Trap has useful mez protection that /dark and /rad don't have. Take Aid Self while at it!

I don't like /rad as being "tough" because if you can't pull with anchors or if the anchor runs away, you are pretty doomed.

/dark is good.

/sonic and /pain are good choice too.

What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
