Just some examples of what I've done with the Wedding Pack.

Princess Die won me a CC. :-)
  2. I assume everyone has by now read this?

Couple things I remember off the top of my head:

    - besides the two TFs and extra alignment missions, there's a new hero and a new villain story arc in I19. The hero one has to do with investigating the medical transporters and why they aren't handed out to civilians, and the villain one has to do with finding out what exactly the Leviathan is and what its power source is. They didn't reveal the level range on those.

    - plus plus, there are new 20-29 arcs for Praetorians to do in Paragon/Rogue Isles that continue the story of what they're doing there.

    - all new NPC groups' costumes will be given to us in each issue - they showed a screenshot of a new group in I19 that looked pretty awesome, and we'll be getting that set.

    - we'll be able to log out to character list in I19

    - the rewards for the new zone events will scale according to your participation, and there will be actual good rewards for participating rather than just badges.

I'll remember more as I'm reviewing the video, probably.
  3. Yes, a Halloween themed booster would be quite appreciated, but we haven't heard anything supporting the notion and after the Mutant Booster and the Party Pack I'm not about to get my hopes up again. Still, the Event draws near, there is at least some new content, and all the folks who joined the game AFTER last Halloween will finally get to see what is supposed to happen when the Supernatural banners spawn, so I'm a happy camper!
  4. On my Illusion controller, I set up macros to locally say the names of my phantom army, spectral terror, and phantasm while launching the appropriate power.
  5. The first 10+1 gets you the new alignment, plus some reward merits and the countdown power. The SECOND 10+1, confirming your new alignment, only gets you reward merits. The THIRD run of 10+1 starts the Hero Merit drops, which then continue for every following 10+1 till you change alignment again.

Sucks, I know, but there it is.
  6. I know it ain't so, but that image of the Ouroborous being attacked by ginormous tentacles makes me think of Yog-Sothoth, the Outer God who embodies all space and time. Who better to threaten beings from various times and dimensions?
  7. We already have Dark Watcher, Maelstrom, and several Arachnos and longbow agents running around Praetoria in secret. I suspect that, rather than access the normal Ouro list of flashbacks to gain entry to goldside missions, Dark Watcher, Montague Castanella, or a mender would set up the primal toon with access to infiltrate the Powers Division, complete with temporal scaling to avoid detection. Then you could earn the tutorial badge, and all the other content "as if you were a Praetorian".

The process might allow for single story arc flashbacks, or it might strand you in Praetoria until someone has a chance to retrieve you, forcing you to play the 20 levels before returning and rechoosing a Primal Earth alignment.

Just my musings on how it might work, of course; I have no inside info on the matter.
  8. Looks good, now I have another reason to look forward to I19!
  9. I would love to fight the Coralax on their home turf, or take on any number of comic-book inspired versions of Atlantis / Mu / Y'ha-nthlei / etc. I also agree that genuine underwater action would require recreation of every power, movement, and special effect in the game, so I will pass on supporting such a move i favor of a lunar / outer space zone, a Dinosaur jungle zone, or other exotic regions we have yet to see. But really? I'd prefer more zones added to Praetoria, with content for L1s-50s.
  10. I'd rather have a full four weeks myself, provided there's some new material / twist to the event this year. If it's exactly the same as last year's event, three weeks is plenty.

    Halloween 2010?

I'm guessing with the lack of magic in Praetoria that there won't be any Trick-or-treating there. But that Halloween Zone in Pocket D idea sounds good to me! What I'd REALLY like is maybe some in-game means of getting costume code powers, like as accolades for certain event badges, or maybe you turn in 50 halloween temp costumes for one, or something similar.

    Contact speech.

It would be nice to still be a part of the story when someone else is leading.

    Halloween 2010?

Has there been any buzz about this year's Halloween event? I'm expecting a return to Trick-or-treating, Banner Raids, and Zombie Attacks, but since we get banners and zombies all year long, this hardly seems like an 'event'. Somebody please tell me there's more to it this year!
  14. Personally, I have used many of the wedding pack costume pieces, esp. the wedding tux. My leprechaun, Uncle Sam, Bride of Frankenstein, Jack Skellington, and quite a few other toons use pieces from this pack. I have never felt disappointed with its potential.

On the other hand, I see no reason to ever pay for a handful of emotes, though I may have done so anyway if the price was negligible. Eight bucks is not negligible in my budget.

THIS is something I would pay $8 USD for! With Batman and Spider-Man both known for swinging from building to building, it seems a valid mainstay travel mode for a superhero game. Not sure the iceman bridge would be practical, as it would be dependant on a trail left behind it which interferes with other toons and can be interfered with, but a variation on superspeed called superslide would be great, with customizable effects ranging from ice to skateboard to...

Ah, who am I kidding? They won't even give me a guitar customization for Battle Axe, much less power pool customs. At this point I see this Party Pack as an example of a premium that players do NOT have to buy to remain competitive, which was a complaint many had about the Martial Arts booster. Thankfully they DIDN'T throw in some important item we couldn't live without, forcing us to buy what is otherwise a lacklustre purchase to many.
  16. Dat dere's one sharp lookin' costume, you betcha!

What I wouldn't pay for a Costume Pack containing some or all of the con codes! Now THAT would be a party!
  17. I'm an RPer , and I really wanted to want this pack. New emotes always interest me, but at $1 per emote, and with many of these moves being recycles of material already in the game in one form or another, I just do not see any way to justify it. And I'm one of those losers that buys costumes codes on eBay!
  18. Just bought it myself. Good stuff, quite moody. I'll run this music while playing Maria jenkin's arc and pretend I'm in the beta test.

    I'd love some backpacks!
  20. Heck, there could be an arc that requires the heroes to prevent a corrupt Crey-sponsored puppet from becoming the new mayor, though it starts with the charismatic figure giving the heroes worthy-ish assignments himself (busting up some rival villain groups, maybe even a 'charity event' to defend from attackers to give the public the impression that the heroes endorse the candidate.
  21. I wouldn't think a power with a random self buff would be a wise choice; even if it only works some of the time it sounds like too much of an advantage, something the Haves vs Have-Nots crowd would complain about.

My thought was for the Mutant Booster to have a low-power fear aura, since the big difference between mutants and everyone else in comicbook land is that people fear mutants. It wouldn't affect combat much, mostly it would just help add flavor.
  22. It's true. If I want to make a Fortress of Solitude or X-Mansion or Batcave, simply because the 'feel' can't be simulated with what's available.

I'd like to see this happen, but it probably won't unless bases start to play a bigger role in gameplay. When was the last time anyone raided someone else's base? Maybe instead of having costume contests the devs could sponsor some base open house competition, and let people rate other players' HQ?
  23. So instead of discussing the idea, we're discussing what constitutes shooting down the idea?

I like the idea, but as a whole it means that my lvl 10 hero running around looking for Trolls won't get to find them because all the lvl 10's that rolled through yesterday wiped them out. Ultimately the only answer to this would be to make the missions world-dynamic, so that the Hollows missions wouldn't reflect a need to take down trolls until they dynamically increase in numbers again. This seems like a lot of work to do, big picture, and it means missed opportunities for individual toons depending on what day they hit the streets, little picture.

Still, I WOULD like to see it done, but maybe only the high level zones should experience it.

    Moon Hazard Zone

I really doubt this will happen before ROGUE, but I still have hope we'll see it... just maybe not this year.
