Oooh, I'd likely be up for this with my WS. Not sure about midday though I'll have to check.
-
I was saying a few weeks ago that I was intrigued by the idea of a Human-based WS. Partly because you simply don't see them, the answer I got was "where do you get the damage from?".
I think it would be tricky going. -
I tried Time Bomb, respec'd out at the first opportunity. There were several things wrong wiht it (IMO etc). Damage was too poor (this was pre-ED) and by the time you get it there are a fair few mobs that can spot you easily enough without getting that close.
I'd join in suggesting Caltrops myself. People that haven't used it have no idea how useful it can be. In teams I've effectively sealed off escape routes, solo I've stood on them to help fend off melee and I've placed them so that once something big and nasty has triggered my well-placed mines they've been bounced on top of them. stall them on that spot and you've got consistent DoT to add to your other attacks.
Personaly I don't think your builds that bad. Sustained combat is going to empty you of End of course, but almost every AT I play can have that said of it.
As you have haste you could consider losing maybe 1 Recharge for an End Redux. Maybe lose one of the End Redux from the Drone too since it's not a big drain and you could get bigger benefit from moving it elsewhere. Of the top of my head for instance Flamethrower is a High End Cost power and has good reasons for using it often.
I'm going to have to disagree about Beanbag though. It could very easily be a playstyle issue, but I hated it. Didn't rate it. Don't ever suggest to anyone to waste a power choice on it.
I felt even more strongly about Ignite. It sounds great and I really tried to like it but unless it's been changed since I tried it I found it to be utter rubbish. As you can read above other disagree with me but I always felt that it didn't do enough damage, took too much end, too long to animate, too short a duration. -
I said I Shadow cloak. Ah well.
I'm bi-form myself, I'm actually barely ever human. Only to extract and maybe drop the occasional nuke. I have ended up taking Stamina but might well respec out of this. I have run dry a handful of times but it's never really been a
problem.
The only problem I have is that everyone talks about swapping form as if it's oh so easy. I barely ever manage to change form without being stunned/held etc.
Still great fun, would be nice if Dwarf did a little bit more damage though! -
Yeah, I'm prett sure it's not as good as stealth and I believe the text says it won't stack. However, it's good enough for most stuff and when I've been messing about with it there definately seemed to be some stacking with the phasing power.
-
Those lists never include my cobwebed old AR/Devs Release 2.1c, so I doubt their veracity. Doubt them I say!
-
Didn't they also claim changes wouldn't be made just for PvP? Oh, I can't remember and it's such an old argument.
Anyway, I am thinking at the moment that it must be that annoying delay between when a power is considered to have functioned and when the effects are actually presented on the recieving end.
I'll try and test at some point though because it didn't seem likely at the time. -
I don't think it was DoT. At the time I thought that the "Only Affecting Slef" text came up in plenty of time for the power to be properly up and running so I wondered whether the Phase Shift rules were different of maybe the Arachnos weapons were some sort of exception. Barring that I wondered bug, so at some point I'll go see if I can reproduce it and die in the name of science.
Since I thought the power was up in time I discounted the possibility that it was one of those times where something has happened as far as the server is concerned but the client hasn't caught up yet, so maybe the damage was figured to have hit /prior/ to phase coming in but hadn't yet been applied.
As I say i didn't think so at the time. -
I thought not, but now I can't figure out why I died while running nebulous form.
I was in Faultline near the Arachnos flyer that's sat behind the entrance to their dig.
There are no known exceptions? -
Ok so the Kheldian version of Phase Shift. Is that supposed to be complete protection, because that's how it reads and how I thought I remembered it?
-
Those anti-kheldian weapons hurt like heck. I actually started to make a point of tackling any Voidies that I stumbled across with my non-kheldian AT's.
-
Unlike spelling. I'd be suprised if there hadn't been a few before, the advantage of being able to sink a few extra slots into your Dwarf and human forms could be pretty useful.
-
Never had the pleasure of teaming with many Kheldians on my way to 50 but I did bump into one that seemed to spend most of the time "answering the door" or the phone or somesuch.
-
Yeah, pretty Epic. You could chuck a suggestion out for more base Mez resist, or better benefit from controllers in party of course.
I barely got mezzed when there was one controller in group though. -
So I was right about something. Hurrah!
How much more common is energy based damage than Fire/Ice? ANyone got a sensible guess? -
I always assumed that the energy shield at the very best barely protected you from Quantum Array weapons since they are designed specificaly against Kheldians. Anyone know whether this is the case?
-
They basicaly have.
Personaly I never slot travel powers so I'd drop them from flight. Having said that, as pointed out by a previous poster your fourth slot in shields isn't doing you a heck of a load of good so you could also consider removing those. -
The damage boost can be very nice. PB's did seem so much easier to play in teams, simply because they fill in where needed. Not that I didn't enjoy my WS. Teamed with a PB it was a challenge but pretty much always a giggle. That was with a good PB though.
Actually, most memorable was us both volunteering to go toe to toe against Void Seekrs etc. to allow the other to blast them. -
I disagree. I spent a while as Human form and was holding my own in the low levels. As long as you bear in mind that you're not a Scrapper you won't be too disappointed. What you really want in this case though is the right team set up to give you a nice damage boost.
-
Personaly I'd rather have a bind saying "Qauntum spotted" that "<target> spotted". Ideally you should be spottting these things before leaping in but sometimes it just doesn't work that way. When you see that familiar flash of colour, or worse get your legs shot off by a Qauntum Array weapon, do you really want to be cycling your target looking for the threat or do you want to be telling everyone else there's a fox in the hen house?
-
I suppose you could 'fix' the attack chain by taking one of the pool power attacks instead of Nova form. It's just a question of how much pain you're willing to put up with, if it's a concept thing then I'm guessing that you don't care how much. As a Kheldian though the Nova is your first chance to really get some arresting done. Those high damage attacks plus some team multipliers really get the job done.
-
Yeah it could potentially be a strong power to take. After all if you ever decide to PvP and are yourself invis your pets would effectively be giving your position away. As you say in PvE you can move them around easier too. I had Dark secondary and the team stealth was quite nice for the same kinds of reasons. One thing I would wonder though is whether a leadership skill might be a better choice? I was considering taking it but as I say I already had Shadow Fall or whatever it's called.
-
I don't think I've ever encountered this problem in CoX. Don't get me wrong, I've had some player run up and arrest someone for me but, well I just go the other way.
Maybe it's just that I don't even bother commenting on it.
