  1. So you can't just go look at the zone but have to go through all this first?

    Blaa.
  2. Well given the insane amounts of xp required it doesn't really matter much. 100 times would be worth it.
  3. [ QUOTE ]
You get your second bot at 6 and your third at 12.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    We do? I didn't get a third at 12..?
  4. [ QUOTE ]
Charging 600,000 - 7 million to place items we have EARNED the schematics for and EARNED the salvage for and EARNED The room it goes and EARNED the plot upgrade is just not right. A device costs more than the freaking plot!

    [/ QUOTE ]

They are still trying to mask they don't have content. If you want better, try WOW. Of course you can't fly there
  5. [ QUOTE ]

In today's binds, the shift+number keys select your teammates.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Who uses that.

    [ QUOTE ]

The ctrl+number keys makes the main tray hop to the given tray number.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Which I use all the time. Very usefull.

    [ QUOTE ]

Of these two, we think the ctrl+number combination is less used and is less generally useful-- especially if we provide a third tray.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Noooooo! I can't open even more crap on the screen, there isn't any space as it is (and your program is sluggish enough as it is in 800x600 there is no way i could run it higher)

    [ QUOTE ]

So, we are considering a change to the default bindings to use left control for the third tray,

    [/ QUOTE ]

As long as you provide a one click solution to return them to the way they where...

    [ QUOTE ]

Making this change this will remove the tray-switching keystrokes (except for the = and - keys which will still rotate through the trays).

    [/ QUOTE ]
They on the other hand are irrelvant since they are way over on the other side of the keyboard.

    [ QUOTE ]

(Further, to promote use of the teammate keystrokes, we are planning on putting small numbers (like the ones in the tray) next to your teammates' icons in the team window.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

While you remove them again if people use something else? It looks just a weee bit silly to have them on the inspiration slots when the F keys have been reasigned to something else.
  6. [ QUOTE ]
As fabulous as the conning colors are, we know not everyone can distinguish the differences between them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, I can never tell if something is gray or white.

    [ QUOTE ]

The arrows (up or down) are a redundant indicator so colorblind players can quicky tell how hard an enemiy will be.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Of course I have no ide what arrows mean either so...

    Kheldian changes

    [ QUOTE ]

    I don't mind waiting for Issue 4.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Good dog.

    [ QUOTE ]

I'm just curious if the list of proposed changes is still the same?

    [/ QUOTE ]

You should know by now, what ever they do it will be worse. Take the voidhunters who are ridiculously overpowered as it is, they are probably going to double their damage while halving that of the kheldian.
  8. [ QUOTE ]

No matter how you slice it, flying is ultimately safer than super speed, and offer an undeniable vertical advantage over super speed (or in this case, 4 other speed powers). If flyspeed had the same max as runspeed, why would anyone ever take superspeed?

    [/ QUOTE ]

So because you wouldn't, you think nobody else would. I love the illogical short circuit breakdowns you people have.

    Boss Changes

    [ QUOTE ]
Yep – spawns in zones check to see what size a nearby group is. When your team is running through an area, you’re actually creating spawns as you go.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Don't we know it - its one of big reasons to avoid the Rikti crash site - its enough to drive you up the wall, the constant BZZZZZT of Rikti beaming in.

    [ QUOTE ]

As for why we put Bosses in missions at all – in other words, why isn’t everything solo-able – the answer is simple.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Delaying the player as much as possible so you can make more money of them.

    [ QUOTE ]

We want gameplay that encourages the best part of the game: teaming up. Soloing is fine,

    [/ QUOTE ]
But screw the customers who want something else.

    [ QUOTE ]

but a MMP really shines when you meet other people and play alongside them. I’ve made many good virtual friends through other MMP’s that I simply would not have done if I could solo everything all the time.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Good for you. If we want that we'll find a dating page. Other people are an nuisance and usually a hindrance to progress.

    [ QUOTE ]

I admit it: I’m anti-social. It’s hard to get me to group up with strangers. But after I do it, I always wonder “why don’t I do this more often…” I might still be anti-social in “real life”, but in MMP’s I’m a social butterfly (I have no doubt that this will appear in sigs for years to come…)

    [/ QUOTE ]

So because you can't get friends in real life you have to force people to group - interesting design philosophy. If you want to save the world perhaps you should become a politician or join the Red Cross.
    .
  10. [ QUOTE ]

There's devs playing RIGHT NOW, in fact...

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Instead of working, eh?

Anyway, the moral is - if there is something you don't like: [censored] ABOUT on the chats, you never know who might be listening.

    The Kudos Thread

On the login screen there is a field to enter your name and another field to enter your password. use to be you had to click on each to activate them - now you can press tab to move from the one field to the other -thanks for that.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
And where's the logic in making a difficulty slider, then upping the general difficulty? The people who want it harder can turn the mission diff up, the people who don't want it harder don't touch the slider.
    What's wrong with that?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Good question. And one that deserves an answer.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They want to slow down progress as much as possible - remember, the real enemy here is the developers, not the mobs.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
Solo players should always have something to do...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Such as finding a another game - check.

    [ QUOTE ]

If a player sees a boss of his level, he should probably get help...

    [/ QUOTE ]

i.e., go back to street sweeping since the designers can't make proper missions.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
Level 6 Scrapper - get my mission "End Gang War" - timed - in the Hollows. Fine. So I run there only to find its a mile out on the far side of the gulch in the "red" area (where all the 12+ mobs are).

    ummmm.... WISKEY TANGO FOXTROT????

Why does this keep happening? Is the random door code so poorly done that doesn't take the players level into consideration? Why the hell is a door mission from a KR contact in the Hollows anyways???? OH SORRY RUNNING ACROSS ZONE AFTER ZONE AND THEN DIEING AND HAVING TO DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN IS GAMEPLAY WOOOO!!!!

    [/ QUOTE ]
It happens because they want to slow you down. Even at level 49 you get to run from one end to the other.

Just be glad its a time mission, you can just let it time out.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
We will be revamping some of this stuff so crazy sitations like being put in an area that's WAAAAAYYYY too tough doesn't happen.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And if you could place them closer togehter so one doesn't have to spend hours, literally, just going back and forth.
  16. [ QUOTE ]

EXACTLY. Bosses weren't meant to be solo-able UNLESS a particular player used Inspirations & strategy. Hence, the Help text & tutorial indicate that a player "probably" should get other friends to take out a boss.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Except there is no way in hell you can take up an AV on your now. But i suppose that makes sense, when have you ever read about a cartoon hero who beat up anything other than lowlevel bums on the street. Oh wait...
  17. Eagerly awaited by whom i wonder. Must be the german and the french perhaps.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
Sorry to spoil the fun, guys, but that date is certainly not THE day. It all depends upon the bugs we squash and so forth. He asked "When's Issue 3 coming out?" and I said "Heck, a week? It all depends on the bugs." There's no set schedule, though next Tuesday would be nice.

    [/ QUOTE ]

In that case can't you just put it out tomorrow and fix the bugs along the way?

(Its not as if there isn't bugs already
  19. [ QUOTE ][*]No, pistols are not going to be a power pool. "I don't want it to turn into City of Guns."

    [/ QUOTE ]

No fear of that since we can only choose 4 pools.

However we should be able to buy individual powers such as guns. After all if this city is supposed to be in the US - it should be a city of guns.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]

"to play" = "to also play" or "to instead play"? Very important difference...

    [/ QUOTE ]
If we can make it work the way we want to, that will be up to you.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Excellent - lets hope you can make it work the way we want to then
  21. Try to convince them to have one great server pool chooseable from everywhere in the world.

    Rika_ came back to ask:

    [ QUOTE ]
Are you avoiding my question as to why this decision was taken in the first place?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Nope. It's just that, as a few people have pointed out, it's a business decision. While City of Heroes may be played online, the people and companies responsible for running it are based in the real world, and that means that we have to deal with the same restrictions, limitations and practical concerns as any other multinational company.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Except that doesn't sound like much of an explanation but an excuse? After all most europeans would log out around the same time the americans log off (around 18PM EST) - it would seem better to have some machines used 100% of the time than more machines used 50% of the time...

    [ QUOTE ]

No one will be forced to buy the game again. If you are happy playing on the US servers, you are welcome to continue doing so.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ah, but what if you want to play on both?

Remember Everquest - they planned the segregation until the player base rose up in anger -now you can choose either as you want.

    [ QUOTE ]

    [ QUOTE ]
Can we still log in here with suggestions to the developers or do we have to do that before we get locked out?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Likewise, no one with an active subscription to the US version of CoH will be locked out of these boards .

    [/ QUOTE ]

But only if you have a US account - segregation again...
  23. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
Why the need to segregate us? I mean, c'mon, we can get along, right people?

    [/ QUOTE ]
It's not about segregating, it's about community and practical concerns.

    [/ QUOTE ]

One of the concerns is, that its bad enough as it is having to get upper level support (who are just full of "update your drivers" and "defrag your disc") to finally get to someone who can do something - if one has to get through even more departments that's hardly something to look forward to.

We are one planet, we should have one forum (though arguably a faster web server).

Can we still log in here with suggestions to the developers or do we have to do that before we get locked out?

Can North Americanos play on the Euro Servers?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Not with the US version of the game, no. I guess they could import a European copy and sign up for a Euro account if they really want.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You are a aware that a large group of europeans (and other parts of the world) has already bought the game from the website and are currently playing on US servers? They are then unable to play on the european servers as well?

It would seem like extreem greed to force people to buy it again. Especially since the game itself is useless if you don't play it online!
  25. [ QUOTE ]

I was pretty excited when they announced a couple of epic Archetypes for the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I wasn't - have to get to level 50 first? Yeah right.
