It will, it has never fire when exed down. Regardless the io level the level of the power available or the level you are exed to. Even exing from 50 to 49 will stop it from working.
  2. It would be as epic when blaster damage got bugged. Man that was a fun few weeks.

To sum it up for you though.... Devs saw money in making PvP more appealing to PvErs... they looked for and sought ideas to get them (PvErs) involved.... made the mistake of asking too mny Serious PvPers what would work. ignored then and based changes on what would really help... and watched as disgruntled PvPers raged about how the changes didn;t helpthem get better. Close enogh I'm sure.

This is the most wrong thing you have ever posted. Ever. It is scary how little you actually know about what happened and why. And what that the true effects were exactly the opposite of what they wanted. And if you had been in i13 beta you would know a good many of the voices around here now that talk and are listened to and respected were there fighting in vain. If they had actually listened to the list that pvpers poured countless man hours into they would have been better off. Instead they pulled ideas at random given by pvErs and used them.

You can probably search around and still find the defining moment of pvp2.0 were we told very specfically that pvPers were not the 'segement' they were concerned about with the changed.

Edit: oh and how did that work out for them, ignoring the pvpers? we lost pvpers and never really gained new blood. Well played devs, well played.

Also attacking MMs with AS would be meaningless, when a normal attack in hide would be more effective.

Just going to point out that only a small handful of stalkers even use as in this game any more. FCers already do use stalkers. Not going to say scaling as is the way to go though, but it defintely could use a little more bite. I know if they did give it a buff though that the raging amongst bad players would be epic.

I see my gaus fire all the time in rv. If you are exed down that may be your problem.

  8. Storm moved from a top tier set to a middle of the road set. It really needs recharge in hurricane and in the bonuses, and you need to be able to tolerate having to retoggle that. But if you hit someone before they detoggle it can be a pain for them to get it off. It wasn't super fun to play in zones before because all the aggro you could pull, its even less fun now with npcs still being a little better than they should be. Ice control very much has its uses.

Just know going into it you are making a disruption toon and not a killer and you should be fine.

Demons will be decent to good. Thugs is good for a lot of the perks they have like built in leadership and gang war is hot. Pain, traps, therm and dark can all be next to be impossible to kill. On the more offensive side poison is just cruel to fight.

A pb with its aoes and slotted for range would have one of the easier times killing an mm.

there is a ton of bad info in this thread. I don't have the time to do my normal break down. I will hit a few key points real quick.

They did change to much at once.

It was not aimed at beginner pvpers, it was aimed at people who did not pvp at all, which is where the biggest problem comes in.

It was aimed at bringing high end io builds down closer to people who did not spend the time to gear. Sounds nice, but it played out horribly. Now the difference between a top end build and even a mediocre build is insane. You either have the loot or you are toast now.

It was also aimed at making all sets more balanced and viable. Also a huge failure. Some sets were so messed up as to the point of being laughable. I am looking at you ice blast.

These changes were also made so the first time pvper could load into a zone the first time and 'stand a chance'. This has not happened at all. A beginner pvper has almost no chance at knowing what is going on. There is no detailed info any where in game telling you pve and pvp rules are completely different. No mention of dr or heal decay. They should have armed people with better knowledge than dumb the system down.

If anyone feels like it they can post over in the pvp forums and have a convo about any of this feel free. I just figured I would pipe in with some actual real pvp facts and truths.

And I kinda loled @ the if it came from macskull comment. There are plenty of people around who have the time in to comment on any pvp topic that aren't him. Not knocking mac, just saying there are other people out there that people should and can listen to as well.

Currently we spend more time telling others what to do and what powers to take/avoid. It's as if we are handing them a crutch to say "Stick with this and only this... and you will have a chance to be good." I've never been one to assume that a player new to PvP automatically means that that player is a retard. Ignorance is not the same thing as stupid... or Bad.

No Good Player I know... would ever admit to the fact that their skill is or was dependant solely on the advice of others. No, the peeps who are considered good for those reasons are simply defined as robots in my book.

You don't actually read any of my help post it would seem.

    Some bad ideas.

    Dahjee trying to be right.

    My typing to much.

You abusing your power in the pvpec.

    Thats about all.

    Git llamaed.
  16. I kind of agree with nubby. Though either build is fine, I do run some ss only melee toons with webs. Very functional for zones. Oh and buy a fly pack. Which for some reason people have been raging on lately.

. I mean look at arena atm... Emp Emp Blaster Blaster Blaster Blaster Sonic Kin... This is after we got options that allowed for the closest to I12 that you can get. Options that are preffered for lolserious PvP

Is there any subject we can talk about where you will actually have a clue wtf you are talking about. Because this ain't it. I will let you know the reason for people wanting arena to be closer to i12. Because without it the box you want people to think outside of was even smaller. It took 2 ases to get a kill. Period, it was the only way possible. And while it may seem like they have very defined set ups they bring this only holds true with jump teams. Disruption based teams have wild varation. You may actually want to look into arena pvp before you comment on it again.

Also I am very anti-checkboxes. Its one of the reasons you don't hardly ever see me in the arena. I can do it, not that well but I can still do it. I just don't really like having to burn a dual build on an arena set up and another on zones. So please act like i am bad arean boi more.

See the difference here again is I actually know what I am talking about because I looked into it. Something it appears you do not ever do.

. Either I'm right, or you play your Trapper very poorly and could use some help.

Anyone who thinks a traps corr is in any way more viable or survivable than a traps mm is so wrong I am suprised they can remember how to breath. Anyone who thinks a traps corr is more useful than a traps mm to a team be it arena or zone I would believe to suffer from the same affliction. You are as bad as a traps corr in pvp, and thats pretty damn bad.
  18. Quote:
Maybe if you explained to me what about the /Traps Corr you had problems with I could help. It is very comparable to a /Dev, only a slightly different focus on debuff as opposed to self buffs. It is also more mobile than any /Traps MM due to higher HP more power selections, and less dependancy on Bodyguard mode. Again, my point was that too many dismiss what they have no actual experience with. If you are an exception... you are only that.

I try to be nice. I try to be patient. But seriously dude, why are you still talking. Let me start by saying I have played /dev and I have played traps. Other than webnade they are completely different, its not even close. As for the more mobile part, traps really isn't about being mobile on a mm, and for the record the only place the corr has more hp is to narrow minded people who only think of the hp total in the bar. MMs have some of the highest hp in the game unless they are played by someone who is really really bad. Dependancy on bg mode for infinte more survivabilty seems like a pretty decent trade off.

Lets break it down like this. I see a trapper who has set up debuffs. I am on a blaster. I see a corr and I waste it in little to time from range while he sits there either phasing or healing. It won't take much of a chain to bring him down, even ioed and accoed. Phasing makes him useless. And the only real hope they have is either someone wanders in and sits there or they tp someone in who isn't moving. Either way this is counting on the other player to be bad, which is what you shouldn't be preparing for in pvp. You should be preparing for the best to be attacking you at your worst. This is what I have said to you and countless others like you for quite some time now. We get it, you can kill bad zone pvpers. Congrats, this does not mean you should be answering questions like you have figured out the mysteries of the universe and no one else has.

Yet you are not the only one left, and it is quite foolish to think so considering some get smarter by the day having never known Pre I13 PvP. Also, congrats on obtaining a solid Reputation. I stand behind it fully. Maintain it though, don't get caught up into thinking that offering help is the same thing as helping... such confusion causes rage in some when people don't agree 100% with the advice/help offered. This ego rage is counter-productive to "helping" more often than not.

Listen to your own words. Offering help is not the same thing as helping. You are not helping anyone with your so called advice. There is a reason every person who has replied to any of your post save your one friend has told you over and over your advice is horrible, its because it is. I like that you want to get out there and let the voice of the 'gimp' set pvper out there. I will gladly point out again between barrier and myself we play more gimps than anyone else probably in game today. And we make them work far better than any of the results you posted. Hell since I brought it up the only real results/data you have posted to back up any claims that you have a clue are bad. Like real bad. Those are not the things you bring to a discussion to try to prove your point. Keep on rocking your ideas, just don't expect me or pretty much anyone around here to let it go unchecked. You post something decent we agree with I am sure you will have no problems with it not getting called out. But as long as you keep promoting the same message don't expect the replies to change.

At this point you are just posting to post, you really haven't even tried to be helpful since your intial burst of traps corr and tp = win post. You have managed to use insulting names and comments when you have not been greated with the acclaim you had obviously hoped for. I am sorry things didn't work out for you. But I admire your spirit to carry on in despite the complete lack of success. Perhaps you should try to learn some new stuff and post more help. Perhaps help people with builds when they ask and offer up truthful represntation of power sets. The community here is always willing to accept new people to step up and take the reins of leading new blood. We just want them to be leading them down the right paths.

Stop taking things so personal if possible. If you're gonna pretend to speak for the community, then at least respond as a rep. if you speak on personal experience... then be willing to accept the fact that others' personal experiences may have differed from yours.

I will get to the rest of the tl;dr when I get more time. Its personal when you call me the comedian and come at me. I respond in kind, break down your post so the you understand exactly where I am coming from and going.

As far as speaking for the community I will step out there and say I do. I am one the most knowledgeable and helpful pvpers left. You don't see me firing at people and mocking them, unless they fire first. This all started with you telling someone that traps was a completely viable zone toon as a corr. It not just my experience that says its bad. Its pretty much everyone but you. And even to that point all I did was correct the parts where you are blatantly wrong, and I backed it up with facts. And not facts like I can kill a scrapper that afks in my traps or I have a 9/5 k/d ratio in 3 hours in zone. I am here to help people pvp better. You on the other hand want to spread your joy and sunshine message that unique butterflies should be loved and appreciated. Well they shouldn't, they should be farmed like the zone liability that they are. Pure and simple.
  20. Drop leaping or fighting before you drop ss. You need ss to really negate movement slows.
  21. I would take aao. I just wouldn't freak out about keeping it toggled. OWTS is completely skippable, useful as an io mule at best. If you have room though take it.
  22. At this point they really just need to scrap the current pvpo drop system and start fresh. If they want people to stop farming them just make more of them drop. Its not a complicated thought process.
  23. Quite a few. Starblade- on freedom does fairly well. There are a few others but the name elude me atm.
  24. Soft cap and pvp don't really go together, there are to many buff and debuffs to take into consideration.

Get ranged as high as you possibly can. Get your melee in decent shape. For pvp I would try to take gc so you have as much debuff res as possible. Get your hp as high as you can to.

    Haha Conflict the comedian.
I fail to see me being funny their. Good job resorting to name in a reply to a sentence about name calling though, very well played.

LOL so funny you say that... isn't that what this whole thread is? Just another please devs fix it thread?

Epic didn't ask for anything to be fixed. He was wanted to know why some things worked they way they did. Then went on to whine and moan about how unfair it is and how lame someone base tping themselves is.

    Quote:
So nice that you and some can be exceptions to this rule.... way to double standard mate. I'd like to see you chime in with that statement next time I help someone with teleport and/or Traps or something only to have 15 peeps who have no clue about either chime in with opinions that should be regarded as worthless.

Here is the good part. I do play traps in pvp. I do have toons with tp I have pvped with. I have posted that over and over. You seem to somehow miss those post though. You didn't invent it. You didn't even perfect it. I have even replied to people around here that they need tp for what they are trying to do.

Maybe someday when you come up with better advice or even a better attitude you might be taken more serious around these parts. It probably just won't be any time soon.
