Projects like these are always fun. My personal project is to get one of each MM primary to 50.
Granted, I've only been playing on-and-off these last months, so I only have one 50 Thugs/, and one 41 Robotics/. But I'll get there, eventually. -
To clarify, the goggles are from the Science pack. I couldn't think of any other really 'big' bug goggle type headgear off the top of my head, but as the whole grasshopper theme is important to the costume design as a whole, I felt it needed big red bug eye goggles. The 'regular' bug eyes (which actually come with proper antennae as an option) seemed too small and didn't work well with a helmet, coming off as 'actual' eyes. I found the goggles to be the most important part of the costume that I could not substitute for anything not available in a booster.
The Natural/Martial Arts booster provided the sword, the gloves, and the boots. You might be able to substitute these for something else, though; black-tinted leather Warrior boots/gloves simply gave off the most 'basic' light-armored feel I could find. Also you did not specify whether you actually intend to go for broadsword, martial arts, or something completely different, and even if you go BS you might feel like picking one with a different design. I just picked the closest one to the one in the screenshot (thin straight blade) I could find, the Chinese Jian in the same booster.
The various goggles and gasmasks in the Science booster have served me well several times in the construction of various do-it-yourself helmets.
[EDIT]: Powersets from that video are Martial Arts/Regeneration/Body Mastery, with both Super Speed and Flight as travel pools. -
Closest I could get involved the use of 2 booster packs. (Science, Natural)

Be glad you're not Robotics/. Protector Bots are just as bad (if not worse) with Endurance, except there's two of them.

How, if at all, does DN's damage debuff figure into this?
-
You know, I've always been wondering how to get the Soulbound BU proc to work on pets. From what I've heard, the BU proc doesn't work in anything except the T3 pet. My own personal testing attempts seem to confirm this.
-
The normal (non-vomit) Hold effect has extremely unnoticeable visuals, from what I've found, having recently levelled a Traps MM to 41 (and going).
Putting a Lockdown +2 Hold proc in the power made it pretty nice, though. You'll notice the power's innate hold too when the two stack and hold a Boss, for example. -

Still can't buy the booster (waited well over 24 hours), still waiting for support to get back to me...
I don't suppose there's any more direct way I could get help with this? -
Illusion Control. It even has a 'Flash' power that blinds enemies with a flash of light.
Not sure about a secondary. -
Huh, that's... odd. I've never had any problems with the store before this. Did something change over the years?
Still waiting. -
Quote:Wow.Description: When things seem to go right for the heroes and all wrong for the bad guys, you'll likely be there. This hero is has the unique ability to affect luck itself by manipulating probability fields. The heroes will find themselves getting lucky shots in while villians will inexplicably miss.
Did a redside player insult your mother or something? -
I've bought all the other boosters before this one with no issues.
Currently waiting for my problem to be 'escalated' or something. Might give that proxy thing a try.
[Edit]: Proxy didn't work either. Guess I'm waiting. -
Tried again just now, still failed. Bleh!
I don't think I've ever contacted support before. Do I just send them an e-mail or what? -
Well.
That's...
Frustrating. Especially when you consider how I actually renewed just so I could make my toons have fancy new glowmaps on them.
How long would you say is 'a few days', give or take? -
I just keep getting this error. Anyone have any idea what could be causing this and how I could fix it or what I should do/who I should contact?
Weird thing is that I just renewed my subscription just fine using the same credit card, and it's definitely not spent for the month yet. -
Just a friendly bit of advice, but I'd honestly recommend considering a tri-form build over a human-only one, focusing your slots in Mire, Eclipse, the pets, the two nukes, and the form attacks.
Of course, it's your character and you're free to do what you want with it. Just saying tri-form is ridiculously fun, unless you'd be saddened by not seeing your costume a lot. -
I was actually considering skipping Electron Haze. I read somewhere on the boards that a Blaster with a melee-heavy playstyle doesn't really need it, plus I hate knockback if it's a % chance and not guaranteed.
Well, okay, that's a lie - I hate knockback in general. -
I swear the pets have gotten a lot stupider over the years, somehow. I took a long, half-year or so break from the game and only got back a month or two ago, and my robots are running into melee a lot more frequently than when I last played, often ignoring my commands entirely unless I set them to All Passive - GoTo or Defensive or Stay just don't work at all, they don't even bother turning around and will run off half the map away to chase that one flying Longbow, aggroing everything in their path no matter what I command them to do. At least back in the day they'd listen to my commands...
Protector Bots don't even have Brawl, damn it, why do they want to run into melee? -
So I noticed Radiation Blast has some pretty nifty animations and a PBAoE in it; the only other set to have a non-nuke PBAoE that I can think of that isn't Electricity Blast.
What would be a good secondary to pair with it for a melee-heavy/blapper playstyle?
Fire Manipulation for the raw damage and loads and loads of PBAoE?
Or Mental Manipulation for higher personal survivability from Drain Psyche, so I don't get instagibbed while I'm blapping away?
Something else entirely? Eager to hear recommendations from those of you more familiar with Blasters. I've barely ever touched blueside and I simply figured it's about time to try out another hero.
[Edit]: Also, how well would either combination (or a different one) solo?
[Edit2]: Neutrino Bolt or X-Ray Beam? Or do I grab both? -
His attack cycle is just plain too terrible to build and sustain a high amount of Fury - he spends too much time just standing there and waiting for his next attack to recharge.
This was made worse when they made +Recharge not affect pets anymore.
So yeah, I tend to pretend it doesn't even exist. -
I think someone posted the exact colors to get the closest possible match somewhere in either the Costum Re-Design thread or the Post Your Best Costumes thread over in the fan works section of the forum.
