How D folks. OK so I am having graphic issues with Max Ultra Mode for reasons I cannot fathom. It surrounds everything with, well blocks basically. When I use the recommended settings the game looks really good. OK here is what I am running...
Windows 7 64-bit AMD Phenom II x4 Quad 3.2 GHz CPU 8 Gigs DDR3 RAM 2 ATI 5770s (with the up-to-date 10.6 drivers) Directx 11 (backwards compatible) Any suggestions? |
Doesn't matter which one you turn off, just turn off one of them.

For clarification: they don't work together.

Turning off ambient occlusion turns off the little shadows that gather in corners and the shadows that are darker where multiple shadows overlap.
Turning off anti-aliasing makes edges have jagged spots, not smooth 'natural' edges.
I always suggest keeping anti-aliasing and turning off ambient occlusion.

Depth of Field also causes some minor artefacts. I turn that off as well as Ambiant Occlusion and the game looks sharp again.
I turn off DoF because it makes it look like you have smeared glasses on. HATE that smeary-blurry effect.
