To the OP:
If you are not already aware, in I16 they are adding more difficulty levels, specifically to increase mob spawns depending on what you set your pseudo team size to be. So this change to teaming/sidekick system is very unlikely to happen. But on the plus side you should be able to find more people to team with since all the people using anchors and pads will be able to do it on their own. -

How is this suggestion supposed to make the game better?
Oh yeah. It doesn't.
/unsigned and 2 BIG thumbs down.
[/ QUOTE ]
I touched on that, but didn't go into detail. First it allows people to play together with out spending time to find side kicks. It also, allows people of large level ranges to play together so it's much easier to find teams. It means it's far less likly to jump on a toon and no longer be able to find a team. It wouldn't take nearly as long to create a team. More playing less standing around waiting. Also, that would most likely keep more players playing longer and make it that much easier to find teams.
It also allows you to be able to play with your super group mates and freinds easier.
It allows higher level players to experince more content.
It would also, slow power leveling down a bit (if that's an issue for you/someone).
[/ QUOTE ]
Finding teams is not difficult first of all. Secondly if you are having trouble finding teams, start your own...and thirdly, there is no need to wait around. Go play the game while you are trying to get a team together. This game is very solo friendly.
Problem solved.
One thing I do if I don't really want to start a team. I turn my looking for any flag on and go play. You'd be surprised how well that works.
If you are trying to solve teaming issues (which a lot could be done to make the team building tools a lot better), this suggestion is does not the one. -
As long as there is a way to turn it off, I'm ok with it and it is NOT ON by default.
Think about if you meant to stick an enhancer in an empty slot and accidentally dropped it on a slot with one already in it and it combines. There goes that additional 33% of whatever. -
You make some good points Rachel. The game was designed around fighting huge spawns of enemies, not one or two at a time, even in large groups of players, to where tactics such as this would not play out well. I didn't consider the slow attacks like psi blast, and yeah, that would suck. Who is going to stand there and wait for it to hit them? haha.

I really like the idea. The only thing that the devs would have to overcome is the idea that suppression would have to be removed for this work. It would not be very fun trying to take cover when you can't move fast enough to do so.
And, unfortunetely, the devs seem to want to keep us in the middle of a fight as opposed to playing tactically. -

Running through the sewers to get 8 fast levels is farming, pal. Sorry to break it to you, but that's the truth.
[/ QUOTE ]
What a curious new definition of farming.

damn, beat me to it. -
I would use this if it was added. Also, while we are at it, why not make it so you can add an aura to just one hand or eye, etc, etc.

As Lothic said, the tech was added open ended.
When and if they activate more future builds is the question.
The same idea with the levlling pacts, it was said that in the future it is possible to expand to more than 2 folks (an entire pacted superteam of 8 would be great), but they wanted to see how they worked with just 2.
One common theme.
Tech that is added now appears to be wirtten to be 'future proof' and expandable. Unlike the basic power system that the game was given at launch.
This is to me a very good sign.

Don't quote me in any way shape or form, but I believe the reason they don't have this option is because, in order for the booster packs to be applied to your account, you have to be logged out of the game, and the in-game store requires that you be logged in to access it.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm pretty sure that is incorrect. Being logged into the game has no affect on updating a database. The extra character slots update your game account just like the boosters and the expansions. So, who knows. I'm sure we will be able to at some point.
but /signed for this to be done. -

Bought and applied to 3 of the household accounts.
Can't do the 4th due to the security measures/buy limits. I understand the need for them but I do think this may be a little too restrictive.
Feedback:
Is there any chance of upping the purchase limit form 3 to 4 ?
[/ QUOTE ]
What they should do is allow you to specify a quantity. So you can purchase 3 or 4 codes or however many you want in the same transaction then apply the codes later. -

Purchased and applied. Can't wait to get home and play with this!

One thing to keep in mind Werewolf.
Even the "free" online games still need money to operate. They most commonly make money from box sales and/or advertising. The website based games usually are completely advertising and donation based.
As far as NCSoft goes I wouldn't be surprised if they funnel some of the CoX cash and other sub based games into their "free" games. -
[ QUOTE ]
My friend and I had a long discussion about influence. Here's how I undersand it based on our conversation.
Influence is not money. It's how well known you are and how willing people are to give you things... for free.
Imagine you're actually a superhero and you live in a world where people could help you fight crime by giving you things. You don't walk into a store to BUY gadget DOs. They actually give them to you. For instance, Bill owns the shop and last week you saved his friend from Hellions. He has a business to run and can't give you too much for free. He also has thousands of other heroes coming and going. But you've done him a service, and he's read about you in the newspaper, so you're worth a few free gadgets.
Word of mouth travels fast in CoH, which is why passing NPCs always talk about your exploits. It takes no time at all before people know you got some free stuff. They know you're awesome, but you've already been given things, so you don't need more stuff right now. At least, until you save that shopkeeper's uncle next week. A typical conversation when you're low on influence may sound like "Listen man, I know you're Superman, but I have a family to feed. I gave you all I can spare, but I'm hanging on to some things for Ultradude who destroyed that giant monster yesterday." After you do a big deed, people want to help out.
Why do you get no influence from fighting grays? Because, honestly, the city expects more of you. If you're Superman, they want you to be saving the world from metorites and cosmic death rays, not muggers on the street. There are thousands of heroes in the city who can do that. Get back to work. The exception here is that if you're exemped, you DO get influence. The reasoning here is that you're helping another individual (exemped to a person) or a group of people (task force) using your knowledge and expertise. Superman teaches a new hero how to save the world. There's influence to be had there.
You go to the market. People are still trading things for "free" there. You meet another superhero who invented an awesome invention, and is willing to give it to you. It's SO incredibly awesome and powerful that the city doesn't feel the need to help you out for quite some time, because you're ahead of the game and there are other heroes they need to tend to. As for the inventor who created the awesome gadget, the city says "Wow, that guy totally invented something that helped out SUPERMAN!" and now they're willing to help YOU out.
You find a lowbie friend, and vouch for him. Your influence is now his. Word spreads around town that Superman is supporting and promoting Sidekick Lad. Anyone who wanted to help out Superman should focus their efforts on the new, upcoming hero that Superman is endorsing instead.

Very nice, well said. -

The only place this might bump into trouble is for people who already have weapon sets--as far as I know, you can only have one custom weapon, so they'd all have to be a "standard" weapon.
[/ QUOTE ]
You can have more than one. My archery blaster has munitions mastery and I can customize both my weapons. -

The level 32 power should be "Super Black Hole" or something.
[/ QUOTE ]
Black hole seems to be the obvious choice... but its taken.
Maybe make it a placed aoe power(like the rain powers) that sucks all the enemies to teh middle and damages them??
[/ QUOTE ]
That would be cool and kind of what I was thinking. -

Why can't the auto sidekicking thing be removed?
If people want ot play higher level content normally they must be sidekicked properly, why should AE be any different? I see no benifit to auto-sidekicking, all it does it present a host of power leveling opportunities.
[/ QUOTE ]
Exactly. There is no need to auto sk at all. In fact I, unfortunately, ended up on an AE team a while back that were in their late teens early 20s trying to fight malta in the 40s. While it is a "challenge", if you can even call it that, it is still lame. The whole team wiped countless times and the leader...which was also the mission creator insisted we could defeat the very first spawn of Zues Titans and Gunslingers. These guys were obviously new to the game because they also thought that they would get more experience from defeating the much higher mobs. I tried to explain how XP works in this game to no avail. They insisted I didn't know what I was talking about and that the game was broke. -
The level 32 power should be "Super Black Hole" or something.
-
It already exists in the game. It is the game.
-
um...PCI?
I would recommend upgrading your whole computer. For $300 you can a low end system that is more than likely way better than what you probably have now.
Over 5 years ago when I started playing this game I was using a custom built Pentium III 700 with an AGP graphics card and 768mb of RAM and I had no issues. -
yeah, no kidding. I have barely enough time to read some of the game hints on the loading screens.
-
I was expecting bed wetting Rikti, but yeah, this could be updated.

I saw the Architect Edition at Target the other day.
EDIT: Crap, it may have been GameStop, but I was visiting family in Pittsburgh, PA. I know I saw it somewhere because I picked it up to look at what was on the box and opened up the dust cover over the DVD case.
