I don't mind being wrong. I was just annoyed that there was no testing to verify MARTy was implemented correcty. It's not that I don't trust the devs but I've been around long enough to know that any new mechanic introduced can and usualy does have a few bugs that need to be tweaked.
Feel free to gloat. It doesn't bother me. -

The tutorial is flipping amazing.
FPARN again. <goes and gets lottery tickets> -
I purposely did not check out the tutorial in Beta so I could get the full experience on a new lowbie once Live. Today I had that chance when I created Vicis, my Ice/Time Corruptor.
It was amazing. I am very VERY impressed with what the developers, art team, everyone came up with here. Its so cool! I love the layout of GC, the rubble, the shivans, the CHAOS! The pathing can feel a bit rushed but if you just stop and take a moment, you really get a feel for the amount of work and effort that went into the zone(s).
Once I leveled up and passed through the tunnel, I wasn't quite sure what to expect but I do know that I didn't expect a GIANT SHIVAN! There I was, with a handful of other heroes, fighting this giant monster at level 2! Very heroic like.
So, as much as I ***** and moan about other aspects of this game I have to give credit where credit is due here. Very well done Paragon Studios. Very well done indeed.
Thank you very much. Please take meh moniez.

Quote:His role as lead dev dictates he is the one to blame for any faults people have in this game. He is ultimately responsible for the development. You read way too much into what happened. You're also attributing far too much that went wrong (in your opinion) to his role as lead.
Obviously he did not design or create all the mechanics, but he presides over the meetings and makes the final and tough decisions for the direction of the game.
It's no different than any other leader. He gets credit for the game doing well and he'll get thrown under the bus if it does not. -
Quote:I was replying to a specific post about a specific analogy and why it did not apply. That's all.But they DO own the service that you're using, and they most certainly DO have the right, both moral and legal, to make sure you're not doing something evil to that service. We might disagree on how far that right extends. The EULA states that it extends pretty far. Practically speaking, it won't ever come to that, it's just lawyers playing the "what if...?" game.

I certainly does suck when tech issues get in the way of getting what you want, like Tokens or even logging into the game due to unfortunate server maintenance.
I use to pay in 12 month increments (6 months currently) but will be month-to-month now. -
Thanks for the link/info.
I agree! I really really like the way these new vgroups are being designed. The Talons of Vengence look very threatening. Can't wait to see what they look like under my boot!
EDIT: Wait wait wait. Do you see the fingers on the Talons of Vengence?! I can HAZ?!!! -
Quote:There should probably be an asterisk next to Limited that points to a more detailed explanation. That is, if NcSoft is trying for full disclosure up front.Limited is a bit vague. In this case it means: pay $2 a month for an Invention License, or use 27 Reward Tokens for a lifetime license. Or purchase attuned IO sets from directly the store. Of course, that's all very wordy. Perhaps they can make a Knowledge Base article on this subject
In any case, Limited does seem to imply some sort of limits -
Quote:Excellent. Thank you.Touch of Lady Grey, chance for energy damage
Explosive Strike, chance for smashing damage
Dark Watcher's Despair, chance for recharge slow
Last one is more of a test. If I don't see any kind of effect, I will probably take it out. -

The +Def portion of the Hami-O ups the defense debuff granted from AD.

Quote:I think most people who are fans of the shows in question would love to see their series hit the boob tube again. However, I'm not sure I would be down for a reboot. Here's a question - if this station, we'll call it CTS (Cancelled too soon), did these re-runs and some of them got decent ratings. Would it be a good idea or bad idea to reboot the series with as many of the original creators as possible, maybe some of the same actors if it was feasible?

Well, last night was my first go at this. I used my level 50 Fire/Fire Blaster that has Set IOs but mainly for frankenslotting and no real advantages like Softcapped Defense or perma BU/AIM.
It was a trip down memory lane! The first Trial (BAF) was pretty bad and I died a handful of times due to overestimating my ability to kill level 54 ambushes during the Siege/NS fights at level 50 and even 50+1.
By the 4th Trial I was done dying and had re-remembered how to effectively play a blaster with so many AoEs and wafer-thin skin. It was very exciting! I was flying by the seat of my pants most times and had to rely heavily on tactics outside of BU + AIM + ALL AOEs NAO!!
So, thanks again for all the feedback. -

Quote:I'm very aware of the steps needed to make inf in this game. My problem is having to choose between: a) spending time on the market or b) mashing buttons on my characters.1.) If you would like to have multiple IOed out characters, you owe it to yourself to check out the market forum. There are a lot of strategies that involve putting in bids and waiting for them to get filled. Since you have multiple characters that you are playing every now and again, this could be a good way to keep your influence topped off.
I sometimes have the opportunity for both and I take advantage of it but that's rare.
Quote:2.) You can get a huge amount of bang for buck just by Frankenslotting or using cheap sets. Will the set bonuses be "the best"? No. But they'll be pretty darn good. Crushing Impact, Thunderstrike, Multi-Strike, etc they all have good enhancement value *and* adequate set bonuses. You can generally save a ton of money by avoiding level 50 set IOs and picking whatever is cheapest from 41-49. The difference in enhancement value is not that significant.
Quote:3.) You can get some of the expensive IOs by doing tip missions for alignment merits.
Thanks again for the input everyone.
