Based on my own casually ebil practices,... Yes, right now with commons it is that easy, and you're in the wheelhouse. no need to move at all.
-
yeah, this one is pretty much a piece of cake redside... reds reverse equivalent to the paragon protector blueside really
-
Redside I've had good luck with bronze rolls that include lvl 30. Opens several nice sets for general sales and some good procs. Blueside I've had less luck in that range, and have yet to determine a best fit. I'd welcome suggestions also.

Interesting.
On an ITF run last night Daedalus turned on the villains on the team and ran amok. I /bugged it, then we drug him off to party with 5th elsewhere so we could get back to work. -
Hmmm, so the consensus is generally the same regardless - +rech +rng def? No real variance in set strategy based on powerset?
I guess that shouldn't surprise me, but it does for some reason. -
Driving in to work today I got to thinking about the approaches to IO sets and their bonuses.
I hear about +rech and +def the most, but there are other options: +health, +regen, +dmg, slows, mez protection, etc., etc. I realized that in addition to power selection and general enhancement slotting choices there could be several differentiating approaches to applying sets that could change the play style of otherwise similar characters. (I know this isn't a revelation, but I was considering it more thoroughly than normal for me.)
Anyway, in particular, these thoughts grew from thinking about my top corrs. I have two 50 that, while I haven't spent a mint, I have done work over the last year or so on getting set bonuses, and I realized that I had used different approaches with them without really being conscious of it.
On my Dark/ (both solo and team builds) I focused foremost on +regen (+recov also, but any tie-breaking always went +regen). My assumption was that I could leverage the -acc in my attacks to decrease the number of hits I took and then have my regen high enough to survive what did get through. I am still vulnerable to high burst damage, but my general durability after breaking 20hp/sec is quite nice.
My Son/Rad I worked pretty consistently on +rech, but not exclusively enough to get to perma hasten. my +regen success on the dark had me trying to work in some elements of that. +rech is great with Son/ to keep the attacks flowing and with /Rad to keep the debuffs and heals up as much as possible. (I probably should go back and focus her sets more, and see if the perma hasten takes it in new directions.)
So, do you find that different philosophies work for different corrs? anything you tried seem to fail?
What has good synergy with the AT or specific powersets? -

Also whats another hard one to get?

Outcast bosses only spawn in the sixth mission from Marshal Brass, and only 3 per map if you are with a full team.

How do updated spawn rules affect this? -

I found another ticket bug.
Maybe others have seen it too.
Just yesterday, I was running a task force, the new one that Khan gives, and I didn't get a single ticket drop. Killed tons of mobs and no one on the team got one. We did, however, keep getting notifications that we were getting something called "Salvage". WTF, I don't want that garbage, I want the tickets that I'm entitled to!
Dev's, plz fix this or I'll cancel my sub.

k.
I admit I smiled. a little -
I like the merit-buff.
I'll try and make it if my daughter's weekend softball tourney is over by then. -
With all the general hub-bub around this SF this is very cool to see.
gratz -
I have a Dark/ and a Rad/ Corr, but don't have either of the secondaries redside. I do have them Blueside (Dark/def, /rad troller)
My gut says Rad/Dark for the Corr.
/Dark is a fine secondary choice, with some debuff, a nice heal, low maintenance team mitigation that works equally well for solo play, and a nice pet.
Rad/ does decent damage with good secondary effects thrown in. -

Recipe information not popping up on 'mouseover.'
1. Open Wentworth's/Black Market screen.
2. Place multiple recipes in your auction house slots.
3. Mouse over 'stored' recipes.
Results: Only the last recipe placed in the auction house will show 'mouseover' text. It does not matter if any other items are currently stored in the auction house, or their order.

This is such an amazingly annoying bug. I never really appreciated how important that feature is, until now that it is not working.
[/ QUOTE ]
Forgot to /bug it but was noting the mouse over bug on SO when looking to buy at a vendor in IP last night. -

In the past month and a half of trying, I've been repeatedly told that there is no point in my Inv/SS tanker trying to tank the Statesman TF, that ONLY stone tanks can do this. Now, this isn't a month and a half of trying the TF and not succeeding, this is a month and a half of not even being allowed to try because I'm not a Stone Tank.
[/ QUOTE ]
Invul/ has tanked STF.
There have been all defender STF
There are build/AT choices that make it smoother, and less risk, but anyone who says that its a 'must' is... well, they are wrong. -

I vote for Juggertha. Love that childlike wonder he brought to the piece.

I have not tried SS (heresy, I know)
But of the tanks I've played my Invul/ has been my favorite.
He is /EM, fwiw.
[/ QUOTE ]
Like my DA/ too. would like it a lot more if I hadn't picked /DB just to be different. -
You have gotten quality answers across the board on your main questions.
I wanted to tag another little thing in your comments.

Any have any random contacts we can go talk too?
[/ QUOTE ]
At level 15, you can go to Faultline and get Jim Tremblor as a contact.
He has a story arc, and then there are a series of contacts and arcs that tell a larger story that is actually a lot of fun.
At 20 you can go to Striga Isle and find a similar experience - a sequence of contacts with arcs strung into a single macro-arc.
Croatoa will offer the same thing after... 25 I think. Again the Wiki is nice.
Oh! and welcome!
edit: and to Ironblade's point. if you are on Justice, feel free to fire me a question (global is the same as my forum handle). -

this issue is terrible besides the Super Booster
i don't get why they are putting it up at all
[/ QUOTE ]
Posi commented on this in his recent Boomtown.net interview. They wanted to have an issue that released around the time of the game's 5 year anniversary. But MA took them longer than expected, so rather than skip the release entirely the pulled some features that were planned for this one and it ended up being pretty thin.
Given that it's happening so soon after the last issue, I don't really see any reason to complain.

new TF, new SF, tons of bug fixes, new costume stuff...
not hard to find the silver lining here -
nope. used all of mine that I wanted.

[ QUOTE ]
Faultline really? I don't remember ever seeing any there before. Where about in Faultline are they usually located?
[/ QUOTE ]
With the Arachnos spawns. Active population/teams in the zone affect spawn rates of bosses, etc. So if a lot going on in Fault, then you'll spot them scattered about. If its quiet, less likely.
Cap redside has been good lately, what with all the AE teams. -
Geez, my gut reaction would have been "new issue release! yippee!" but some people find the negative and set up camp.

It alludes to some adult subjects.

For the record, that's actually covered by a T rating. "Suggestive themes" is the phrase, if I remember correctly.

Also, "On-line Interactions are not rated by the ESRB" -
Dark/Cold does surprisingly well, and is fun. The -acc from the primary make it very survivable. There are times you notice what seems to be slightly low damage from Dark/, but on the whole one of the most fun builds I've played.

Bah! Again, I miss Origins.
Have fun. -

The real problem with Cold is the graphical effects, same with Cold Armour. I can't even begin to imagine the pain of spending my entire exsistance with 7 snowmen.
[/ QUOTE ]
Its awesome. Its like having your own frosty the ice golem army.
[/ QUOTE ]
Unless you're the defender creating the golems, the graphical effects get really annoying. That's my point of view, but I suspect it's shared by others. I don't go through all the effort in the costume generator so the results can be obliterated by someone's overbearing ice shields. And it gets difficult to keep track of who's who on the team when they all look the same.
Don't get me wrong, I love the defense the shields give, but the fx suck.
[/ QUOTE ]
How is this different from storm defender using hurricane or a sonic defender making everything boom orange or a FFer making everyone look like hamsters in rolly balls?
[/ QUOTE ]
And all that costume obliteration for a meager portion of the total play time.
The fx are meaningless (from an aesthetic standpoint) from us or any of our buffing buddies. -

I laughed a little, it's funny that since Champions Online, CoH is officially stealing pages, nay whole books from them. I can't say its a bad thing, but if we have to wait for another upcoming MMO to experience the same content, then epic fail for the Devs. I'm happy that we finally get to change our "red pom pom's of doom, or the rainbow invul, but taking 4+ years to do so was very lazy. I understand they didn't expect the franchise to get as big as it is, but cmon. Color palettes are the easiest thing to do in any game. You can ask any developer, it's been done on weaker engines , like the NES or SNES. It's no secret its standard programming, why It took this long is pretty sad. Especially since people have been modding CoH for a while now.
[/ QUOTE ]
I see all the changes differently - its coincides with the change in ownership and a willingness to invest time, effort and money in the product.
And customization will make the sights in Paragon City even more.... interesting... then they can be today, but it'll be fun.
