your approaches to corr set bonsuses?
Softcapped ranged defense is awesome on a lot of corruptors. The softcap number is 45%. Just get hover and fly and you're all set.
range def, then recov and recharge
In general I'd say go with enhancing your strengths. Add resistance if you've got resistance buffs and/or damage debuffs. Add defense if you have defense buffs and/or tohit debuffs.
There are exceptions though. Any amount of +recovery or +rech is nice to have. Same for KB protection.

I order these in the exact opposite direction, but yes these are the main things to focus on.
Really depends on the support set. For Cold, nothing is more important than +Recharge because of all the long recharge powers in the set and the fact that Sleet can be easily double stacked for a nice overlap of -60% res.
I would assume for corruptors you either go for recharge or ranged defense, whatever compliments your powersets best.
Most other set bonuses aren't that great really.
I like +Hit Points as well.

Hmmm, so the consensus is generally the same regardless - +rech +rng def? No real variance in set strategy based on powerset?
I guess that shouldn't surprise me, but it does for some reason.
heh. just noticed my mis-type in the original post title.
On my sonic/dark, I went for recovery, acc, ranged def, rech. Non-DR numbers are: about 3.2/s recovery, 65ish global acc, 25ish ranged def, and about 30% global recharge.

Driving in to work today I got to thinking about the approaches to IO sets and their bonuses.
I hear about +rech and +def the most, but there are other options: +health, +regen, +dmg, slows, mez protection, etc., etc. I realized that in addition to power selection and general enhancement slotting choices there could be several differentiating approaches to applying sets that could change the play style of otherwise similar characters. (I know this isn't a revelation, but I was considering it more thoroughly than normal for me.)
Anyway, in particular, these thoughts grew from thinking about my top corrs. I have two 50 that, while I haven't spent a mint, I have done work over the last year or so on getting set bonuses, and I realized that I had used different approaches with them without really being conscious of it.
On my Dark/ (both solo and team builds) I focused foremost on +regen (+recov also, but any tie-breaking always went +regen). My assumption was that I could leverage the -acc in my attacks to decrease the number of hits I took and then have my regen high enough to survive what did get through. I am still vulnerable to high burst damage, but my general durability after breaking 20hp/sec is quite nice.
My Son/Rad I worked pretty consistently on +rech, but not exclusively enough to get to perma hasten. my +regen success on the dark had me trying to work in some elements of that. +rech is great with Son/ to keep the attacks flowing and with /Rad to keep the debuffs and heals up as much as possible. (I probably should go back and focus her sets more, and see if the perma hasten takes it in new directions.)
So, do you find that different philosophies work for different corrs? anything you tried seem to fail?
What has good synergy with the AT or specific powersets?
