Granted, it was for moving effect and foreshadowed far earlier in the film, but John Wayne's death in The Shootist was the definition of a cheapshot.

Quote:Yeah, I tried, but just couldn't make it through it...Thanks for the attempt. I tried listening to it but had to bail out due to that sound.
I hope there is someone out here that are able to remove that high pitched noise.
...
or someone that can make a transcript
How does that even happen with a camera/camcorder? -
Quote:And those kills all have to be during the same day cyclehes very particular way of spawning, you basically have to kill 100 nerva daemons, and then he will spawn at dusk once 100 daemons have been killed, another caveat is that the demons have to be on thorn isle
basically its just kill nerva daemons till he spawns, sometimes it requires a bit of patience though
Quote:During the day, we had a team of 8 defeat the Spectral Demons, then when the sun went down, the Event Messege Popped up saying he spawned.
Took us almost 10 minutes to find him, which he was about 500yrds in the air. Good luck finding him once he spawns, thats the hard part.
Quote:I remember trying to solo spawn him not so long ago, and I did see him briefly whilst flying around at night - I actually flew past him before I recognised who it was, and as soon as I spun around to chase him, he'd vanished - so I'm guessing that he does spawn but despawns after a very short period of time.
That I do not know... I doubt it as other messages for GMs pop up at spawn, regardless of player aggro, but Caleb could be different. -
OK, we were on Justice. Similar crash at a similar time, but as I said I did receive the reward. Weird.

Just reading the comments and the semi-evasive responses from the OP tells me all I want to know.

Hhhmmm. I completed a Synapse about this same time, but walked away after quitting the TF for dinner. I had expected my character to afk and then inactive log, but came back to find CoH had crashed.
Reading the forums I wonder if we were in the same TF (I was playing an elec/ dom name of Myriam).
Regardless, I just logged in to check and I have both badge and merits awarded successfully. -
Quote:Or as with the Khan TF... there could be a matching Loyalist TF at the same time taking action to herald Cole's invasion and/or counter the effects of the Apex TF... but they did only mention the one, so maybe not.Ooh, I just saw that they said that the Incarnate system will be "inititally Praetorian focused" - so that surely means the Apex TF must be linked to Praetoria in some way?
Plus, as the picture of him is in the RWZ, that probably confirms it as a co-op TF, rather than twin story-line approach like the KTF.
It also ties in with both the blue and the red sides getting involved on the side of the Resistance.
Quote:Wouldnt it be easier to just increase the base recovery of all characters and keep the fitness pool as it is but just as a way to take it to an even higher level so it doesnt feel so essential but more of a luxury?

Twitter only?
Nobody filmed the panel this time?
(Any really, anyone as bitter and knee jerk everything is bad as some of these posts should maybe find another game. It would be healthier.) -
And it was bad advertising. I knew what the movie was from these boards. Not one trailer on TV that I saw gave me a feel for what it was about or made me want to see it. That tells me it translated poorly to the general public and failed to get outside of the geek only crowd.

Wasn't there a mention of Old San Diego someplace... in some arc... by some character...

Quote:It also drives quite a bit of the baseline market activity - salvage demand and crafted enh supply. Dropping that to account wide would take a bite out of things. Not supposed to be fun. Its a time sink which rewards the player with 1/2 price crafting anywhere they want to do it.
Yes. I agree having it global would be great, even if its just the accolade and crafting table, but with the email system its kinda moot. I now use two accounts at the same time, one shopper emailing the recipes and salvage to the crafter. -
Another consideration to play around with:
Energy Manipulator: chance to stun
I had one drop and slotted it for fun in the mid-late teens. I'm seeing it proc. Haven't decided if it is worth it with all the sleep and hold flying around long term... more than likely pull it at later levels as I decide on final slotting.
Beyond that, I agree, accuracy and end mod with commons. Set slot to taste -
Quote:*shrugs* If Elec doms were somehow woefully underpowered, you might be more correct on 'major issue.' Some dominator sets really like Domination, some don't need it that much. Elec is more towards the 'doesn't need it much' end of the spectrum.
Agreed, Talen.
I can more than live with the issue in the OP.
In fact, *ssshhh*. If we don't talk about electric control. Maybe they won't notice the beast that my elec/ dom appears to be and try to normalize it. -

Quote:Montague's arc is a pretty special case. That one is different than a standard mission. What I'm talking about is...well, go and do Monatgue's arcs, set to x2 No Bosses. There are literally hundreds of Bosses, downscaled or otherwise.
I think the general response so far are prettty much on target, though I understand where Techbot and the OP are coming from. When things shift, they are noticeable quickly... but, yeah, I still think it is WAI. -
Quote:Bah. Foolishness (so, yeah, mileage does vary). Many played this set with success before inventions were even in the game. Is it easy? No. Does it take some planning and tactics? Yes.I don't mean to sound bad, but Dark Armor is inherently an endurance hog. The few people that I know had to spend lots of money for IO sets just to get it to work for them.
Me personally, I don't like having to pause every mob huffing and puffing or popping blues like there candy, so I just avoid it like the Plague. But again, that's just me your millage may very.
However, that said, are IOs and IO sets fabulous for Dark Armor, and make it much less intensive to manage? Absolutely yes.
Quote:Ive been told to plan to IO. Grab stamina and the physical perfection epic. grab the heal proc theft of the essence. Every now and then the proc will give end as it heals you. You dont need the fear cloak, grab the stun instead.
Quote:Dark Armour's toggles are cheaper than normal, so running four base toggles (two armours, mez protection and Cloak of Darkness) amounts to the same end cost as the three Super Reflexes toggles.
Oppressive Gloom is dirt cheap on end - less than 1/4 of a normal toggle cost.
The end hogs are Dark Regen - base end cost of 33, and Cloak of Fear, which costs double the normal toggle cost at least.
If you skip Cloak of Fear and slot the Theft of Essence proc in Dark Regen, you're at the same end cost as any other armour set.
The Theft of Essence proc is a game changer for Dark Regen. Most of the time, at a minimum, it proc enough in a crowd to balance the cost, and often grants back more than the cost.
The Cloack of Fear is a dreadful endurance hog and is skippable - though I like it.
Quote:Any set with a damage aura, I tend to put off taking that aura until after stamina or at least after health gets slotted with a Numina's. The damage toggles are always heavy on the endurance bar.
Quote:Also to further what everyone has said on DA as well as on some other melee sets that before Stamina and SO's I find it very helpful to slot 2 end redux do's in all my attacks sometimes even 3.
This way your not really wasting slots since once you hit 22 just drop it down to 1 end redux then the extra slots get slotted with damage. -
Put me in the camp that thinks some voracious Redside appetites have hit the combined market.

"Practical Demonkeeping" by Christopher Moore
which I actually picked at the time because I like the title so much
"The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories" by Tim Burton
Dreadfully goofy poetry, fun read if light -
Quote:My gut reaction says the ToE proc is the most important, gaming changing choice. However, in a question of applying resources, Dechs is probably correct.Theft of Essence is cheaper on the market, but more important. Use your merits to get the Miracle.
I'd line the Numina up after that (just cause its a personal fav), and get after a KB protection when able after those, however (if you haven't already), as a nice to have. -
Quote:What level range is that one? The level 50 I did the other day as a villain locking in as villain was completely different. The villain morality mission is INCREDIBLY evil, like to a whole new level of evil, even beyond the Phipps stuff.
Basically you go in, threaten a guy (possible love interest of Overdrives from the dialogue) to have Overdrive turn up. You beat her down and ....
In short, a future you where you took over and destroyed everything comes back to help you 'correct' a mistake in your past master plan... hijinks ensue.
Quote:It makes me SO HAPPY how well-done the alignment stuff is. I mean, look at this thread, it's proof of greatness, right here.
Quote:The tip and alignment missions are incredibly well written. I was honestly surprised at the detail and intricacy of some of the arcs.
I agree completely. -
Quote:Agreed.Web of Arachnos is generally considered to be better, partly because Freedom Phalanx contradicts a bunch of stuff and makes a lot of the characters we all know and love act very differently than we have them in-game. Overall it's not a bad read at least once.
And Olantern did a great job summarizing them. -

Not color blind myself, but I support this thought. I have friends who are, and have had supervisors at work that are.
(That latter can be a hassle in a work environment that promotes red-yellow-green style status indicators for projects.) -
Quote:The problems loyalist players and Washington face is that the internal politics of the dictatroship leave you with only the one option given in the mission.
Marauder is very open about his contempt for the PPD, so if the PPD then go out are arrest his girlfriend for being a "Resistance spy", it just looks like a petty attempt at revenge, as they can't touch Marauder himself.
Normally, the standard Praetorian law enforcement procedure would be to arrest Cleo, have her tortured for information about the Resistance, and then imprison or execute her - but her reationship with Marauder, and his ties with Tyrant, makes the arrest and torture option a non-starter, so your only choice is to skip straight to the execution stage.
From a Praetorian law enforcement point of view, what you're doing is totally legal, and it's the internal faction politics that have forced your hand.
Spot on GG. Best post you've had in similar discussions, bar none. -
Quote:I think, that this would be the part of the story where the hero soldiers on, numbed by the shocking developments, but she's a trooper and keeps going and eventually...hopefully will find a way to see that what she is doing is right and proper.
And sadly, the Power arcs can go a ways towards reinforcing "What I am doing is right and helping the people of Praetoria." It is self aggrandizing but you don't have to do the self aggrandizing yourself. You're still genuinely helping people in Nova from a Loyalist perspective.
Well said, Divus.
