  1. Don't know about your ATO proc questions, sorry. But once you catalyze something it becomes account bound, so no you couldn't give it to a friend. Only able to give it to other toons on your account.

    Elec/WP Stalker

I've been working on a build for a zone pvp elec/wp stalker recently and this is what I've come up with based on looking at other builds and suggestions. I don't really have much experience with pvp so I might be missing something.

One thing I wanted to do with this build was cap the new stalkers HP cap, which I did. I tried to work in as much damage buff as I could but I still think it isn't great (22%). I also wanted to get my movement speed as high as I could, I'm not sure how much you need to get to the cap after DR kicks in but I'm hoping I got close. I wasn't really sure about lightning rod, I know it doesn't break hide so in theory it should be helpful, but I'm worried it might not be super practical in reality. Another thing I wasn't sure about was SoW+Burnout, since it's a zone stalker it's mostly going to be hit and run so I might not need those 2 powers. If I were to get rid of those 2 I would probably get CJ and SJ in replacement. I have no clue about what incarnates are good in pvp so some advice on that would be great.

Here's the build. Any input is welcome and appriciated. (Like I said, I'm no pro at this so there's probably a lot to improve upon.) Thanks in advance.

Actually, according to this paragonwiki page, brute has a lower melee damage modifier by a little bit. I'm no expert though so I could be reading this wrong or something.

  6. I'm a huge fan of controllers. I have 4 level 50 trollers and 2 50 dominators, all of which i play regularly. My main is also a controller (fire/kin). Originally I wanted him to farm but once I started playing him I realized how fun he is. He does really well on TFs and normal mishs since everyone likes kins, and the damage and even mezzes from fire is awesome. I know it's pretty much the farm cliche but that doesn't mean you should completely discard it as an option. Just giving you some ideas. /rad is another great way to go, and if you do you have to check out local man's ill/rad and earth/rad guides - they are a great help. Hope you find a combo that clicks and end up loving controllers as much as I and many others do.

Edit: I saw you wanted debuffs and buffs...kin has good buffs and even some good debuffs (-dmg, small -regen, etc.) but /rad and /cold are probably the best with debuffs, rad has AM which buffs you and your team and ice has the shields which just buff your teammates.
  7. It's nice that you want to return it but to be honest you probably won't find out who it belongs to. Whoever overspent learned their lesson and will most likely be more careful now. It's their fault that they lost their money and it's now rightfully yours. That being said, good luck finding who it belongs to. I know I would probably just keep it to myself

Fire Shield is certainly not a key power and could easily be dropped. It reduces the damage I take some, but it is not a big factor. I think it helps some mostly with AoE damage as long as the damage is Smash, Lethal or Fire. I do always run Fire Shield. A few times I have thought about trading it in for Rise of the Phoenix . . . but this character doesn't die all that often.

On Interface I went with Reactive, too. That Fire DoT is just too good . . . especially since I am using Spectral Wounds so often that it has a lot of chances to go off on single target attacks against tougher foes. I went with Pyronic on Judgment . . . It just seems to go nicely with Fireball.
Alright, I thought Fire Shield wasn't absolutely needed but wanted to make sure. And as for judgement, I was thinking either Ion or Pyronic. Thanks again for your input, I really appreciate you taking time to help
  9. First of all, just wanted to say thanks for writing this amazing guide (and your earth/rad one too, it also was a big help to my earth/rad). Without it I would have not made an Ill/Rad. My Ill/Rad is nearing 50 and I'm pretty much set on what I'm going to do as far as builds go. I've made a few modifications to your Perma-PA build to fit it to my needs (removed mutation and recall friend for maneuvers and tactics). My question is, how useful would you say your Fire Shield is? I really like the idea of tactics (maneuvers is set mule) but by running both tactics and fire shield I would run into end issues, so I am thinking of swapping fire shield out for something else like mutation. Is fire shield necessary to survive? I'm more of the type of player that tries to stay out of melee away from the fight (like you said you are in your guide). So I'm just wondering if you always run fire shield and do you absolutely need it if you wanted to solo a tough enemy like a AV or GM? And also do you have any recommendation for what to take for your Interface Slot? /Rad already has a ton of debuffs so I'm thinking I would go for Reactive: 25% res debuff and 75% Fire DoT to help pack some more damage. Sorry to ask so many questions but I really appreciate any input you have.

  11. Hey Local Man. First of all, thank you for the epic guide. My Earth/Rad just hit 50. I've finished his build, now all that's left is to buy the enhancements. I'm using something similar to your IO Set build with changes I made that added some stuff I wanted. I'm just wondering, what Incarnate powers would you recommend? For Alpha I'm thinking Musculature but not entirely sure. There is a lot of options so I'm sort of confused. I don't really want spiritual as I already have all the recharge I need. Also what do you think for the other Incarnate pools? Thanks in advance, you're guide has been so helpful.
  12. I can't log onto freedom either, and the server status page says it's down.

I mostly just did that because of the set bonuses and that this toon is mainly a regen focused build so I wanted to pack as much regen as possible.

I'll keep this in mind. I guess I'm just used too getting Hasten no matter what since I usually play controllers and scrappers.

I skipped Resurgence (Self-Rez) and Strength of Will (T9 Power). I skipped Resurgence because the whole point of this toon is to not die, and the only way to use that power is to die. It would be nice to have but I feel like I don't really need it. I skipped Strength of Will because I do not really like the T9 powers for tanks because of their crashes, SoW is a little better because its crash isn't bad, but I hate having to pop a power like that so I don't die.

Thanks for the help, it is greatly appreciated. It's always nice having your build looked at from another point of view.

    WP/DM Build

Hello! This is my willpower/dark melee tanks build. The only thing I really want with him is to not die. I'm willing to sacrifice some damage or something like that for more survivability. It would be mostly for PvE, like for AV's and such. I also run the ITF a lot so I want to be able to tank that too. I kind of went for defense over resistance in most cases but I'm not sure if that was smart or not since I've never made a tank build before, so correct me there if I'm wrong. This is meant for i19 so Mids is modded with inherent fitness and you can see how I slotted fitness at the bottom (I think you can still open it if your Mids isn't modded). It would be great if I could softcap my smash/lethal defense but I couldn't get it. Thanks in advance

Last few issues have been a couple missions and that's about it. Most of the new costumes and emotes we've gotten have been from booster packs. Now they have a pack that's $1 per emote.

I hate slippery slope arguments on principle, but what's next? A one-emote pack for 5 bucks? A pack that charges $1 per costume item? The next issue being delayed several months and being extraordinarily shallow and empty because they're stripping as much out of it as possible to make more boosters?

Where does it end? And if they're gonna start over-charging us for everything we used to get for free, can we at least go free-2-play so i can spend my sub money on the extras?
Well said, I agree fully with this. Please no more emote boosters, I think is pack is fine for those who want it but honestly $1/emote is ridiculous. Hopefully this was just a little bonus for people who wanted it and it won't become a usual thing for them to sell as a pack.
  17. OMG! Yay! Thank you devs, Im making my first praetorian toon right now!

Or if we can't do that at least make it so you can make the doorway smaller so it isnt so wide. I know we can change the vertical height of the floor and ceiling but I wish we could be able to squish the side walls closer together.
  19. I'm totally for both of these. Highlighting the badges we have in accolades would save me so much time.

    Map of the entire base.

You Warp into the base here, in a small room with a couch and TV. Almost like a Lounge.

You look around. You see a stairwell going down.

Behind you is a Balcony. You step out on it.

    Boom.
    You're in a Volcano.

Over here is our Dock sorta thing.
I never did quite get a design for a skiff I liked. When I find one, I'll put a bunch of them here.

Here is the inside of the Dock Tower.

This plot is empty as of now, but it will soon be the energt station.

Here is the Halfway completed Prison.

The less than halfway completed Office.

    And the empty Teleportation Chamber.
    Wow! That is really cool!
although one thing bothers me. I think it is a little to red. Lava to me is more of an orangy color. i dunno. Just my thoughts. Doin great though.

SO TRUE. I cannot tell you how many of my characters were inspired by some random thing I saw in a movie or game...
  22. Great work! Reminds me of what my drawings looked like at 11...except his is x10 better

Can't wait to see the updated pic!
  23. As a iPhone user, I would buy that in an instant. I don't care if they want to charge $20 for it. There has been soooo many times where I'm just sitting there (and i don't currently have access to a computer) thinking "ohhh I really wish I could work on that new toon's stume... =\ too bad there isn't an app."

Although I highly doubt this would ever make it...I mean it would be a pretty big app and it would be hard to find an interface that works with it. But I agree, WoW has an app (I think?) and if CoH made one (maybe not even to do with the costume creator, perhaps some sort of informational thing) it would help make money and even get the game out there. I bet it would bring in quite a few people. Just my 2 cents.
