My Graphical Base Item Request Thread

Yes, this is yet another list. But instead of posting a text list, I want to post images of the items I want.

First up...2nd floors to bases. One way to provide the option is this:

Double Doors...wouldn't they be awesome?

I like these ideas, especially if the idea for second stories allows for higher ceiling heights to get closer to having the feeling of an outdoor room. (But I have a feeling such could not happen without some massive base coding rework that would result in massive loss of all our bases. Though it's hard to say if it would or would not be worth it considering my own efforts for second stories and so forth nearly result in making other people's system crash when they try to visit.

But as another note, I would like the ability to make entrance rooms larger or smaller.
I mean, what says: awesome place more than a huge, grandiose entrance?

That was going to be my next graphic

Will probaby post it tomorrow.

And I really don't expect results...just wanting to have some fun doing the list. If it "happens" to inspire devs...that would be cool.

Larger Entries:

Would be nice to be able to place a storage bin in the entry as well...just one would make me happy.

Allow all base items to be placed in all rooms, even if they do not function.

For example, placing a Supercomputer in the Telepad room:

This would allow for some nice additions to tech bases. In the above example, the SG Computer doesn't even have to do more than light up...of course, my example is a very rough photoshop example. But imagine what we could do if the Room Bounding laws were dropped, for placement onle (not functionality).

Here's a great one, and it would help many:

Notice "Choose None" on the bottom right? That would make the glass transparent and remove the logo from items. A big plus.

I'm loving your ideas here. I wish the devs would show us base builders some love.

While I like the ideas, this particular one, if implemented wrong, could wreak all sorts of havoc on established bases. Would have to go about it carefully.

I'd love more thin, freeform tile floor options. Thin, with visible undersides, so you conserve vertical space and can form three (+) stories. Freeform, much like the current white 1/4 size tiles, so that you could adjust it to any height (... like adjustable shelving). Honestly, both the original poster's idea above -and- more tiles would be nice.

I'd photoshop an example but I'm far more the crayon and construction paper sort. The glitter sticks to the scanner and messes up other people's grown-up projects.

Don't have a graphic of it but... actual doors for doorway rooms. Or at least the ability to decorate them so they are not just big, obnoxious voids.

Or if we can't do that at least make it so you can make the doorway smaller so it isnt so wide. I know we can change the vertical height of the floor and ceiling but I wish we could be able to squish the side walls closer together.
