A good starting point would be the wiki: http://wiki.cohtitan.com
Points of interest: Primary Powersets, Secondary Powersets, Ancillary Power Pools and Patron Power Pools (each separated per-AT).
If you just want to see a comparison of straight numbers, then check out Mids' build planner: http://www.cohplanner.com/download.php -
This isn't a bug. You'll probably get more mileage out of the idea in the Suggestions forum here: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/forumdisplay.php?f=603

Small piece of additional advice: you may want to add "-maxinactivefps 1" (or some other low number) as a modifier to the game link to save your video card from melting down while attempting to render the game twice. You should be able to find a place to enter it by right-clicking the game from the launcher, if memory serves.

Riiiiight, I forgot about that caveat, and Electric Blasters don't have rain powers. It WOULD affect Electrical Manipulation's Lightning Field, though. Edited my post above to reflect that.

Super 8 was, no kidding, the best movie I've seen all year.
But I thought X-Men: First Class was crap, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
Also, Super 8 edged out Rango from the #1 spot, albeit by a wide margin.
... Yeah, my taste in movies sucks, doesn't it?

If you're going for ONLY PURPLES, your best bet is to run a -1/x8 farm map... but any regular IO set recipes that drop will only be level 49.
If you're going for most marketable farming, your best bet is to stick to +0/x8 (or whatever you can handle) for the level 50 set recipe drops. -
Quote:Yours should have been here. You're first stop should have been the ParagonWiki page.
Also, note that the ParagonWiki page doesn't say anything about how you know when the proc has affected the target. -
The enemy will get a golden glow around their torso. As for the actual effect of the Reactive -Resistance proc, each successful application (up to 4) gives a 2.5% debuff to boss and lower ranked enemies and a negligible one to EB/AV/Monster class enemies, meaning at best you'll be doing +10% damage.
Currently, the Interface procs are bugged so they'll only affect one enemy tagged in a rain or toggle-based AoE, but that has reportedly been fixed in the current patch version on the beta (not test) server. -
Well, the developers have already stated that the formula for total participation is Personal Participation + Group Achievement Bonus (how many objectives they complete). Time has never been mentioned as a metric, but I imagine that there is some minimum number of enemy defeats that must be achieved to reach the full group bonus.
The problem isn't with the participation system in this case; it's with the Lambda Trial, for allowing (and in attempting to get the side badges, even forcing) players to skip objectives in a "successful" run.
The award of 10 Threads for a speed run may even be intentional as a way to discourage farming for Incarnate Salvage, though I don't want to believe that's the case, as it crosses a line that has been pretty clearly drawn--being a better or faster player has NEVER been penalized before*, nor should it.
*Though in some cases, like with Reward Merits, players speedrunning content penalize everyone. But at least then, it's across the board, and not just the speedrunners.
I would say that, in Lambda's case at least, a larger Group Achievement Bonus should be awarded for the defeat of Marauder... but at the same time, you should know that you're hurting yourself in the long run by avoiding the chance at earning Astral Merits. -
Well... dammit. Sorry for the information fail.

FYI, Pentad is a lot easier than it sounds (unless they changed/fixed it)--just do a 1-on-1 fight set to Pentad with someone using the exact same archetype as your badge hunter.

For once, I'll actually be there. Woot!

Have you used tickets to buy the extra maps? It's been a while, but I don't think that one came as a freebie.

Quote:The "Rule of 5" means when you slot IO bonuses, any more than 5 that have the same name don't count. (As long as the bonuses have different names, they're fine.)Is there a thread or site that can provide info on stat caps and bonus caps? I just came back after some years and would like re build my toons. I keep hearing about the rule of 5 but im unclear as to what it exactly means. Thanks.
As for stat caps, it varies between archetypes, who also have different base stats as well. Resistance is highest for Tankers, healing and buffing is highest for Defenders, etc. They're all listed in the CoHTitan wiki--on the right of each AT, click "Limits (at 50)" to see the caps. -
Man, my boss dumps stuff on me at 11:50 all the damn time. Such is the life of the lowly tech nerd.

Just a side-thought, but I always try to put my game installations on a separate hard drive from the one Windows is installed on. This means the normal operations that get called on the OS drive will have less effect on your load times.
Of course, this isn't really an option if you're on a laptop, unless you have an eSATA port and a burning desire to run the game off an external hard drive.
And as was said previously, 2GB RAM should be enough to run the game smoothly, but it couldn't hurt anything to upgrade it if you have the means. -
If it's short green lines near the bottom bar, then it's good. If it's tall green lines, or any color besides green, then it's bad.
It'll also give you a numerical representation of your ping to the CoH servers (the number of milliseconds it takes to send a command to the server and get a reply). The lower number, the better. I know mine is generally in the 100-150 range, but I must admit that I don't know the threshhold between smooth gaming and bumpy, hiccup-y gaming. -
I'd guess lag if thing are hiccupping or rubberbanding a lot.
Have you tried using /netgraph to check your latency while these experiences are going on? -
Not really. If you're in a position of power and you give favoritism to a select few, then those few will do just about anything for you because you're making their lives easier. This includes keeping the masses uneducated and powerless.
Peasants couldn't read--that was the clergy's job. The peasants also couldn't own any real weaponry, as buying that much steel for any luxury item (outside of standard farm equipment) was outside the means of most in the lower classes. And, all the hatred that welled up within the peasant class was generally directed at whomever their government was currently P.O.ed at, i.e., "It's THEIR fault that you have to work so hard for so little!"
Actually, that last one still works surprisingly well in this day and age.
Note that I'm actually fully agreeing that this was a horrible way to rule and live, GG, but the people in the system couldn't do anything at the time... But when they were able to, they did so with bloody vengeance (see Marie Antoinette). It just wasn't until later, when things like the printing press made mass education possible, and the diversification of labor allowed access to better and cheaper weapons on par with those used by those in power that something that makes so much sense to a person with modern sensibilities could become a reality for the impoverished masses.
End threadjack. -
Super Reflexes is only good if you don't get hit. If anything DOES hit you, you're crazy squishy.
Shield is a better set overall if you're just going on performance alone, as Syntax42 mentioned. It's not that much more difficult than /SR to softcap, and it can significantly boost your damage output while still giving you several places to put LotG Global Recharge global recharge enhancements and a respectable amount of resistance to Smash/Lethal damage (which pairs nicely with Tough from the fighting pool) and a significant amount of resistance to everything but Psy damage and +Max HP in the T9 power, One With the Shield.
EDIT: I forgot to mention True Grit--an AUTO resistance power that protects against most damage types and gives bonus Max HP.
Remember, SR's high defense is only good if you're lucky--if the RNG hates you, then all your time is spent in the dirt... but if you've got resistance, it doesn't matter how much the RNG hates you.
(Personally, I'd go with Willpower or Shield unless a concept specifically requires SR.)
