  1. ... Okay, those do look pretty kickass...
  2. Where are you getting this info from?

The Momentum thing makes sense, based on the Massively article from yesterday (which also stated that the two handed set would not be released in time for i21).

Is "Titan Weapons" the name of the set, or is it subset of weapon options? I will be disappointed if it's not the highly sought after pole weapon set, as I'm sure many others will be.

    Lifetime Sub?

IF they offered a lifetime subscription, I would guess it to cost about $250-300.

I would expect it to give full access to all VIP content, 400 free Paragon Points a month, plus automatic access to any content from the Paragon Points store that was not consumable. (Consumables should still cost extra.) --OR-- full access to all VIP content and a larger than 400 free Paragon Points per month stipend; I'm thinking 1200 minimum.

All Paragon Reward program benefits should be automatically unlocked as well.

    -----
And yes, I would buy a lifetime subscription for my primary account (but probably not for my secondary account).
  4. Man... I don't usually do farming, but you guys are actually making it sound like fun.

That sounds like people would make free accounts for fake spamming just for the chance to log in their REAL accounts and get free PVP IOs.

But I like the OP's idea of having them get visually modsmacked in front of an audience. I think it'd stand a good chance of scaring some would-be griefers and trolls into good behavior.

I'm inclined to believe this is true. Perks are purchaseable, badges are not.

I'm not personally upset about this either way, and I don't see why you would be either, Beef. I do feel bad for one friend who I'd really like to see up at the top of the badge list who happened to join the game 9 months in... but if the badges stop at 84 months, eventually everyone who's serious about badging will get there.
  9. Let me rephrase:
    • We DO KNOW that you can buy Veteran PERKS with Paragon Reward Tokens.
    • We DON'T KNOW if you can buy Veteran BADGES via any means.

Edit: Even the link you gave there doesn't say whether the badges will be purchaseable via Paragon Rewards. It just says they'll still be "around and attainable." That may mean you continue to get one for every 3 months as a VIP. It might mean you can buy them individually. They might un-number them, slap a big "PR" logo on them and have each badge go alongside a specific perk. We just don't know right now.

Not necessarily... Anyone can purchase the Vet Reward benefits using Paragon Reward Tokens, but there's no mention of the badges themselves. They might just continue to award every 3 months as a generic VIP perk.

All we know for sure is that you can't buy Veteran Badges (or any other badge) with Paragon Points.

(Personally, I hope the badges run up to 99 months and then stop, but that's just me.)

It's a matter of currencies. Beef keeps saying that you'll be able to purchase Vet Rewards with Paragon Points, which is incorrect, but...

You will be able to accumulate Vet Rewards--or at the very least, something very similar--using Paragon Reward Tokens. You will automatically get some number per month with subscription, can gain more as a bonus for purchasing Paragon Points.

A: We are replacing the Veteran Rewards with the Paragon Rewards program, a rewards program superior in every way with Veteran Rewards, to add new rewards, features, and choices. The Paragon Reward program unlocks new exclusive rewards on top of the existing Veteran Rewards. All subscribers keep their Veteran Rewards and badges, even if they choose to play for free. We will have more information to share about that in the coming months.

Q: What is the difference between a Reward Token and a Paragon Point?

A: Reward Tokens can be redeemed to unlock free in-game benefits. They are earned as part of your monthly VIP player subscription or as a bonus for purchasing Paragon Points. Paragon Points can be used to purchase items through the new in-game Paragon Market.

Q: Are there any incentives to maintaining my subscription or reactivating my subscription before City of Heroes Freedom launches?
A: Current subscribers and former subscribers that reactivate their accounts earn 400 Paragon Points per month beginning July 1, 2011. Any active subscriber also earns Reward Tokens in our new Paragon Rewards program.

Q: What additional content will VIP players get?

A: A VIP player will enjoy the same benefits as a current City of Heroes subscriber and much more!
In addition to the regular Issue content updates, VIP players will receive new monthly Signature Story Arcs as well as full access to Incarnate Trials and Going Rogue expansion content. VIP players have high priority status in any server queues, access to live in-game support, and one free server transfer per month. VIP players also receive 400 Paragon Points each month and earn exclusive rewards in the Paragon Rewards program.
I've pulled out anything directly referencing the Veteran Rewards and new Paragon Rewards Program from the official announcement.

Yeah, my girlfriend bought them in January. Before she was my girlfriend, even.

  13. Flargh! Over $1100 in plane tickets and hotel costs later, my girlfriend and I are definitely going to be there.

East coast to west coast travel is friggin' expensive, but only a cold, calculating murderbot could keep me away this year.
  14. If I were limited to two, it'd be the two in my signature--my very first hero and villain.

But that won't be the case, as I've purchased enough bonus slots on Victory that (as of right now) I wouldn't have to give up many--if any--characters if I were to drop to Premium.

There's been some confusion between the Paragon Points and the Paragon Reward Tokens (effectively, Veteran Reward Tokens)--players are using them in conversation as if they were the same thing. I think the latter are going to be somewhat retroactive, not the Paragon Points which you use in the store.

I could, of course, be wrong. We're all going off our own interpretations of pretty meager info on this subject.
  18. Keep in mind, when i21 hits, the booster packs are all being split up into individual pieces--you won't be able to just click the "pay $10" button, you'll have to buy them piece by piece from the Paragon Points store. (Though you will get 400 points a month to spend on whatever you like, just for keeping your subscription active.)

That said, I have ALL the current boosters, but my favorites are the Magic, Martial Arts and Mutant packs, in that exact order.

And you get an option to spend your Paragon Reward Tokens on exactly what you want to use them on, whereas the vets who came before you all got shoehorned into what the developers wanted us to have. You're getting the better end of the deal here whether you see it or not.

As Veterans, we've already spent those Paragon Reward Tokens; we just didn't have the options you will.

It also appears you'll be able to effectively buy a 7-year vet status on a day one account, if you want to fork out the cash for it. Hell, I'm starting to feel like the one who's being penalized!

Well, the boosters are all being split up into individual pieces, with the monthly "free" 400 points you get able to buy "a lot of costume pieces" or "about one Super Booster power."

You'll probably be able to pick up the whole of the Wedding Pack (since there are no powers) and probably a couple Party Pack emotes off of just one month's points.

The point remains, you get to choose what you want. If you want just the Wedding Tux and the Air Guitar emote and don't care about what's in the rest of the packs, then you'll have plenty of points leftover to spend elsewhere.

Well, BaBs did say before he left the company that they were beginning work on a poleweapon powerset. It's nice to know that we'll probably have it within the next year.

I'm hoping they make the animations broad enough to work with multiple weapon types, including scythes and poleaxes.
  22. They announced it yesterday and said that more information on what is purchaseable would be coming in a few weeks. So... no.

The VERY short list of what we know to be purchaseable as of now:
    • Glowing "Energy" Wings
    • Flame Trail Aura
    • Consumable Enhancement Remover (so you don't have to use a respec to take enhancements out of powers)
    • Consumable XP Doubler
    • Anything that is currently in a booster pack or Super Booster.

Veteran Rewards and similar global bonuses will be purchaseable via Paragon Reward Merits in a separate store from the Paragon Points store that sells the above.

As in one themed for Time Manipulation? Not that we've heard about, but there are at least two new player costume sets coming in Issue 21: IDF and Defense.

Edit: Upon further reflection, I realized you were talking about a POWER set. I was confused because your previous post was talking about how we never get free costume sets anymore, but we totally are.

I reinstalled 11.5 right before bed, but I'm guessing I'm going to have 11.4 back on there by the end of tonight.

At least I had the foresight to create a directory to house every iteration of the ATI drivers I've used since my last rebuild, so I don't have to go webcrawling for them...
