Quote:Heck no... my Stalker was at over 400 Pillboxes when the change went live, but only like 20-some Heavies. The reason is, again, that Pillboxes count for everyone on your team, while Heavies only count for you.As Necrotech_Master implied I sure more people whined about needing too many pillboxes than too many Heavies. Heavies only seem "too many" now because it's the larger of the two requirements - there was a time when Heavies seemed like the "reasonable" one of the two.
I only know where one Villain Heavy is off the top of my head (near the train station), and it's always gone. -
Dear Paragon Studios,
ლ(ಠ益ಠლ) Y U NO TAKE MY MONEY AND GIVE THIS NAO?!
Out. Of. The. Park. Truly fantastic. -
Huh. I'd just get myself droned or offer "free kill" in broadcast.
Here's a question, though: Why did the Heavy badges not get "fixed" so the last badge was 100 captures like the Pillbox badges (which were already team-wide anyway) in Black Scorpion's big badge reduction of i15? -
I hadn't had much chance to play over the last few weeks, but I played this weekend, and I was randomly locking up every 45-60 minutes.
Going back to 11.5 for the time being.
Saist, I know you say that they can't fix the problem if we don't tell them about it... but what exactly should I be telling them here? -

Unfortunately, there's nothing the devs can do about this. This was an order handed down from their parent company, NCSoft--all NCSoft published games must use the same launcher.
Posting any issues you are having with it, including reproduceable steps and the Hijack This! and CoH Helper logs of your computer, will enable people to assist you in getting everything working together and happy.
As for this bit...Quote:... you can go into the File->Settings menu and tell it to automatically shut off after the game has launched. You can also right-click on the different game installations and create shortcuts to directly launch that game, meaning once you get set up you never really have to put your hands on the launcher at all if you so choose.I don't like that it runs all the time in the background -
Well, I'll concede that point to you; no, you do not get any sort of confirmation when you purchase something from Christy or Michael. But IS the Certificate/Voucher system being used for store purchases? All I know is that they're being tied to the Paragon Rewards program.
Also, Astral and Empyrean Merits are an entirely in-game currency, with no relation to real money, whereas Paragon Points do directly tie in to money... This is confusing.
Anyway, rather than ranting on this way, why not PM one of the community reps and ask for clarification? Like I said, I'm assuming that it will email you a receipt... but I'd feel better if that assumption were confirmed by a redname. -

Hrm... Try repairing or reinstalling your Microsoft .NET installation?
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/arc...8/8904493.aspx
Make sure you run the NCSoft launcher as an Administrator, as well... especially if you're using the default installation directory for CoH. -
Quote:Well, currently, you're sent an email whenever you add a Booster to your account. Did they specifically say that you would not get an email receipt upon purchasing items through the store?Besides, being greyed out doesn't tell me WHEN it was purchased, only that it WAS purchased.
Quote:You have successfully applied the following serial code to NCsoft Master Account: (EDITED)
Date : Jul 26 2011
Game : City of Heroes City of Villains
Account: (EDITED)
Serial : XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX (EDITED--full code was shown)
Type : Perk
Save this e-mail for your reference. You may need to provide the serial code to a customer service representative to obtain customer support.
We look forward to seeing YOU in the game!
The NCsoft Team
I don't understand why you'd get an automated email for that, but not one saying "Thank you for purchasing 5x XP Boosters and 2x Enhancement Unslotters!" once CoH Freedom goes live... -
Quote:So... you're fine when rewards are tied to badges... but you get mad when badges are tied to rewards...?No my issue is not the rewards, have a great time with them. It is the badges being rewarded with the pr program. Eveything I have read has appeared to apply badges to rewards. I do hope i am wrong though.
It's six in one hand, a half-dozen in the other.
It's like that Taco Bell commercial from last year where they were doing a combo with a taco, nachos and a drink, and the dude kept asking the staff, "So I buy the taco and the drink, and I get the nachos for free?" and he gets replied with "I thought it was buying the taco and the nachos and getting the drink for free..." and virtually every permutation, down to the manager who said, "Just give me the $2 and it's all free."
You're getting the same rewards and the same badges at a faster rate. Actually, you're getting a few extra of both rewards AND badges. I really can't see what there is to be sore about here. -
What Memphis_Bill said, and extra emphasis on the "Ugh."
-
The Paragon Rewards program IS the Veteran Rewards program. It's just becoming token based and allowing you choices, instead of forcing you to take specific rewards at specific times.
If your complaint is that they're now offering the equivalent of one Vet Reward for every month (instead of every three months) or per $15 spent in the store, then I don't know what to say. Tough?

Congratulations Zombie Man!!!
I've still got Green Stuff and Loves a Challenge to grab to get there. I'll catch up to you as soon as I can.
I didn't have too many problems with the Ouroboros badges, but I can see where that'd be a hang-up. And don't get me started on Day Jobs... (I still say that's the #1 worst addition made to the game.)

Quote:I like hanging onto Elude (with just the base slot) for two reasons: it's very handy on Incarnate trials and the enemies are all higher level with To-Hit bonuses, and it's a great source of +Recovery if you've just been tagged by an errant Sapper blast or whatever the soldiers in the trials use to drain your endurance. For now try out some new slotting, hopefully with at least softcapped Melee & Ranged - and then you might feel less need to keep Elude at that point.
-----
Quote:Freeing both Elude and Conserve Power would let you get Aid Self, or dip into the Leadership pool.
I tried it for a while when working on the Healing badges, but then found out about the existence of Heal Farms and respecced out of Medicine with a quickness. -
Quote:This was a response to the question:CoH - Use it to continue making City of Heroes the best super heroic MMO on the market, for our players.
And with that, part 1 of Freedom Friday is done! We'll be taking a break until 1pm PDT (9pm BST). If you have more questions, or if your question didn't get answered, check back for part 2! Thanks all!
"What are you going to do with that huge wave of money that comes in when the market goes live?" -
You can use a prepaid Visa card anywhere that a Visa card would be accepted; there's no reason it shouldn't work.
You might want to try PayPal instead, though. You can connect it directly to your bank account or debit card if you like.
Using PayPal on the NCSoft store also doesn't force a 24 hour wait between booster pack purchases, should you wish to buy more than one. -
Quote:That's what Elude and Destiny Barrier are there for... takin' down destructibles in Lambda.I didn't post anything, but I did make a quick build or two to see what I could do, one of which did use DA in it to get over 60% melee to help with incarnate content >.<
Quote:On an unrelated note, did you get MoSTF with "us" or was it with some other group? I don't remember :/ I know you had multiple issues getting it, and we couldn't seem to make time to get together and do it. -
Oh, and I did some tweaks of my own to Caulderone's suggestion--I moved the slots with the +7.5% Run Speeds to Health and 5-slotted Miracle, moved the Numina unique to Physical Perfection and swapped Conserve Power for Maneuvers. It's now softcapped across the board.

Okay, after looking at those builds, I realize that mine is a total piece of ****. Looks like I'll be making use of those purchaseable enhancement trays to swap some stuff around in a few months.
Not that I don't appreciate the builds everyone took the time to put together, especially since you all made sure that I still had access to all the powers I'm used to (with greater performance in many cases), but I'm really partial to that first build Iggy posted and the one that Caulderone did.
I also gotta say, I REALLY appreciate no one trying to cram Divine Avalanche into the build. I hate that power with a passion.
(And I may still be able to drop Conserve Power at the end for the new Afterburner Flight power in i21!) -
Your avatar is a jerk. <-- for anyone seeing this at a later date and after an avatar swap, his image is just a text image that says "The song 'The Final Countdown' is now playing in your head."
Other than that, things look solid, if bordering a little on too powerful (especially the regen debuff on Shuriken... really, on a -Regen Debuff on a T1 attack?)
Also, about Body Mastery's Conserve Power: it's basically the reason that Energy Aura Scrappers will get Energize. If you take that out of the pool, there won't be any need to change the power, and there goes \EA's click heal. I'm extremely glad you didn't suggest any serious change to Energy Torrent, though... it's my favorite opening attack.
And don't forget: the secondary effect of Fire powers is MOAR DAMAGE. It's natural for Pyre Mastery to outdamage the other sets. -
Oh, and just so you don't think I'm a total idiot, here's my alt-build:

I just don't have any fun playing it, so I haven't finished slotting it yet. -
Quote:I'll bite, but it's not gonna be pretty.I think you should post your build, and just set some rules like "X power is non-negotiable". I have supreme faith that this sub-forum will get you softcapped, tonnes of recharge and let you keep a good chunk of your concept powers.
It's also easier to say which powers ARE negotiable... basically, Combat Jumping and Conserve Power. I suppose I could swap out the latter for Maneuvers if I were truly inclined...

Wow, and I'm worse off than I thought... only 33.2% to Melee/Ranged.
And if you think that's bad... remember I didn't have Evasion or Lucky until Issue 19. -
