A single target buff/heal has always done the trick for me. The targetted AOE buffs generally only bring the targetted pet back under your control... at least, that's what I've read from other players on these boards.
If your secondary is anything but Trick Arrow or Dark, you should have a single target buff or heal available by level 4. -
Just like Agg and 37 said, file a support ticket in game and it'll be fixed by the following morning at the latest.
My last Vet Reward didn't award correctly in August--even 6 days later than it should have been awarded. Once I realized I was due for a reward, I filed a support ticket, logged for the night, and had the badge awarded when I logged in the next morning. -
I know how you feel, Net. I did a Katie Hannon TF this weekend, and felt a little pang of sadness when it popped up "Badge Earned!" I do kinda miss the days when I could just decide to go out and spend a few hours earning a badge, instead of staying logged out or farming.

I've enjoyed virtually everything done to this game on some level (save for Day Jobs... blech!)...
And this, I have to say, is the best QOL feature that has ever been or will likely ever be added to the game.
Enemies on the minimap FTW! -
Quote:And that's supposed to be a good idea WHY?I think you misunderstand the suggestion. There's no stat to track, there's no "lost progress" from said stat not being previously tracked, and there's nothing market-centric.
What Fulmens is suggesting is that you walk up to an NPC, give him millions of Inf, which he summarily destroys, and he gives you a badge back. Think along the lines of the badge you get by spending tickets in the MA.
1000 MA tickets can be earned in an hour of standard play and far less time by farming, and is achievable by virtually anyone from level 1-50. 1 million inf can likewise be earned in about an hour of standard play, far less time by farming, and is heavily weighted towards those at or near the level cap. Again, I'd have no problems with a badge that required me to throw 1 million inf down the crapper, because I could make all that money back (and then some) running an ITF. Anything more would be a waste of time AND resources that not everyone has available.
Believe it or not, there are those of us who don't look at the market as a way to make bajillions of inf. I see it as a way to deliver resources that I have access to to other players, people who are playing a game in their spare time just like me, that they couldn't otherwise get themselves. I'm probably a wetdream for salvage flippers, since I drop just about every piece of common and uncommon salvage on the market for 1 inf. And if I get a much sought after rare recipe that I can't use on one of my characters, then I'm far more likely to give it to a friend who wants it than to put it on the market.
I'm not sure exactly what you're hoping to achieve by having dozens of people just throw away 2 billion inf for a badge. Is this a roundabout way of trying to get prices lowered in the market (if there's less money available, prices will have to drop)? If that's your goal, I'm sure there's better ways to achieve it. -
I don't like the idea of "gear," visible or not.
Champions Online has invisible gear, and the system is clunky and hard to understand so I couldn't really get into it. Maybe it's second nature to a WoW player, but I couldn't really get into that game either.
I like the generic idea of enhancements. It works well for what CoX does, and allows everyone to think of them somewhat differently.
As others have posted before me, if you want guantlets that do fire damage, put guantlets on your costume and roleplay it. -
The inf badges no longer go up to the cap (2 billion), but are now finished with 500 million.
I, for one, wouldn't mind paying a million inf for a badge, or even as much as 10 million, but anything beyond that tick me off the way that 10,000 test enemy kills did in the MA when Issue 14 came out.
I don't like playing the market for inf, and I don't like farming; I certainly don't like the idea of losing 2 billion inf. -
Different nerd circles, I guess. I've never heard the Cramps' music before. (Though I have seen the image Bill posted randomly on the web before... one tends to remember a bikini made of sequins.)

Quote:I argued against chicks in bikinis, not against female pets. How do I need to phrase it exactly? I AM FOR FEMALE PETS AS LONG AS THEY WEAR CLOTHES. Better? Let me know if I need to spell it out even more.Well, thank you for not denying that you're against it, as you proceed to quite clearly argue against it. Your honesty is refreshing.
And I'm assuming that link was to an Avenue Q song, without even clicking it. Seen it live, good stuff. -
Try running in Safe Mode (there's a checkbox on the launcher) to see if that will at least let you see what's going on.
Regardless, you may need to either install the latest drivers for your video card, or reinstall a known working set of drivers.
I know that I sometimes get black screen issues when running two accounts at once on my system, but that's after I'm already in the game, and is related to whether or not the "bloom" video option is turned on... I doubt that's your problem if you can't even log in. -
I'm not against female pets for Masterminds in the least. But I am against scantily clad ones.
I'd like to see female mercs in full uniform and female thugs wearing standard street gear like the boys. Female ninjas covered head to toe like the current Genin? Sure! Perhaps even a female zombie (though I'd really prefer she be more dressed than the current male ones... in fact, they could really use more than the shorty-shorts they're wearing now) would be okay.
But bikini girls with guns? I don't even think the OP would do anything but stand around trying to pimp them out for inf. Sorry dude, you're just not coming across like the sort of mature individual who could handle an army of bikini women responsibly.
Edit: I will say though, we totally need the villainous swiveling egg chair as a base item. -
The event usually runs for 10 days I believe, starting on a Friday at 12:01 AM and ending the following Monday with server maintenance. We're probably looking at Friday, Oct 23rd for a start date and having it run through Monday, November 2nd.

I'm glad someone who can word this idea better than I can came up with it as well.
Although to throw my 2 inf in the hat here, when I was working on a similar idea, I suggested tying the typed damage to specific weapon models. There would be an ice sword that does a combo of lethal and ice damage, a fire sword that does lethal and fire, a wooden sword that only does smashing damage... then later in the game, the unlockable Rularuu blades would do lethal + negative damage, and the Vanguard weapons would do lethal + energy.
This would probably allow for exploiting in some form or another unless the secondary damage was minor beyond any reason to exist... "Oh, man, this guy is heavily resistant to energy damage, so I'm going to switch to a costume with a fire sword instead." -
I just made a Freakshow-esque Electric Brute the other night. Of course the name "Statix" was taken, as was "Statikz," and several other permutations that I tried.
But rather than going the l33t route, I just chose a different name.
So far, I'm really loving how much fun it is to smash people's faces in with the name "Snap Crackle PUNCH!" -
Quote:I'm unfortunately going to guess no, since the art didn't show up on Badge-Hunter.com. Someone posted the art for all the Halloween badges to be released with this event (included in the Issue 16 publish), and there were no new graphics for the costume collection badges. Not to be rude, but it's a simple yes or no.
Do the costume badges from a few years ago finally have the right badge art?
That's not to say that they couldn't show up in a patch between now and the start of the event, but they weren't in there when Issue 16 launched. -
Hellfrosts are also pretty common in Sharkshead Island around the graveyard island on the west side of the map. Alternatively, there's also the Hordeling Lashers in Cap au Diable, in the mountainous area outside the PTS (I believe to across the north and northeast?).
250 kills of either (or both mixed) will score you the Coldhearted badge. Incidentally, there's also a gladiator badge for 100 Hordelings and the Weedwhacker defeat badge for 50 Hellfrosts/Succubi to be earned from this escapade, if you decide to pursue further badging. -
If you're running Win XP, pop in the operating system disc and boot to it. It'll give you a blue screen that tells you it's loading drivers, config files, etc etc.
When it finally gives you a prompt, hit "R" to go to the Recovery Console.
If asked which Windows installation you're attempting to recover, hit 1.
Type "CHKDSK /R" and it will attempt to repair your hard drive. I've found this to be particularly effective if you get into a situation where one of your Windows files becomes corrupted, as it will likely be able to repair the file.
This relatively quick fix (30-60 min, can be left unmanned when started) has worked more times for me than not when I've been in similar situations on Windows XP. I don't have enough experience with Vista or Windows 7 to know if this will be equally effective, but it probably can't hurt to try it either. -
Quote:I'm a huge fan of this idea.If the issue is the cheaping of the "Master of" attempts, perhaps devs should add an additional difficulty setting called "Master of X" for the TF's that can grant said badge that directly takes the team to certain difficulty settings and option requirements overriding anything else. If that worked for the whole team no matter what, would also be good in case team leader gets temporarily disconnected during the TF.

Each mission was only intended to have a maximum of three ambushes (which counts defendable objects) shortly after Issue 14 launched, but for some reason that code didn't apply to defendable objects the way it was supposed to. The devs DID announce that you weren't supposed to be able to have more than 3 of both together, though.
As for ticket caps per map, it's my understanding that the ticket cap is per mission, and sits at 1500 tickets (unless that was changed with Issue 16). -
At least I'm not the only one this happened to. I was starting to panic a bit. ¬_¬;
Came up with a new character concept this morning, rushed home from work, deleted an old character... POOF! there went my slot.
As long as it comes back when the store/authentication/whatever server is made available again, I won't complain, but I am a bit bummed out. -
Does this mean more shinies all around?
-
My guess is that it was related to the change in the way difficulty settings worked. Since you could set it as if you were a team of 8 even solo, I'm betting something got FUBARed in the drop code that made it always think you were on a team of 8 regardless of your actual settings, thus giving you 1/8 the drops as the other 7/8 were tossed out by nonexistant teammates. A team of 2 would have had 6/8 of the drops not show up, a team of 3 would have 5/8 disappear, and so on.
A full team of 8 would probably not have noticed anything out of the ordinary, which is why many people were reporting that they were earning full rewards on Task Forces.
Anyway, like I said... that's my hunch. -
Silversword:
First off, nice MissingNo. avatar.
Second, to take screenshots of the tailor UI, hit the "Print Screen" button as normal, then Alt+Tab to MS Paint and select "Paste." (You might want to open MS Paint before starting CoH, just for ease of use.) -
That's a really great story, Sig! I love moments like that in this game.
((Man... I've been here for over 5 years now, and I still can't Tank or Blast. >_>; )) -
I'm for anything that puts more customization options in the users' hands. Go smack Granite around, BABs!
(I'm also for the set buff/Granite debuff that Castle mentioned in the other thread, as long as you guys take your time and get it right, even if that means waiting until after Going Rogue.)
