Quote:I vote Option 1 with this caveat as well. Also, please bring back the old "Metallic" tights, and keep the new ones under a new name such as "Mirrored" or "Polished."I think the only 'rule' I'd advise is with the metal costume options. A 'matte' and 'shiny' sub-option for them would be good, because not all metal is shiny.
My main villain runs around the Isles in a tank top. It'd be very nice for it to have the stitching detail that you mentioned earlier, David. And while we're on the subject, what are the odds of us getting a teeshirt that isn't glued directly to the torso? -

I played my Elec/Kin through Praetoria exclusively solo. I relied heavily on my Vet attacks (and NPC allies) for damage, but the mixture of hard and soft control is fabulous.
It's not going to be a "plow through an entire map of +4/x8 in 15 minutes" character no matter what you do, but an Elec/Kin is a lot of fun to play and will be welcome on any team you'd like to join. -
Partly I was looking at the fact that Soul Mastery has three AoE attacks instead of just Fissure in Stone Mastery (although it does lack Earth's Embrace)... But Dread is right, the recharges are quite long--unenhanced, the recharge times are 6 min on Dark Consumption, 4 min on Soul Drain and, as has already been noted, 32 seconds on Dark Obliteration (up 12 from Fissure's 20 seconds). Plus, you can slot an LotG recharge in Stone's armor power.
Anyway, I came to the conclusion that this is what Dual Builds are for. I'll do Fire/Kin/Stone on one and Fire/Kin/Soul on the other and just play with whatever I feel like at the time. I'm only planning to use common/cheap IOs anyway. -

That oughta do it for you. -
I know that, prior to Going Rogue, Earth Mastery was king of the farm build APPs given its access to Fissure and Earth's Embrace.
However, Soul Mastery now comes along with the addition of Soul Drain and its sweet delicious damage bonus, as well as an equivalent ranged AoE attack to Fissure in Dark Obliteration and Dark Consumption's PBAoE Damage/+End ability (not that the latter is necessary if you're farming using a /Kin, but whatever).
What are the current opinions on the best farmtroller epic power pool? -
Heroes and Vigilantes can be in an SG together. Villains and Rogues can be in a VG together.
Villains and Rogues can not join SGs. Heroes and Vigilantes can not join VGs.
If you're in an SG/VG and you change sides, you're not removed from the SG/VG, but you can't access the base or enter SG mode to earn Prestige. -
I take it you've never seen the Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny?

While everything Don said was true, a lot of people with farming characters (like a Fire/Kin Controller or an Elec/Fire Brute) like to put a ton of damage procs into their damage toggles. They increase the potential damage above the maximum that can be reached through simply slotting damage enhancements, and they tend to be slotted for bonus accuracy and have other ways to compensate for the increased endurance drain (Transference and Consume, for example).
I'm not saying they're right or wrong to slot as such, but it's a pretty popular way to slot up a farm build and when it works, it works well.
Additionally, they allow you more flexible damage output types; if you're playing a Katana/SR Scrapper like mine and all your attacks do lethal damage, and you're fighting... well, anything that's not a Carnie once you've hit level 50, you welcome the occassional spike of Dark damage that comes from your Hecatomb proc. -
I recently went through and did all these badges on my main villain. It wasn't nearly the pain I remembered it being when I got the same badges on my hero back in Issue 9 and cost far, far less inf.
That said, they're still not "fun," but the time-consuming nature of these badges is what keeps everyone from having them, even though everyone has an equal opportunity to earn them.
Personally, I'd limit the number of enhancements that one needs to craft per memorization badge to be no more than the 10 enhancements a single character can hold at a time and call it fix't.
The total invention badges, on the other hand, could benefit from being further reduced or made global. Pretty much nobody is going to craft 2000 items in the course of standard gameplay unless they've been nominated their SG's official crafter or something. -
Quote:Yes and no. They tend to work very well together, actually, depending on what exactly you want to enhance.Enhancements: Back when, Hami-O's were #1, Are Invention Enhancements #1 Now
Quote:Set Bonus: I think I just figured this one out actually. Are these from having a hole same group of those Invention Enhancements? And are they always a set of 6?
Additionally, only one of each enhancement from a set can be slotted into a single power, so you can not slot 6 Accuracy/Damage IOs over and over again.
Quote:Shields: Do you get more choices for defeats like you do with swords?
Quote:Side Kick/Exemplar: Does this really work at all like it used to? As in with this Auto thing. Mostly wondering if it is still possible to get the SK/Exemplar badges?
And yes, the team leader will still earn sidekicking badges.
Quote:Enhancements: With a lvl 50 enhancement slotted and your doing a lvl 30ish missions (and your lvl is lowered down to that) is there any benefit to your powers whatsoever.
FYI, I almost never get hit when exemplaring my Katana/SR Scrapper or Stalker, despite not having the set bonuses.
Quote:For CoP: People often mention to bring , Chivans, Nukes, Heavies, etc. What are these and where do they come from. I'm assuming that they are something that you can summon. I haven't been able to have much luck finding anything on the wiki for them I'm probably just not looking them up right.
Nukes are available in the Warburg PVP zone. To earn them, go into the tunnels below the city and find a scientist held hostage by monsters. Once you have freed him/her, you will be asked to lead him/her back to their lab; doing so earns you a piece of a missile launch code. Once you have 3 pieces, you can choose one of the three launch computers in the underground tunnels (Nuclear, Biological and Chemical) and take the final key to the surface to launch the missile. Doing so earns you one of the three nuke types as a single-use temporary power, with Bio and Chem being highly favored for raid encounters as they will either buff all players in your vicinity (Bio) or debuff every enemy (Chem). The straight nuke is a massive AoE damage power that can be handy, but is rarely requested on raids.
There are two types of Heavies. One is earnable by participating in the Rikti Mothership raid in the Rikti War Zone or some other means of collecting Vanguard Merits (level 35+ only) and trading in 250 for the temporary power at one of the reward stations in the base. The other is the Recluse's Victory Heavy, which is earnable through participating in the PVP zone event; this tends to require a lot of PVP action, so if that's not your cup of tea, then stick with the RWZ variety.

I don't think it's possible for Villains to get Passport, either. Didn't they shut down the US->EU server transfers before City of Villains was released?

I've been working on it by having a friend of mine start an Atlas mayhem on his alt account, then entering the mission and dropping the team on my level 50. Suddenly I'm a level 50 rampaging through level 7s in Atlas! (It's great for earning badge credit, and also if you ever felt like re-enacting a hurricane while playing CoH... zoooom, SMASH! KER-POW!!!)
Additionally, I've gotten several tip missions redside that have featured Paragon Police as the primary enemy type. Off the top of my head, I know there was one where I smashed through a Portal Corp. lab and another where I activated a Rikti artifact, but I'm pretty sure there was at least one more... -
Quote:That does say currently. That either means that it's a known bug, there's a mechanic that they can't get working correctly (likely unlocking the EAT based on your moral choices rather than starting AT), or else there's a plan to create a different reward for Praetorians.Note: Level 20 characters that started as Praetorians do not currently unlock Epic Archetypes, though in-game messaging might suggest otherwise. Only characters created as a Hero or as a Villain will count.
Honestly, Zombie, I've never known you to be such an alarmist. Until there's a developer statement regarding the topic, there's no reason to go about using your caps lock like that. -
An Elec/Nin Stalker should be able to solo EBs. My Kat/SR Stalker has never had too much of an issue doing so, and he's not even close to softcapped outside of Elude. Keep a stack of Shivans and some red insps on hand in case you hit a wall and you'll be just fine.
As for the "low" Defense Debuff Resistance, keep in mind that having high DDR is what makes Super Reflexes special in a world of min/maxing and IOs. I can't think of any other sets off-hand that Stalkers have access to with greater than 34% DDR.
As for fairing against +2/x8 size mobs, you can probably do it but it will likely be slow going. Stalkers aren't really equipped to farm, although I imagine Elec/Nin would be the best build you could attempt it with. (My Kat/SR goes at +2/x2 for most of the time when solo, just to keep the pace up with enough challenge to still be fun.) Stalkers are better equipped for quick burst damage than sustained DPS, so you'll likely find yourself resting a lot between battles if you try. -
And... which "mechanism" would that be, exactly?
-
Quote:You are incorrect. It was changed to separate toggles (against the developers' wishes) because players found a bug that allowed you to install all three types of special ammo through creative use of the click power and Walk. The toggles ended up being the only way they could make each of the ammo types 100% mutually exclusive.Eventually, there was enough player outcry that the devs switched to the current system (take Swap Ammo and you get the 3 separate toggles). In doing so, the entire reason why the set didn't have Aim (Swap Ammo did something and was taking up that slot) was removed.
But hey, nice try. -
Quote:I'd rather see a Gun Blade Assault powerset--a pistol in one hand and a katana in the other.I still think Dominators need a "natural" set way more than Blasters. Gun-fu anyone? A mix of Dual Pistols and Martial Arts fit into an Assault model?
Then again, you can't really complain about the lack of natural secondary powers on an AT that has no natural primary powers... -
Yes, they announced in-game that they were bringing the servers down briefly for maintenance.

Extremely happy with the graphics for what little time I've had in game tonight. Thanks again for giving us the info, Ocho!!!

One-handed Katana attacks, so we can use more of the awesome friggin' swords that keep getting added for Broadsword and Dual Blades.
---
And while I'm at it, I'll add the suggestion again to give the Broadsword weapon models to the Battle Axe users and vice versa. The attack animations are virtually the same anyway, and it's kind of silly that Tankers and Brutes still don't have any sword options to go with their Shields. -
