My main characters both fight in street clothes... one in a grey teeshirt, blue jeans and sneakers, the other in a black tank top, cargo pants and boots. >_>
Of course, my hero just added "-Man" to the end of his real name to create his superhero persona, and he's not at all concerned with keeping his powers a secret. -
Quote:First off, from the brief accidental leak on the test server prior to Going Rogue's launch, I'm pretty sure all of the attacks were pretty magical in nature. Lightning, dark and fire were all that I recall, but there was probably an ice attack as well. (I was bummed that there didn't seem to be a straight energy attack, but I guess my Scrapper will make due with either lightning or fire...)I'm curious about the Justice slot and it's associated upgradable AoE power(s). More just how they'll work. Not all of us have characters that fit throwing around big energy blasts and stuff. Natural/unpowered characters, or weapon users, etc... doesn't really fit the theme for my golden age knife-nut adventurer to suddenly whip out an energy blast. I'm hoping there will be effects or animations that feel powerful, yet fit someone who isn't all blasty.
The thought that comes to mind is like throwing a storm of shurikens or something.
But, to focus on one part of your post in particular: "Natural/unpowered characters, or weapon users, etc... doesn't really fit the theme for my golden age knife-nut adventurer to suddenly whip out an energy blast" doesn't really apply. You're no longer unpowered--you're an Incarnate now, and you're able to do crazy things ala Statesman's overpowered lightning crashes. -
I recently had three badges unregistered on Badge-Hunter.com: Socialite (Accolade), Gallant (Achievement) and Resolute (Veteran). I didn't even notice when they'd been removed, so I had to pour over my badge listings to figure out which ones weren't showing up properly this weekend.
These were the badges that suffered duplicate naming issues, but were all renamed in a patch a couple weeks ago. -
Quote:In the GR beta, I think it was granted at the end of the TF. You could also get drops of common "Incarnate Shard" salvage, which could be turned into the uncommon salvage that the Boosts were crafted out of. This common salvage would supposedly drop for anyone with their Alpha Slot unlocked at random when doing any level 50 content.I think you can get it from any level 50 mobs, but those TFs will give you a guaranteed bit of salvage. Not sure if that salvage can drop anywhere, or just in those TFs (or how much salvage type, other than rarity, matters).
I just saw another thread where GG was saying that it took 3 pieces of uncommon Incarnate salvage to create a common Boost, and 4 pieces of common Incarnate salvage to create a piece of uncommon Incarnate salvage... but I honestly don't remember the numbers that well from the second-hand reports I read 4 months ago. -
My Scrapper can fire the Stalker lasers for you, maybe?
Nevermind, I just saw that you were requesting no additional melee... -
I hope one of the Incarnate slots finally gives us those visual sounds they promised us a couple years ago.

Quote:Not true. Doing the arc in Ouroboros effectively turns it into a task force, and everybody gets the souveniers (and the next contact unlocked) by completing them.Oro would in effect cheat the other 7 from the credit, despite they "did" all the work and frankly deserve such credit!
I've run the contact that introduces you to Katie through Ouroboros. I wasn't the team leader, and that's the only time I ran said arc. I can now start a Katie Hannon TF any time I want. -
Quote:Pretty sure you heard wrong and/or it was in another game. I pour over every bit of 'Con and Meet & Greet info I can find, and I've never heard any info from someone at one of these events (much less a red name) saying anything about a graphics update. I do recall that, at a recent convention, one of the devs said that they'd like to see mitten hands replaced with working fingers, but that it wasn't a priority and that it would require way too much effort to fit into the current planned timeline.Unless I heard wrong and it was another game, I think it was told in the New York Comic Con one.
And given that WE JUST HAD A GRAPHICS UPDATE IN APRIL, I don't see them doing another one for a few years, much less in Spring 2011. -

My $10. Paragon haz it.

Healix can't Haiku.
In Haiku, syllables must
go "five, seven, five." -

Saist's not always wrong. He's not in this case, either. He makes a valid point that likely fits well with his favored playstyle and experience with the game.
He IS giving out his personal preferences as if it were undisputed fact, but that's just the way some people are. Especially people on the internet. (You can't tell me you haven't seen a dozen people who talk that way on every forum you've ever visited?)
And come on, there are worse ways to slot Choking Cloud than as a mule for the Basilisk's Gaze set. -
This. I'm eagerly awaiting Issue 19 for Inherent Stamina so I can more effectively use Choking Cloud on my Fire/Rad Controller--I originally slotted him all wrong, but was too lazy to respec him. I generally play him in near-melee, so I can heal the teammates that are taking the brunt of the pounding (like my poor imps) and, of course, use Cinders effectively.
I'm also working on strategies for my DP/Rad Corruptor that will involve Choking Cloud, once I'm able to get some decent enhancements in there (like the Lockdown +2). I play DP as a mid-range powerset, since I can't resist firing off Executioner's Shot every chance I get...
To the OP, I would have to say it all depends on what you want to do with it. If you're thinking of keeping it around as an "Oh $#!@" button, it probably won't do much for you. But if you want to throw some slots and an IO set or two in there, it can be extremely effective. -

Under Kheldians, it should say "Nothing, because the devs hate you."
I kid. -
I'd say a Gravity/Force Field Controller or a Gravity/Energy Assault Dominator would best fit a Lantern-esque character. I'm leaning towards the latter.
Take Propel either way.
If you absolutely hate Gravity, then you could probably make things work using appropriately colored Electricity, Ice, Fire or Earth... -
Who knows? Maybe you'll love it, maybe you'll hate it. Just give it a shot--you can't ask someone else to give your opinion to you.

Shield Charge spawns a pseudo pet, which is what causes the damage to the enemies. It is set to ignore buffs... including Fury.
I'm personally more interested to see if it does the same amount of damage unenhanced as enhanced, now that I've researched it a bit... -
So... should we change the name of the badge "Hammer Down" as well?

The Scorpion Shield at the very least has a glowing sigil that appears on your character every few seconds, and I believe it also gives you a slight glowing aura not unlike those you see in the Invulnerability powerset.
