I've read a couple post on it and it seems the general consensus is to farm the same MI's and wait for them to summon their pets. I waited a good ten minutes for a couple of them to summon their pets and they never summoned them. Is there a general time frame or anything on these summons? Eventually I just killed them without trying. Any help or other tactics appreciated.

I'm sure you know, but under the theory of Better Safe Than Sorry, you need to make sure that they're Master Illusionists, and not merely Illusionists.

They should summon 1x Dark Servant, 1x Phantasm, 1x Decoy Phantasm, and 3x Illusionists.

Personally, I've haven't had them resummon their pets since around I9 or I10...

Since they lowered the requirement for the badge, and made all pets count (except Decoy, since you can't damage it), it's probably easier to just keep running Carnie Radio missions to get the badge.

I can't remember when the last time it was I ran such a farm, but it was before the new requirements and certainly after i10. I want to say it was even within the last year. They should still re-summon. I don't see why they wouldn't. If anything, I've seen them summon more pets at once these days instead of waiting a minute to summon the next type of pet.

That's odd. The MI should recast those baddies on a timer unless you have her seriously debuffed. What are you badging with?

I found a pair of Master Illusionists outdoors in Peregrine a couple months ago, and annoyed them while I had a damage aura on... they kept flying up to me and spawning their pets in my aura, and then flying off out of it... I just waited for their summon powers to recharge and kept it up until I got the badge. So I can say that I have seen their summon powers work recently.

I'm using my illusion/cold controller who is now a villain. I just cast phantom army on the MI and dismiss two of the phantom army so I won't kill the MI too quick. Last night the MI summoned one dark servant... Then about 5 minutes later summoned another dark servant... This bage is gonna take a ton of patience I guess.

im not sure what the problem was but i died and came back to the same mission and they just started summoning like crazy... it did seem to be on a timer after it lined itself out.

ive got the badge now, thx for the help.

I did not know this change took place. Jeez, this makes the badge a breeze now.

I believe it happened in Issue 15 or 16, so it's only been about a year.

In ourboros, in lvl 40-45 range, I think it is the first mission arc, call Lost Souls are something. Its a carnie mish, I usually run that for badge and usually always get 2+ master ill's in it.

Last night, I tested this on one Master Ill in an isolated park in PI. Needed 38 for the badges and farmed her for a bit over 40 minutes to complete the requirements. Her casts seemed to be on about a 5 minute timer. Remember, any damage to each illusion, phantom or dark servant before they vanish will give defeat credit for the badge.
