This. I do not HAVE a Facebook account - anymore. I deliberately deleted it. And I do not WANT a Facebook account - if I did, I wouldn't have deleted the darn thing.

    You have forums. Use them.

McDonalds was sued because the woman who ordered it got 3rd degree burns over her lower torso and upper thighs. I actually wound up looking at the case, and it's not as stupid as it sounded.

On the other hand, "pain and suffering" from a game expansion being late may get you a suggestion to seek help for your addiction, but it won't get you any money.
  3. Regarding "why everything on Tuesday":

The City Scoop tried moving from posting on Friday afternoons (when people were not reading the boards as much) to Monday afternoons (when everyone came back from the weekend). We were asked to delay it until Tuesdays, instead, because Mondays are slammed full of weekly planning meetings, what-broke-over-the-weekend meetings, getting caught up from the weekend, and all the other crap that happens in a tech office on Mondays.

As a hint, I don't know anyone in a tech office who isn't at least somewhat slammed on Mondays - except for the brief period of time when my husband worked Sunday - Thursday instead. That was a nice, calm period.

Tuesdays are better, simply because there's less fires.
  4. Normally, the mods will simply lock a thread if it's inappropriate and post why. Closed beta "leaks" (intentional or otherwise) are different. There's an implied-accepted NDA (you don't specifically agree to it, but the notice says "if you play, you agree to this" - so by being on the server, it's implied that you've accepted the NDA). As a result, any posts giving information about stuff in CB are removed pretty unilaterally, since that's a breach (intentional or otherwise) of the NDA, and some leaks have been known to cause severe problems.

I just wish they could do something to forestall all the random "can't get in" "can't update" "upload is taking forever" (but I got the email!!!!) posts. Some form of that might mitigate the accidental leaks (nothing's going to stop the intentional ones.)

    mmmmk

Sorry if I seem a bit irritated at that. Nice to know in the future when I spend time writing feedback.
Please notice that this is the OPEN training room forum.

If you were posting about i17 issues, you should have done so in the CLOSED BETA forum.

The reason the thread got deleted had nothing to do with if you were supposed to see the content or not and EVERYTHING to do with where you posted it.

Feedback goes into the CLOSED BETA feedback boards as long as i17 is in CLOSED BETA.

Please remember that there are 29 more days available to April than just the first, all of which would be considered to be "in April".

Get back to us if DS isn't out by May 2.

    What server economies?

All US servers use the same blue-side house and same red-side house, regardless of server - so if you put something for sale on Freedom, someone from Triumph can buy it.

    Same for the EU servers.

    So there's a US/EU divide, and in both areas, a red/blue divide.

The individual servers don't have their own separate economies.

    Lost SG

If it *is* that the cousin kicked everyone out and quit (or he invited someone new in, and they did it), then there is no way to get your SG back. It's gone for good.

In theory, you get 6 tokens. When you use one, it's renewed 7 days (most probably 168 hours) later.

If you used all of yours late on Sunday last week, they wouldn't have been renewed until late Sunday this week.

If they didn't get renewed at all.. well, that's why I said "in theory."

    That is the theory.

However, the one for Chris Bruce (BABs) was never answered, and it took a really long time for the one before that.

I have my doubts on the likelihood of this one getting answered, either. I really don't see why they bother doing this particular thing; it's not like most of the devs don't interact with us regularly anyway, and these get ignored for the longest time while other events are going on.

why can I simply go to the AE buidling and but it from there? gowever I cannot
We have answered this for you before. Pay attention this time, and I will use small words.

Mentoring is done by having other people on the team with you while you are team leader. You must be in supergroup mode. After 5 hours total of this, you will get the supercomputer unlocked.

AE does not count for badges. It never has. It will not work.

You must play regular missions WITH OTHER PEOPLE, with you as the leader while you are in supergroup mode. For five hours.

    Honestly, it's not that hard.

Oh, I'm sure that timezone conversion is a problem, and DST (which I agree with you on) is probably not helping. I'm just saying that aside from any timezone conversion issues they might have had this time, there was a pretty definite typo.

Given that the time given for Pacific and GMT were the same (in the original announcement), I suspect someone typod.
  19. Well, actually, it wasn't a bug - they cleared the record of "purchased" slots.

You don't actually have to delete anything, just "purchase" and apply slots until you've got a space to create again.

The test server will not charge anything, thus why purchase is in quotes. It'll give you all the warnings, but will NOT charge.

Well, no, actually.. Epic in this case refers to the storyline's nature. That's all, really. The fact that they require a little more thought in power picks and slotting is not what makes them epic. Their damage and playstyle certainly don't.

And I keep seeing "experience" as a reason to not give them at 20... sorry to say it, but what experience these days? When it's entirely possible to - even relatively easy to - get your character to level 50 in less than 2 months, experience just doesn't seem like a qualifier to me.

Click on the floor of the area that's depressed so that the blue square is there. Go to "place room" (the button that gets you the room tabs). One of your miscellaneous windows will have a level-by-level picture of that square in it (otherwise, it'll have the lighting info in it, if that's what you were playing with). there are three levels of ceiling, three levels of floor, and a VERY LARGE block in between. Experiment with clicking in that window, and you'll figure out how to rectify the situation. Note that, with some exceptions, you can't move the ceiling or floor around if there's something touching it (or with a very close border).

I was very tempted to get the Supercomputer but so far I have resisted the temptation.
The supercomputer is a good mid-range investment, when you have extra prestige lying around, because you can run an entire base on just it (unless you have a lot of defense items). or it and a database or two. Good to keep in mind if you decide you need more teleporters.

Do I need the Basic Workbench for anything other than making teleporters?

    $40 Complete Edition (not pre-purchasable)

See, the thing is.. would you be playing that month already, even if they haven't given to you?

If so, then why are you complaining about that?

Why does it even enter into the calculations?

I understand some people have really tight finances, and being able to not spend a month of subscription fee helps make up the difference in cost on the pack. I'd like to point out, however, that saving up to pre-pay a year at a time almost entirely purchases the pack out of the savings difference.

But beyond that... I honestly don't see why a "free month" is all that great a concern.

    Quote:
They're looking to seriously cash in on the pre-purchasable perk of early powerset access. It's kinda disgusting.
    Preorder + item pack = $40.
    Complete pack (digital) = $40

There's no cashing in there. When you look at the straight up digital releases, it's pretty equivalent - the main difference is that some of the money comes earlier, and thus can go earlier into development.

When you look at the physical copy of the complete pack (also $40)... they're losing money on it (when compared to the digital copy). Assuming a lean 10% margin for the retailer, that's $36 to NCSoft. Take out $15 for the lost subscription month, and there's $21. Figure each of those boxes is going to cost $6 to produce & distribute, and there's a grand total of $15 going into NCSoft's pocket. If you assume the more standard 25% margin for the retailer, that drops the money going into NCSofts pocket down to $9.

ETA: I saw someone above mention that game retailers get about 40% markup. I don't know if that's true or not, but look at it this way: That's $16 to the retailer, $6 for the boxes, and $15 for the lost subscription. NC Soft is now getting a grand total of $3 per box.

Now, somebody's likely to bring up "well, they get loads of money at $15 a month from subscriptions"... don't go there. There's at least five of us who'll explain the cost of overhead in detail. That gets boring.

** Note here: Yeah, I have every sympathy with the people who want "click once and be done." I also have sympathy for the non-NA people who aren't getting the option of a retail box.
