It's been like that for long time. You can delete them for opening all items of room and delete there.

Show room items -> sell one by one.

Well maybe I had too hasty to send my first message 
edit. my toughts translation: You can delete them for 'opening' (clicking) 'all items of room' ('show room items' -named button) and 'delete' (sell) there.

I never noticed that before becuase I was usuly emptying the room so I was always in the show room items tab...
are the MRI charts also buged like this?

The items are ordered according to when you placed them, from first to last (latest items placed will be at the end of the list). Click on an item, and it should highlight in the room (this becomes important if you have multiples of a certain item, like desks). Click on the "sell" button for that item, and it should delete (& refund your prestige).

I so rarely clear out a room, I'm almost always in the "place item" tab.
