  1. I feel so liberated on my Bot/FF mastermind because I don't have to constantly swap between firing attacks and putting shields on my teammates. Since my bots are doing damage, I'm free to keep their health topped off and keep shields on my fellow players and my pets.

I'd say it is easier to keep bubbles up on everyone as a mastermind than as a defender or controller.

The old days of having to cast it on all pets, was really tedious. It is so much better now!
  3. I put the AH debuff proc on my Fire/Rad troller, and it fires enough to make a noticeable difference. I'd go with that one if you have a proc slot you are looking to drop into the power.

If I decide to go ahead and take my new baby fire/rad corrupter to 50, I'll slot AH on her Radiation Infection as well.
  4. I'm definitely going to take provoke on my bot/ff gal once i19 hits. Will probably add Repair for a 2nd bot heal, and not sure what to take on the third. Maybe Repulsion Bomb?
  5. If you put up the Personal Force Field power, the small bubble you put up around yourself to make yourself very very hard to hit, you lose control of the bots. That was your problem.

You can't run PFF all the time. It is best used as an emergency self preservation power or to protect yourself when traveling through tough zones.
  6. Since the pets are resummoned every time you zone, I'm guessing there's something wonky with the code that assigns the names to the specific pets when that event occurs.
  7. Don't forget the new Chill Mastery for MMs. The Ice Shield has some great defense to add to the mix and also takes the steadfast unique res/def IO.

I was able to get great defense on the cheap since bots/ff doesn't really need recharge. I soft capped s/l and ranged defense plus high aoe defense without slotting protector bots with defense enhancers. I took aid other/aid self and focused on adding +hp and +regen bonuses with IO sets.

Play around with combat jumping, leadership pool, and some creative IO bonuses and you'll be surprised how easy it is to build a solid bot/ff mastermind.
  8. I use a stealth IO in a prestige sprint and super speed on my Traps/AR defender to get full invis for sneaking into mobs and dropping poison gas trap. Works like a charm! Give it a try if you are having issues with alpha strikes. You can also use seeker drones to absorb the alpha and dash in to the group to drop poison gas trap.
  9. The best advice I got from the boards was to take Fire Cages and Hot Feet as soon as they are available and slot both for maximum end reduction. Made getting to 20 a breeze.
  10. I think I'm getting this just to start my mastermind's Robot Dance troop!
  11. Still getting crits on ice blast. Anyone else?
  12. What were the power sets on the team? Just curious. Sounds like it would have been a ton of fun!
  13. Back in ye olden days weren't there a few petless masterminds only taking primary attacks and secondaries?

I started playing my bots/ff again and took her blue side with GR, and can't imagine not taking all the pets. They are for all intent and purpose my hit point pool and my source of damage.
  14. Also, Ice Blast occasionally crits just like a scrapper attack.

Just noticed this on the Training Room board http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=236248

    Powers

    Masterminds
Chill Mastery – Fixed a bug which prevented you from taking additional powers in the set if you took Ice Blast as your first power.
Heat Mastery/Char - Corrected IO sets allowed. Now accepts Ranged Damage and Holds.
  15. Chill Mastery powers don't seem to be unlocking correctly. Are any of the other new APP sets encountering this problem?

  17. My bot/ff MM is named Technopath Alpha, so she's just a sweet little mutant gal with a penchant for making machinery to her bidding.
  18. Came here to see if this was just me or a common issue. My globals were all down before my second attempt/crash.
  19. I can't say enough about how wonderful my Traps/Ar defender is to play now that she's full IO'd. Capped or nearly capped defense to every damage type and capped, 75%, to s/l. She's a joy to play and brings the hurt solo and on teams. She's my go to gal for any TF or mission.
  20. Give Traps a try too. You buff and debuff with your toys, so you are defending the team without having to actively click on teammates. Very strong and very fun. Love mine.
  21. In this mobile media craze, I'm really surprised NCSoft hasn't done more to tap that market.

I just posted in another thread that, for lack of a better word, a WW app would be fantastic and would give them another marketing opportunity for their other games, the ncstore, etc.

It would be fantastic to check on WW sales and place bids.

Heck it would be sweet to be able to look at badge progression, check your SG stats, etc. There's a lot of CoH features that just scream for mobile access.

And who wouldn't love a mobile version of Mids or the ability to log into chat channels?
  22. We just finally got iphones last month, and I'd kill for a CoH app. Even just one that let you check on WWs would be great to have. I think there's a WoW market house app, right?

At least you can view and post on the forums from the iphone. That's at least something.

    Elec / Elec?

My Elec/Elec is up to 37 now I think. (I got distracted by my Traps/AR Defender)

Once you get power sink and lightning field, it becomes glorious. Between unlimited end, and being able to sap spawns in regular PvE, there isn't much that gives her trouble.

On the other hand, I did an ITF run, and granted, she wasn't level 50 and had no IOs, but all the Negative Energy damage in the final Rommie fight wiped her out quickly and repeatedly. Like ridiculously quickly and ridiculously often.

I'm anxious to get her to 50 and get her template IO'd out, and see how she does on it then.

But again, for regular PvE leveling, elec/elec is wonderfully fun and really effective.

As for early leveling, I didn't find elec/elec to be any harder on endurance usage than other low level tanks I've played. Elec/Elec tank running the Synapse TF is a wonderful thing with all the energy damage that you easily shrug off.

1.5 more levels on the Traps Defender, and I'll be back in Elec/Elec land again. Can't wait!

edit: You can slot the sleep IO 'Chance to Heal' proc into some of your melee attacks. I have two of them on her now and they rock!
  24. I'll have Sleet for a ranged knock down that has debuffs and an Achilles proc in it. I've played Ice control before and found Ice Slick to be lacking in the late game with all powers on a team that can negate it like knock back and other controls.
  25. I'm skipping Ice Slick on my Ice/Cold gal for the reasons listed in the thread.
