  1. Auto-Draft FTW! Honest, my Commissionership had nothing to do with the fact that I scored the #1 pick (Chris Johnson, duh).

Karma got its revenge by dealing me Jay Cutler as a backup QB. He has since been banished to the wavier wire, so if anyone's desperate they can have a crack at him on Friday. Arian Foster and Michael Bush have also been sent packing already by other teams -- I think they're both worthy pickups depending what other RB's you have!

Hope everyone got at least one or two things they wanted for their starters. Should be a good week 1!

And here's my hot tip for the week: T.J. Houshmandzadeh was just dealt to the Ravens from Seattle! Bawlmore made room for him by washing their hands of Mark Clayton. Housh will most likely be #3 on the depth chart behind Q and Mason, but his stock just went way up by going to the Ravens. If you have a BAL WR (like the aging Mason), you might want to snag Housh for a great injury replacement.

    Good story arcs

A long-time fan-favorite is the Freaklympics arc given by Marvin Weintraub (Talos Island) or Collin Larson (Independence Port), lvl 25-29 heroside.

Full arc info (with spoilers) here: http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Marvin...cs_.2825-29.29
  3. n33d m04r p14y3rz!!!!

Looking for another NFL fan or two for more competition! Would like to do a live draft this coming Sunday night if peeps can get together.

Hollabackatcherboy, PM me on the forums, reply to this thread, or send me a tell ingame.

Opening Kickoff is one week from today as the defending champion Saints host Favre's Vikes in Nawlins!
  4. You've already learned that in the Rogue Isles ("redside"), your villain's missions will usually be in the same zone as the contact who gives them.

In Paragon City ("blueside"), your hero is sent all over the place. This exploration tactic was abandoned for City of Villains , apparently since an overwhelming majority of players weren't fans of the runaround.

Zones like the Hollows and Perez Park (later you'll find others) are Hazard Zones; their entrances are marked with a red circle on your map instead of the green marker used for regular city zones. Hazard zones were not built for a solo player to romp around in; they're geared towards teams, thus the larger groups of enemies.

You can, however, be thankful that you have the watered down version of The Hollows that exists now instead of the uber-dangerous version it was upon its creation. You can read more about it at http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/The_Hollows
  5. Right on, Ouroboros (and Pocket D teleporter, if not Pocket D entirely) should be avoided if you're in the middle of an alignment change holding Tip missions.

But I'm still hung up on this part:
    Quote:
The same holds true for the Vanguard portholes going into the RWZ. Should you try and come back out, it will give you opposite zones.
To me, that claims if you enter RWZ from redside as a Vigilante holding redside tips, when you exit RWZ back to redside you'll lose the tips. Is that right or am I mis-reading?

I don't think co-op zones should act that way, but maybe it's WAI.
  6. Quote:
Hero and Vigilante should ALWAYS get the blue Ouroboros.
Villain and Rogue should ALWAYS get the red Ouroboros.
This is regardless of where you are or where you have een when you use the portal.

As for losing your tips, this is also intended behavior. If you are a "blue" character doing tips on the red side, but you travel back to the blue Ouroboros, you will lose those tips.
That's how I understand it too.
I didn't realize the same problem happened in Pocket D and RWZ though.
  7. I <3 my Fire/ Brute very much, good attack chain.

The Brute option (IMO) opens the door to more possibilities. While Scrappers are merely The Diet Coke of Damage, Brutes can serve the same designation and/or "tank" fairly well with many secondaries.

/e waits for aggro'd Scrapperlocked players to attack
  8. I might not have been offended, but I can see where others might be. Especially on a forum where you can hardly ever tell the "tone" of the message.

I have the same problems installing on Vista.

If you haven't already mastered that Vista task... To Install as Administrator, right-click the executable file or shortcut and choose "Run as Adminsitrator". Should install it normally.

If not, maybe check your version of the Microsoft .Net framework thing?

  11. At first I thought "Neat, another helpful toggle bind thing."

But... c'mon, is it REALLY that difficult to make another keystroke?

Of course the answer is "yes"
  12. Same thing here, was holding onto it for giggles but it's gone.

  13. Sounds like the timing may be skewed somewhere, not the first I've heard of it.

I'd be more worried about what the wife is doing!

Sounds like a server transfer's in order, you can avoid Freedumb altogether and move your toon to get more breathing room.

I've never noticed the server list acting in any way other than what was described. Has always been "last server used" on top, then "most populated" from the bottom up for me. Maybe something resets if you get disconnected and/or a server's full?
  16. I would struggle without Stamina for my Ice/Ice Dom but that's with Arctic Air and Leadership toggles. If I switched to IO sets (get that Recharge rate up for PermaDom!) though I'm sure I could get away from it.

    Nemesis Staff

From the wiki (http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Nemesis_Staff), says it could be from Neal Kendrick or Tina Chung, 30-34, but definitely "Find out who's supplying the Freakshow with the new weapons" mission.

For some reason I'm skeptical about earning such temp powers via Ouroboros Flashbacks... but I can't find anything to confirm nor deny that.
  18. There's a new sheriff in town, NFL fans!

I have assumed Commissioner duties from everyone's favorite Jimmy for Pinnacle Fantasy Football 2010 (PFF'10), once again hosted by Yahoo! Fantasy Sports. While we'll all sadly miss his participation this year, RL always comes first (thus my own omission last year).

Also, as the 2008 champion, I am excited to get back into the competition with the elite team "Drama Phase" ready to once again rise in the rankings!

But before the trash talking can truly begin, we need to fill the league. I'm hoping to get 12 players signed up!! Will go with 10 (or *gasp* 8) if we need to, but I know there are enough tailgating-savvy gridiron fans on this server to fill it.

Please send me a private message on the forums or in-game (@Mr.Catastrophe) with your email address so I can send you a league invite. I'll sporadically spam the global channels and will be hunting down prior years' players as well.

There WILL be prizes this year! We've had temporary titles in the past... and I plan on adding some phat loot to the mix! I'd like to do weekly prizes as well as big prize packages for the top finishers of PFF'10.

For those of you who are fantasy football veterans, this is a PPR (Point Per Reception) league, adding value to possession receivers and slot guys. The draft will be set to Auto: you can arrange the player list to your preferences prior to Draft Day to give you a better chance to get the players YOU want. Then the trading mayhem will begin!

If you're a novice fantasy player, you still have the chance to do well. This is a FREE league to join; no worries about some fantasy hotshot taking all of your money! You just need a Yahoo account to join. It's a great way to interact with some Pinnaclers you may not know very well and it's a really great way to have even more fun during the NFL season, making you pay attention to players and teams you may have never followed closely otherwise.

I hope to see you all on the Smack Talk board soon... let the tailgating begin!

/e goes to roll a 7th Sonic Resonance toon to level up
  20. Keep in mind that you're not missing anything too exciting by not being in a supergroup just yet.

While some have amazingly fancy bases, they're not used nearly as much as many of us had once hoped. Their primary function seems to be transportability to different zones. With only 3 zones in Praetoria, you should do OK until you ding 20 and enter Paragon City or the Rogue Isles.
  21. Mr_Right kind of mentioned that a lot of players are disappointed when they finally try a Peacebringer or Warshade. Veteran blue siders usually can't emphasize that enough.
My dissatisfaction with them isn't "disappointment" per se, more of a "OK now what?" when trying to level and/or slot one up. So many choices! I've always thought that they do a lot of things "well", but nothing "great".

The Kheld-specific arcs are fun though, a nice change of pace.

If you truly are a selfish player, the PB's & WS's certainly give you a little bit of everything... damage, survivability, heals, pets, inherent travel power... you shouldn't be able to complain of boredom. Good luck!
  22. You might also find it helpful that longer-term buffs like Force Field and Sonic Resonance shields (and others I'm sure) CAN be stacked from the same caster if you switch zones between casting.

i.e., I'll buff the team before we enter the mish, and when the mish starts, buff again for stacked goodness.
  23. Quanity wise, I agree that Freedumb & ((Virtue)) would be the best bets for TF's, Flashback teams, mission/storyarc teams, and AE lovers/farmers based on larger server populations.

Quality wise though I'm guessing every server has global channels like my beloved Pinnacle's "PinnBadges" and "Cozmic's Playground" which help form good teams for any PvE action.

    Global channels FTW.
