Guess who's back!
If we have room in the league I can re-join and take over commissioning duties. It's just clicking a few buttons to set a draft date, right? We've done auto-draft in the past I believe.
Hollaback. Did the usual suspects participate last year??

@Mr.Catastrophe
I'm sure there's plenty of room, no one else has said they're coming back yet. I'll have to look at the league page on Yahoo to figure out how to transfer it. Send me your info.

I'd love to try it this year, seeing as how I'll have dedicated internet and HDTV. Plus, not going underway again is AWESOME!

Soooooo, anyone want the commissionership? ;-p

No responses while I was in the hospital? No worries. If anyone wants the commissionership, just hit me up either with a PM or in game. Y'all know where to find me. :-)

There's a new sheriff in town, NFL fans!
I have assumed Commissioner duties from everyone's favorite Jimmy for Pinnacle Fantasy Football 2010 (PFF'10), once again hosted by Yahoo! Fantasy Sports. While we'll all sadly miss his participation this year, RL always comes first (thus my own omission last year).
Also, as the 2008 champion, I am excited to get back into the competition with the elite team "Drama Phase" ready to once again rise in the rankings!
But before the trash talking can truly begin, we need to fill the league. I'm hoping to get 12 players signed up!! Will go with 10 (or *gasp* 8) if we need to, but I know there are enough tailgating-savvy gridiron fans on this server to fill it.
Please send me a private message on the forums or in-game (@Mr.Catastrophe) with your email address so I can send you a league invite. I'll sporadically spam the global channels and will be hunting down prior years' players as well.
There WILL be prizes this year! We've had temporary titles in the past... and I plan on adding some phat loot to the mix! I'd like to do weekly prizes as well as big prize packages for the top finishers of PFF'10.
For those of you who are fantasy football veterans, this is a PPR (Point Per Reception) league, adding value to possession receivers and slot guys. The draft will be set to Auto: you can arrange the player list to your preferences prior to Draft Day to give you a better chance to get the players YOU want. Then the trading mayhem will begin!
If you're a novice fantasy player, you still have the chance to do well. This is a FREE league to join; no worries about some fantasy hotshot taking all of your money! You just need a Yahoo account to join. It's a great way to interact with some Pinnaclers you may not know very well and it's a really great way to have even more fun during the NFL season, making you pay attention to players and teams you may have never followed closely otherwise.
I hope to see you all on the Smack Talk board soon... let the tailgating begin!

I'm down, whats the buy in? Influence wise. and ill shoot you my email address to send the invite.
Auto-Draft FTW! Honest, my Commissionership had nothing to do with the fact that I scored the #1 pick (Chris Johnson, duh).
Karma got its revenge by dealing me Jay Cutler as a backup QB. He has since been banished to the wavier wire, so if anyone's desperate they can have a crack at him on Friday. Arian Foster and Michael Bush have also been sent packing already by other teams -- I think they're both worthy pickups depending what other RB's you have!
Hope everyone got at least one or two things they wanted for their starters. Should be a good week 1!
And here's my hot tip for the week: T.J. Houshmandzadeh was just dealt to the Ravens from Seattle! Bawlmore made room for him by washing their hands of Mark Clayton. Housh will most likely be #3 on the depth chart behind Q and Mason, but his stock just went way up by going to the Ravens. If you have a BAL WR (like the aging Mason), you might want to snag Housh for a great injury replacement.

New Commish Post on the league page.
Week 1 Challenge: Team with the most points from their three "WR" spots ("W/R" option doesn't count) wins a shiny crafted IO set enhancement! Not a junky one!

An interesting Sunday to say the least! Two 15-points-scored winners (Steelers, Dolphins), Megatron got robbed, Peyton threw for 3 TDs and 433 yds and LOST, Jerry's Cowboys suffered defeat in DC after a Holding call ended the game, Vick ran for 100 yds and created a QB controversy, and Leonard Weaver's knee bent in a way that would make Gumby cringe!
Tonight's Monday Night Football openers (Ravens@Jets, Chargers@Chiefs) will determine this week's prize winner. If Anquan Boldin lights it up, Shnax (WRs = 31 pts) could potentially pass up the Bio Hazards (WRs = 44 pts) who are anxious to see what Bowe can do. Good luck to both!
P.S. How 'bout them Stillers?!?!? 15-9 in an OT nail-biter, but I'll take it!

@Mr.Catastrophe
Because NOBODY demanded it! If anyone was wondering how Pinnacle Fantasy Football is going, here's the Commissioner's Note as we get ready for week 4:
Only three undefeated teams left in the NFL: STEELERS, Bears, and... Chiefs?! You read that correctly! There were 29 combined yellow flags thrown at the G-Men and Pack this week. The refs for both games needed to ice down their arms afterwards.
I thought our league could go one of two ways this year with auto-picks and a small number of teams. Could have one or two juggernauts, or all evenly-matched squads. I'm hoping it ends up being the latter, as I don't want to stay at the bottom of the standings for long!
Week 3 results:
Drama Phase (1-2) vs Hawk's Heroes (2-1)
Hawkeyed stuck it to The Commish hard, riding the successes of Adrian Peterson and new Dolphin Brandon Marshall to a 24 point victory, 138-114. Thanks for nothing, Matt Schaub!
Red Special (1-2) vs Bio Hazards (2-1)
In a battle of underperforming red helmets where SOMEONE had to win, Mike The Red kept injured San Diego RB Ryan Mathews active as a starter, allowing the Bio Hazards to squeak out an unimpressive 4 point victory, 87-83. Yawn.
Shnax (2-1) vs Pure Trezen (1-2)
Trezen kept IR'd Ryan Grant active as a starter, allowing Shnax to handily complete a 153-102 victory, supported by Q's performance with the Ravens. Shnax was allegedly seen relaxing in a lawn chair while sipping a long island iced tea through the entire second half of games on Sunday.
My Drama Phase is currently acting as league punching bag, as my scored-against points total an astounding 368. The Bio Hazards are amazingly 2-1 while scoring a league-worst 271 total points through week 3.
Injuries and suspensions are continuing as bye weeks begin, so now seems like a great time for a Waiver Wire Challenge. For week 4, the team who claims (and starts) the current free agent player who scores the most points week 4 gets 50 million inf. Easy enough? Pick up any available player set to have a breakout game, start him, and reap the benefits. If nobody picks up a FA to start, I'm using the 50 mil for a costume contest at the next ship raid (don't dare me to do it, I've done crazier things with 50 mil).
I'm looking forward to another exciting week of NFL action. Good luck hunting free agents, choose your starters wisely... and get those injured players off of your active rosters!

@Mr.Catastrophe
Hi everybody.
Training camps around the NFL are opening this week, so football season is almost upon us.
I had great fun being commissioner last year and would love to do it again, but I'm sorry to say that I just won't have the time to do the job properly. I've got way too much going on outside of game. Among other things, I'm going to be moving sometime in the near future, likely during the early part of the season.
If anyone wants to take over the commissioner job, just let me know.
Cheers!
